May Horseland Volunteer In the month of May we were proud to reward volunteers for their hard work at NRC events by rewarding them with $20 Horseland vouchers. In March Horseland vouchers were awarded to: Show Jumping Vicki Collins and Angelina Saver Dave Cameron Show Jumping Clinic Eva Rusmussen, Steph Fenn and Marion Grove Northside Riding Club membership runs from 1 January to 31 December each year. Riders must bring a horse to participate in events. Brighton s Volunteer Pointscore At the end of the year, all the helpers will get tallied and we will award spectacular prizes to our Top 10 volunteers who have consistently made it possible for us to run so many fun and fantastic events! Make sure when you volunteer at an event that you sign the register as the Volunteer of the Year (the person with the highest tally) will receive a rug and trophy in recognition of their hard work.

3 Page 3 Events - June Dressage Kate Taylor-Wheat Dressage Clinic Date: Saturday, 6 June 2015 Venue: Ash Arena St Ives Showground, St Ives Cost: $105 Members, $115 Non Members Entries: Enter via Global Entries Online Hacking Gymkhana Date: Sunday, 7 June 2015 Cost: $5 per Ticket plus $5 Ground Fee Entries: Enter on the day Kate is an FEI Dressage Rider, Trainer and EA NCAS Level 1 Dressage Coach. Kate is well known for success on her horses Oscar B, World Star and more recently her very talented young horse Flowervale Florenz. Kate provides coaching and training to riders of all levels and ages and takes in horses for training at her Glenorie property. Having owned, trained and campaigned horses myself from Preliminary to Grand Prix, I can understand the requirements of the horse and rider combination and adapt training methods to suit their needs. To participate in this clinic all riders MUST be WDA, NRC or EA members. Notes: That this clinic is open to riders of all levels and spectators are welcome! There will be no refunds the week prior to the clinic unless you are able to find a replacement for your lesson. NRC Hack Show is scheduled for Sunday, 7 June. Novice, Open, Show Hunter and Funkhana rings with lots of classes. Competitors MUST either be a current member of EA or NRC to compete. Notes: ALL memberships must be done ONLINE ONLY via Nominate and prior to the event in which the rider wishes to compete. Members can join from the age of 5 upwards (only the Hacking phase will allow riders to be led). Members under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian who is 18 years or over. Trial or Day memberships ARE NOT OFFERED. Members can use any un-used vouchers they may have if they present the voucher to the phase head on the day of the event. David Cameron is a show jumping rider and coach based in Wilberforce. He is the current Australian Show Jumping Champion and World Cup winner. He is happy to coach any students who want to learn, ranging from nervous housewives through to professional riders. Take advantage of the opportunity to participate in two (2) events in one day. Alongside our fabulous Dave Cameron Clinic we are also running dressage protocol with judge Prue Spurret. Prue is an International Eventing Judge, heading overseas in July to judge at UK events and would love to see some of our members riding eventing tests. At a protocol day you ride the test of your choice and then receive feedback from the judge, with the opportunity to repeat the movements or even the whole test. You have a 20 minute timeslot. There will be two (2) competition rings with course walks commencing at 8.30am with the first horse on at 9.00am. An exciting new initiative will be launched at our June showjumping competition. Chris Elliott from Randwick Equine will be there and if you take your horse to see him, he will create a personalised horse health record passport for your horse. Northside will be the first to receive these passports in Australia at absolutely no cost. They provide an efficient way to keep record of your horse s health and lots of really useful information. We will be offering seperate classes for ponies, horses and Para-Equestrian riders from preparatory to medium level (advanced level available in freestyle). There is: NEW Para-Equestrian dressage tests NEW Freestyle to Music Class! Choose your level from novice to advanced. Freestyle to music can be ridden in pairs and/or costume! Notes: Maximum of 4 tests per rider and 2 tests per horse (of consecutive levels). Riders must be a member of either NRC or Equestrian Australia (participation or competitive) to compete in closed un-restricted classes. No day membership available. Bridle numbers are encouraged in unrestricted classes. Riders must be current competitive members of EA and horse must registered and have a current license to compete in official competitive classes. Owner must also be current member of EA.
