Along the way Wells moved into 16th place on the Bulldogs scoring list, currently with 1,164 points, passing Ray Graves mark of 1,153. Fellow Lone Star state native Zach Urbanus finished the contest with 10 points and six rebounds, including two 3-pointers, in a difficult shooting night for the Bulldogs. They came out with a very inspired defensive effort and had great concentration on that end of the court, said Head Coach Ed Conroy. We scored early on the first couple of possessions, but then they settled down an really locked in. (Derrick) Rolan did a great job on Urbanus and other guys played their assignments really well. The Bulldogs (6-6) were plagued by 13 turnovers and an 18-for-55 (32.7%) field goal mark in the contest. However, they did manage to outscore Texas A&M in the second half, knocking down 13-of-33 attempts after the break. The trio of Donald Sloan (17 points), Nathan Walkup (12 points) and Khris Middleton (11 points) paced Texas A&M. Guard Derrick Roland was also a major threat for the Aggies, scoring nine points in 25 minutes of play. Sloan and Walkup combined to finish 6-for-10 from beyond the arc for an Aggies unit that was 8-of-21 in the contest. With the victory, Texas A&M improves to 9-2 overall. Wells, who has scored in double figures in each of the last 16 games dating back to last season, coincidentally eclipsed the 20-point mark for the 21st time in his career. The Citadel forced a pair of turnovers in the opening minutes of the game, jumping out to a quick 6-3 lead, before Texas A&M retaliated with a 19-0 run over the next 7:01. The Aggies Donald Sloan accounted for eight points, including two 3-pointers, and a steal during the stretch. Urbanus broke the drought with a long range shot, his only basket of the frame, cutting the A&M lead to 19-9 at the 12:22 mark. The Aggies advantage continued to mount in the final 7:27, outscoring The Citadel 12-2 during that span. Nathan Walkup s six points, coming on a pair of 3-pointers, highlighted the run. After a Wolfinger dunk, Texas A&M scored the next four points, to take a lead into the break. EXHIBITION VICTORY: Bryan Streeter scored 12 points and added 11 rebounds to lead The Citadel to a win in an exhibition game over Allen University. The Bulldogs rebounded in the second half, hitting 15-of-28 field goal attempts, after struggling in the first half in which they were successful on 9-of-24 (37.5%) of their shots. Point guard Cameron Wells led the team with 16 points, 8-of-13 from the field, and caromed nine boards. Starting guard Byron Littlejohn led the Yellow Jackets with 27 points, hitting 10-of-19 shots. Littlejohn finished with a 6-for-12 performance from beyond the arc, marking the only Allen player to finish in double figures. Teammate Jeremy Crawford led the way with seven rebounds. Allen knocked down 17-of-48 (35.4%) field goals, including 11-of-27 (40.7%) in the second half. Streeter and Wells topped The Citadel in scoring and provided the offensive threat for a team that hit 24-of-52 (46.2%) in the contest. The biggest struggle came from 3-point range,

3 managing a 2-of-19 performance. Zach Urbanus and Austin Dahn finished with nine points apiece, while Matt Clark hauled in six boards. As a unit, the Bulldogs finished with a edge in rebounds and outscored Allen in the post. SHIFTING THE SCORING RANKS: Cameron Wells has scored in double figures for 16 consecutive games, dating back to a meeting with Wofford (2/28/09), and in the process moved into 16th place on The Citadel all-time scoring list. He netted a team-high 16 points against Michigan State to move past Felipe de las Pozas who closed his career with 1,135 points. Most recently, in his native Texas, Cameron netted a game-high 28 points against the 23rd ranked Texas A&M Aggies. Wells entered the season with 946 career points through 63 contests. Through the first 11 games of he has netted a team-high 190 points. Here is a brief look at the company Wells is keeping among leading scorers in The Citadel s basketball history: Rank Player... Urbanus, who has converted 189-of-417 (45.3%) career 3-ptrs., trails Leon Bryant (46.3%) among 3-point FG Percentage Leaders in a career. As for Nesbit, who occupies fourth place on the all-time Citadel three-point list, he hit 234 shots in his Bulldogs career. Of those, 191 were from beyond the arc, accounting for 81.6% of the made field goals in his career. Fellow Bulldog Austin Dahn sits in eighth place all-time among Citadel 3-point shooters, hitting nine this season to eclipse Jamie Jenkins. Dahn has been successful on 141-of-402 career attempts (35.1%), has made at least one three-pointer in each of the last four games, dating back to the meeting with Davidson (12/3). They are three of six Citadel players whose hometowns are west of the Mississippi, the others being Joe Wolfinger, Cosmo Morabbi and Harrison DuPont. The games will pit the Bulldogs against Texas A&M on Dec.19 followed by a meeting with Houston two nights later. Those are two great challenges, Conroy said of the upcoming trip. Texas A&M and Houston are two outstanding programs who have very good basketball teams. We will be tested in every way. Obviously it is a trip back to Texas for Mike Groselle, Zach Urbanus and Cameron Wells and they will have family members there as well. First and foremost we want to go out there and play well and keep improving as a team. NOT THE FIRST RODEO: University of Houston senior guard Aubrey Coleman leads the na-

