ON THE AIR: Geoff Brault will call all the action on GoRedFoxes.com starting at 7:45 p.m. SERIES RECORD: Oklahoma leads the overall series 1-0. LAST MEETING: In their first trip to the NCAA tournament, the Marist Red Foxes fell to Oklahoma in the first round of the Midwest Regional in Tempe, Ariz. on March 20, Marist trailed at halftime, but Oklahoma shot 50% from the field in the second half to pull away. Stephanie Del Preore led the Red Foxes with 12 points and six rebounds. LAST TIME OUT: Powered by an 18-0 run to start the second half, Marist defeated Harvard at Lavietes Pavilion. Senior guard Julianne Viani scored her 1,000th career point en route to a game-high 19 points. She also had a career-high nine assists and a career-high five steals. MARIST V. The senior came into the season as Marist s all-time leader in three-point field goal percentage at 37%. With her nine assists on Sunday, Viani is now fifth all-time in assists at Marist with 316.

4 MAAC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rachele Fitz was named the MAAC Co-Player of the Week on Monday. She shared the award with Tammy Meyers of Rider. Fitz is the second straight Marist player to earn the honor, as Julianne Viani won the award on Nov. 17. The junior forward averaged 27 points per game against Northeastern and Harvard and shot 74.1% from the field. She also averaged 7.5 rebounds per game. DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS: Last season Marist set a new program record in field goal percentage defense, allowing teams to shoot 35.6% from the field. The Red Foxes allowed 57.1 points per game last season. Marist has been strong in defending the threepoint arc this season, holding opponents to 28.2 shooting. SHARING THE WEALTH: Marist has assisted on 58 of 90 field goals this season. This means the Red Foxes have assisted on 64% of their field goals. Last season, Marist assisted on 63.9% of its made field goals. As a team the Red Foxes were fifth in the nation in free throw percentage at 79.3%, also a program single-season record. Marist is shooting 80.4% from the line so far this season. TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK: Marist had an assist/turnover ratio of 1.3 last season, eighth best in the nation. So far this season, Marist s has picked up where it s left off. SCOUTING OKLAHOMA: The Sooners entered the season as the team to beat in the Big 12 conference. Ranked in the top-five in both preseason polls, Oklahoma returned four starters to this year s club including potential four-time All-American Courtney Paris. Paris has 101 career double-doubles, including a 19 point, 20 rebound performance against Arizona State on Saturday. The Sooners opened the season in the preseason WNIT, winning their first three games before falling to North Carolina on Sunday. Ashley Paris led Oklahoma with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the game. Paris leads the Sooners in scoring with 16 points per game. Courtney Paris averages 15.8 points and 14.8 rebounds per game while shooting 65.9% from the field. In his seventh season at the helm, his career record stands at with a winning percentage of.740. Giorgis had led the program to unprecedented heights in his first six campaigns. Marist has improved the win total every season that Giorgis has coached. In , the Red Foxes once again set a new program-record with 32 wins. Marist became the first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference team to finish the regular season undefeated, going 18-0 to win its fifth consecutive regular season title. The Red Foxes also earned their first in-season ranking in when the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll ranked them 25th on Feb. 12. Marist was ranked as high as 20th in the poll by the end of the regular season. A new record 21-game winning streak propelled Marist to its fourth MAAC Tournament title and a seventh-seed in the New Orleans Region of the NCAA Tournament. Marist won its first round NCAA Tournament game for the second straight season, using a 39-7 run over the last 14:13 of the game to defeat tenth-seeded DePaul The Red Foxes took a 22-game winning streak, the nation's longest at the time, into their second round game against LSU. While Marist did fall to the Tigers, the Red Foxes showed they can hang with the nation's elite teams for a second straight season. Giorgis earned two accolades for his work during the season. He was named MAAC Coach of the Year, marking the fourth time in six seasons that he earned at least a share of the award. The Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association also honored Giorgis by naming him and C. In , Giorgis guided Marist to a 22-win season, which included a program-record 16-game winning streak. After starting the MAAC season 0-3, the Red Foxes closed it with 15 consecutive triumphs to earn the top seed in the MAAC Tournament for the first time. The season was historical, as it was the first time the Red Foxes earned a berth in the NCAA tournament in what became known as a "season of firsts." Additionally, Marist earned its first share of a MAAC regular-season title and compiled its first winning record in 11 years.
