The day ended with a coaches and players scrimmage game. VIEJAS OUTREACH CHALLENGE November 22 & 23 Thanksgiving Week November 27 SDSU Nike N7 Night December Basketball Team Registration & Uniform Order 12pm December 24 Christmas Eve December 25 Christmas December 31 New Years Eve Viejas decided to accepted our challenge to a soccer match, which we agreed to with much excitement. The ITS program staff then headed out to Viejas on Thursday, September 13th to kick off our outreach challenge to all ITS tribes and organizations. The game was highly competitive with the score being 1-0 at half time. Ultimately, the ITS team prevailed with a victory and received their first ITS Outreach Challenge win. This challenge is made possible by the Nike N7 Fund.

2 PALA OUTREACH On Sunday, September 9th ITS headed to Pala to help with their Youth Basketball 3 on 3 Tournament. They had an excellent turnout and everyone had a great time. FIRST NATIONS CONFERENCE The ITS Executive Director, Isaiah Thompson, attended the 22nd Annual First Nations L.E.A.D. Institute Conference at Morongo Casino & Resort in Cabazon, CA on September 26 27, The purpose of the conference was to help emerging and existing leaders in Indian Country network, grow professionally, share ideas and learn new skills related to asset building. The two days consisted of multiple workshops in language & cultural revitalization, strengthening tribal & community institutions, and protecting natural resources. ITS YOUTH AMBASSADORS During the first day of the 22nd Annual First Nations L.E.A.D. Institute Conference, ITS two YouthAmbassadors were asked to attend the conference to speak to eveyone about "What does it mean to be young leaders in their community?". Their interactive presentation was highly praised by the attendees of the conference. ITS would like to thank First Nations Development Institute (FNDI) for allowing our two youth to be involved in such an amazing event.

3 SOCCER OPENING DAY Our Soccer Opening Day at Barona began on Saturday, September 29. Youth were all eager to get into the game and score some goals. Along with our games, ITS had our Rez Dogg Refreshments booth that had an assortment of delicious fruits and nuts, along with our plum apple infused water. Kids were also able to participated in our fun wheel to win cool ITS branded prizes. Thank you to our host, Barona Band of Mission Indians, our volunteers from the Nike Store at the Viejas Outlet Center, coaches, youth and parents present. Everyone helped contributed to a fun filled day! The ITS branded prizes were made possible thanks to Notah Begay III Foundation ( NB3) grant.

4 UPCOMING EVENTS OUTREACH CHALLENGE ITS is challenging all tribes to any ITS sport for an ITS Staff vs Youth game. The prize is a pizza party for everyone who accepts the challenge and wins!