4 tion in scoring through eight games with an average of 26.9 points per contest. On one hand it will mark the fourth time that The Citadel has played ranked teams in back-to-back contests. It also indicates the third time that the program has met at least three ranked teams in a single season. The backcourt tandem of Urbanus and Wells has been the most consistent against the three ranked teams this season. Both scored double digits against West Virginia, Michigan State and Texas A&M, marking the only two players with that distinction on the squad. Mississippi State grabbed a lead with 1:23 remaining when Ravern Johnson connected on his third and final 3-pointer. With 1:08 remaining, senior guard Aubrey Coleman was fouled driving to the basket and went to the foul line. After making his first free throw, the Houston native snared the offensive rebound following the miss on his second attempt and laid it in to tie the game at MSU forward Jarvis Varnado missed a layup with 43 seconds left but Stewart snared the offensive board. Following a Bulldog timeout, Stewart nailed a jumper that gave MSU the lead for good with only 34 seconds left in the game. Coleman missed a jumper with 15 seconds to go, and Varnado - who went 7-of-17 from the charity stripe in the game - hit both free throws after grabbing the rebound and being fouled. Johnson then connected on two more attempts from the charity stripe with three seconds left for the final margin of victory. Although they were outrebounded and were limited to a season-low 31.2 percent from the field, the Cougars remained in the game by forcing 19 MSU turnovers and limiting their own giveaways to a season-low six turnovers. Houston entered Saturday s game as the nation s leader in fewest turnovers per game. Playing in front of a season-best home crowd of 3,422 fans, the Cougars struggled early in the second half. Tied at after Coleman s dunk with seconds remaining in the first half, MSU scored the second half s first nine points for a advantage. The Cougars pulled to within on Coleman s layup with 14:22 remaining, but MSU scored the next six points for a advantage. Houston then used an 14-3 run during the next 7:21 and built a advantage when senior guard Kelvin Lewis connected on a 3-pointer at the 5:34 mark. Following a Varnado free throw, Dee Bost tied the game at with a 3-pointer with 4:34 to go. Bost handed the Bulldogs a lead with 2:47 left, but junior guard Zamal Nixon tied the game again with his lone 3-pointer with 2:14 remaining. Stewart buried a jumper with 1:50 remaining for a MSU lead, but Coleman s layup tied the game at with 1:40 left. Coleman, who entered the game as the nation s leading scorer, lived up to that billing with a gamehigh 28 points. Playing all 40 minutes, he also added a team-high 12 rebounds for the 16th doubledouble of his career. Lewis finished with 18 points, including a game-high four 3-pointers, and added four rebounds and a pair of steals. Sophomore point guard Desmond Wade dished out a game-high six assists with only one turnover and two steals in 33 minutes. It was the fifth straight game that the Linden, N.J., native recorded at least six assists. Johnson and Bost led a balanced MSU scoring attack that saw four players reach double figures. Stewart posted 14 points, while Varnado added 13 points and game highs of 17 rebounds and five blocks. Kodi Augustus posted seven points and 16 rebounds in the win. (Dec. 14) LEWIS SHINES AGAINST TROY: Senior guard Kelvin Lewis paced a hot shooting team

Lewis drained 7-of-9 three-point attempts on the way to 24 points and six rebounds in the first meeting between the two schools. As a team, the Cougars connected on 16-of-27 3-point attempts for a 59.3 percentage, the fifth-best single-game performance in school history. After hitting half of their 18 long-range attempts in the first half, the Cougars got even hotter in the second half, nailing 7-of-9 attempts from the arc. Lewis was one of five Cougars who hit at least one trey in the game and one of four with multiple 3-pointers. Senior guard Aubrey Coleman and junior guard Adam Brown each nailed three treys, while freshman guard Nick Haywood came off the bench to bury his first two 3-point attempts. Junior guard Zamal Nixon also added a 3-pointer in the win. Coleman led all players with 25 points despite being held to only one point through the game's first 16 points. The nation's leading scorer entering the game, the Houston native also added four rebounds and three steals. Brown posted 15 points with three rebounds, while junior forward Kahmell Broughton came off the bench to provide key minutes on the inside. The Carteret, N.J., native finished the night with a career-high 10 points and four rebounds in 16 minutes after sitting out the previous four games. With the win, the Cougars won their fourth straight home contest dating back to last season and improved to 5-2 overall. Troy dropped its second straight game to fall to 5-5. The game did not start out well early for the Cougars, who trailed on Bernard Toombs' layup with 12:36 left in the first half. However, the Cougars used a 16-2 run during the next 4:10 to build a lead they would never relinquish. A long-range assault led the Cougar rally with 3-pointers from Nixon and Brown and a pair from Haywood capping the scoring. The Trojans continued to battle in the second half, pulling to within four points at three times during the final two minutes. However, that would be as close as the Troy would get the rest of the way. Coleman buried a 3-pointer with 1:02 remaining for an lead and hit a pair of free throws 13 seconds later after a Brandon Hazzard 3-pointer pulled the Trojans to within Although the Cougars' free throw shooting in the final 40 seconds was