2 IMPORTANT LIVESTOCK INFORMATION: Swine Weigh-In Information: With the recent PEDV (Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus) outbreaks, the Marshall County Pork Producers has agreed it would be in the best interest of the swine exhibitors to change how we conduct the Derby Swine weigh-in. Weigh-in will take place on Saturday, March 29th. We will have 2 locations for weighing-in & each exhibitor will be assigned a time & location to weigh-in at. We will no longer offer on the farm weigh-ins. To help us organize the weigh-in, we are asking each exhibitor to contact Lisa or Tom if they are planning on weighing in Derby pigs & approximately how many pigs per youth by MARCH 1ST. Then, we will assign a weigh-in time to you. Also, we are asking that you prepare to handle all of your pigs at weigh-in. The pork producers will be present to facilitate the weigh-in, but need to limit as much pig contact as possible to minimize PEDV risk. And as a common courtesy, please contact us if your pigs become sick with any illness within 30 days of weigh-in. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Lisa (515) or Tom (641) Thank you. From the Sheep and Goat Committee: There will be a $2 pen fee for Sheep and Goats. This fee is going to be used for replacing and improving the pens. Also, please be courteous while on the fairgrounds at the Weigh-in s May 4 th.
