6 Herschel U9 Hockey Festival On Friday, 3 August, Herschel hosted their annual U9 Girls Hockey Festival. 25 teams from 16 different schools took part. The emphasis was on fun and learning and it was a wonderful and festive afternoon of Hockey. Well done to all the Herschel U9 girls who took part. Thank you to all the Herschel coaches, Herschel staff and Grade 7 girls for their help to make the event such a success. 6

7 Herschel U11 Twilight Tournament On Friday, 3 August, Herschel initiated a brand new and exciting event for U11 girls Hockey teams. 10 teams from 9 different schools around Cape Town took part. The standard of Hockey was high and the girls enjoyed the challenge of friendly competition whilst playing under lights. The spirit in which the games were played and the sportsmanship between the schools was a highlight of the evening. Well done to Somerset House who won the inaugural event and to the Herschel U11s who came 2nd. Wynberg girls were the bronze medal winners. Congratulations also go to Sweet Valley who won the medals for Team Spirit, and to Langa Hockey club were awarded the medals for Sportsmanship. Thank you to all those who helped at this event. 7