a little shaky, both Coleman and Brown nailed key free throws when the Cougars needed it for the final margin of victory. Hazzard finished with 21 points, including three 3-pointers to lead the Trojans, while Richard Delk added 20 points and six rebounds. Yamene Coleman posted 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds in the loss. (Dec. 6) AGGIES HOLD OFF TAMUCC: Senior guard Aubrey Coleman posted a game-high 29 points, and senior guard Kelvin Lewis added 22 points with six 3-pointers to help lead the University of Houston men's basketball team to an win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi inside Hofheinz Pavilion. Playing all 40 minutes for the third straight game and the 13th time during his career, Lewis connected on 7-of-10 shots from the field, including 6-of-8 3-point attempts. The Fort Worth, Texas, native scored 15 second-half points off five 3-point attempts to lead the Cougar long-range shooters. Coleman finished with a game-high 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting and led the Cougars with seven rebounds.

7 Although the team was outrebounded and allowed the Islanders to shoot 60 percent from the field in the second half, the Cougars took advantage of 13 steals off 24 TAMUCC turnovers and converted those into 35 points. With the win, the Cougars improved to 4-2 this season and won their fourth straight game against the Islanders. TAMUCC dropped its second straight game and fell to 4-3. The Cougars built a first-half lead late in the first half, but the Islanders stormed back to score the final six points for a 1-point Houston advantage at the break. The TAMUCC rally continued early in the final period with the Islanders scoring nine of the first 12 points for a lead on Justin Reynolds' layup with 17:11 remaining in the game. However, the Cougars used a 22-5 run during the next 6:04 to turn that deficit into a Cougar advantage. Lewis led the rally, drilling each of his first three 3-point attempts to start the rally and capped the Houston scoring with another trey with 11:07 to go in the contest. TAMUCC continued to fight and pulled to within with 7:49 to go on Demond Watt's layup. Houston ten used a 9-2 run during the next three minutes for a lead. Although TAMUCC pulled to within on Kevin Palmer's layup with 1:24 to go, the Cougars iced the game from the free throw line. Coleman hit two free throws with a minute remaining, and sophomore point guard Desmond Wade added another free throw with seven seconds left for the final margin of victory. Palmer led the Islanders with 22 points and three 3-pointers while Terence Jones finished with 14 points and three treys of his own. Watt added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Justin Reynolds posted 11 points. Horace Bond led all players with 12 rebounds in the losing effort. (11/30) COLEMAN NAMED POW: For the second straight week, University of Houston senior guard Aubrey Coleman was honored as the Conference USA Player of the Week. Coleman helped lead the Cougars to a 2-1 record and a third-place finish at the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout last week. In three games, he averaged 22.7 points 7.3 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game to earn a place on the All-Tournament Team. In the tournament opener, he led all players with 27 points and 11 rebounds for the 15th doubledouble of his career and scored 11 consecutive points during a 3:30 run that gave the Cougars the lead for good against No. 25 Oklahoma. He added 25 points with seven rebounds in the tournament finale against host Alaska-Anchorage and posted 16 points with four rebounds and a game-high seven steals against San Diego. It was the fourth time Coleman received the league's weekly honor during his career. A year ago, he was named the C-USA Rookie of the Week five times. (11/28) 3rd AT GREAT ALASKA SHOOTOUT: The University of Houston men's basketball team used some hot shooting early on the way to a win against host Alaska-Anchorage in the thirdplace game of the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout inside Sullivan Arena. The Cougars (3-2) jumped out to a 17-7 lead in the first seven minutes and never looked back in winning for the third time in four outings against the Seawolves. Houston, which never trailed or was tied in the game, buried 55.6 percent (15-of-27) of its first-half shots and forced 18 UAA turnovers to take the win. UAA threatened at times in the second half, pulling to within on Brandon Walker's tip-in. However, the Cougars went on a 9-2 run during the next 3:39 to push their lead back to double digits. The Cougars also used steady defensive pressure midway through the final half to extend their lead. Walker scored a layup to give UAA 39 points with 12:43 remaining. That would be the last field goal the Seawolves would score for the next 8:44. UAA (3-2) was not held scoreless during that time, converting seven free throws, but those would be the only points the Cougars would surrender. Senior guard Aubrey Coleman led the Cougars with 25 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore point guard Desmond Wade added 15 points and a game-high seven assists. Junior guard Adam Brown posted 14 points with three rebounds and a game-high four steal. Senior guard Kelvin Lewis was held to eight points with a pair of 3-pointers. However, those eight points were enough to make the Fort Worth, Texas, native only the 42nd 1,000-point scorer in Houston history. Lewis now has 1,000 points during his career in the scarlet and white and 1,071 points total during his collegiate career.

