5 I am a member of the US Biathlon Team training for the 2018 Olympics. As the #2 ranked American, I am on track to compete in PyeongChang, South Korea at the upcoming Olympics in less than a year. 8 EXCELLENCE The US Biathlon Team trains year round. It's a full-time job with over 200 travel days, training twice per day, six days per week, and 24/7 dedication to maintaining optimal health and performance. Biathlon requires endurance, power, precision, focus, and above all, resilience. Each of us is responsible for informing the US Anti-Doping Agency of our whereabouts at all times so that we may be randomly tested. In August 2016 the New York Times called US Biathlon's CEO, Max Cobb, "a courageous crusader for clean sport." 8

15 ATHLETES RELY ON SPONSORS The U.S. Biathlon Association is a privately-funded organization with the financial means to meet basic sport-related needs of National Team members. Because biathlon is not well known in the US, American biathletes are at a disadvantage relative to their European competitors when it comes to financial support. Sponsorship elevates American biathletes to an even playing field and is critical to making the Olympic dream a reality. My two stipulations for sponsorship are that we form a partnership from which both athlete and sponsor benefit, and that we believe in one another's work.
