STATE PICKED 2ND IN SEC The Bulldogs were picked second in the SEC by both league media and the coaches in the preseason. MSU tied for second a year ago, its highest finish ever. MSU has finished 11-5 each of the last two seasons, the most conference wins in school history. BIG SHOT BLAIR In addition to her 3 to end the second quarter at Tennessee, Schaefer hit the final go-ahead 3-pointer with 2:39 to play. She helped her father to win No. 100 at MSU by tying a career high with 12 points at UALR. She set a new personal best the following game with 18 points against SMU. Since returning to the court on Dec. 28, she had struggled to score, tallying 15 points in her first five games back. She bettered that mark Monday, pouring in a season-high 16 points on 5 of 10 shooting, including 2 of 3 from the arc.