15 Citadel Bulldog Game Recaps & Box Scores vs. Georgia Southwestern State (58-37 exh.) vs. Kenyon College (64-45) The Citadel Basketball team cruised to a victory in an exhibition game over Georgia Southwestern University. Junior Bryan Streeter led the Bulldogs offensively, netting 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Newcomer Joe Wolfinger anchored the post, grabbing 11 rebounds (nine defensive), in 16 minutes of play. Senior Joe Wolfinger recorded his first career double-double in a victory over visiting Kenyon College on Friday night. Wolfinger scored 20 points and finished with 12 rebounds, helping the Bulldogs to dominate the paint, while teammate Cameron Wells scored 11 points to lead the backcourt. Streeter gave us a lot of energy in the first half, said head coach Ed Conroy. He brings a lot of toughness to our lineup. Defensively he was very solid and played well. As a team we are continuing to make progress and we as a staff got a good feel by using different combinations tonight. In the second half we played choppy, but were able to develop a solid rotation on the bench. Also reaching double figures for The Citadel was Cameron Wells. Wells, a preseason selection by both The Sporting News and the So- Con coaches, scored 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting in 22 minutes of action. Wells dished out two assists and made a solid defensive stand with four steals. Backcourt teammates Zach Urbanus (nine points) and Austin Dahn (one point) combined for 56 minutes. Streeter added seven caroms, while Mike Groselle chipped in five, to give the Bulldogs a advantage in the paint. The Citadel held Georgia Southwestern to 12-of-49 shooting (24.5%), including 6-of-21 shooting (28.6%) from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs hit on 20-of-47 from the field (42.6%) and 13-of-19 from the free-throw line. The combination of Marcus Scott, 19 points, and Ric Roderick (11 points) provided the offensive threat for the Hurricanes. Scott converted 7-of-17 field goal attempts, hitting 3-for-6 from 3-point range. Dannie Hunt posted eight boards in the loss. Streeter converted 4-of-5 attempts in the first half, leading all scorers with 10 points. The Bulldogs converted 10-of-19 field goals (52.6%), including 2-of-7 from beyond the arc, in the half. Junior guard Cameron Wells added eight points, along with a pair of assists, while newcomer Joe Wolfinger manned the post with two points, four rebounds and a pair of blocks. As the two teams headed to the lockerrooms, Ric Roderick led the Hurricanes with six points. Dannie Hunt grabbed five boards, including four defensive. Wells hit on 3-of-12 shots from the field, 5-for-6 from the free throw line and grabbed nine rebounds. Backcourt mate Zach Urbanus hit 2-of-7 from the field, all from beyond the arc, and hauled in four boards. Our whole team did a great job of playing with energy and the right mentality on the defensive end, said head coach Ed Conroy. We had to do that because it was a tough night shooting. For (Joe) Wolfinger to come through and score some big baskets for us in the second half, when the score was a little tight, and give us a lead was really encouraging. He has really improved on some fundamental things and it showed in his play tonight. As for Kenyon, J.T. Knight scored a team-high 15 points while Dave Knapke anchored the middle with 11 rebounds. Four players finished with three turnovers apiece as Kenyon College finished with 20 as a unit. The Lords hit on 8-of- 24 (33.3%) shots from beyond the arc, led by Knight s 3-for- 4 performance. Leading at the end of the first half, The Citadel extended its lead to on an Urbanus three-pointer at the 13:51 mark of the second half. The highlight of the run came when Wells found Wolfinger for an open dunk. With The Citadel leading at the 9:31 mark, Knight knocked down a three-pointer to cut the lead to nine points. The Bulldogs answered with a 13-2 run over the next 7:29 to lead by a margin.
