Only divers and their caches will enter thrugh the pl entrance at Dr 51 n Ddge Ave n Friday between 6:30-8:30am. One TEAM PARKING PASS is given at Thursday night packet pick-up t schls with 4 r mre ttal participants. NEW: Team parking is reserved in Parking Lt 4A at the ftball stadium n Church Street beginning at 11:00 a.m. This is NOT fr large buses. D nt leave valuables n the bus as this lt will nt be mnitred. Teams arriving in LARGE BUSES shuld be drpped ff n Church Street by Tennis Curts. Large bus parking is nt available n campus but there is a parking lt at the Dempster & Ddge mall tw blcks suth f campus. ALL Schl Lts are pen fr parking after 3:00 p.m. n Friday and all day Saturday. Cach must accmpany swimmers and remain n-site. Ntice: We ve experienced several prblems as a result f cach s wristbands being prvided t athletes, parents, etc. As caches yu are well aware f the limited space available n the deck. At times it is difficult t get all f the apprved persnnel n deck. The passes issued t participants and the wristbands issued t caches in the State Final packet are nn-transferable, they are t be used nly by rstered athlete. Peple caught using a pass intended fr legitimate caches and/r rstered athletes will have their pass revked and remved frm the facility. In additin, caches may have sanctins placed against them frm caching the remainder f the state final and/r be placed n prbatin. It is ur desire t prvide the greatest experience pssible fr the athletes, caches, fficials and fans. T d s, we must have the help f everyne invlved. Wristband Plicy/Distributin: Qualified caches, wh have met the abve cnditins and are listed n the schl s On-Line List f Participants, shall be issued a cach s wristband using the fllwing frmula: **1-5 Qualifiers = 2 bands**6-10 Qualifiers = 3 bands**11 Qualifiers & abve = 4 bands ***Managers r Trainers with rub-dwn tables will nt receive a participant pass r cach s wristband. *** The number indicated next t each schl s name n the Swimming Sign-In Sheet indicates the ttal number f wristbands allwed fr that particular schl. This is a pre-determined number set by IHSA and it is based n the number f State Final qualifiers. Once they have reached that number, they are nt allwed any extra. Each cach must sign fr his/her wn wristband and it is placed n the wrist by check-in staff. 1. Every Qualifying Diving Cach autmatically gets ne wristband upn check-in. If yur schl nly qualifies a diver, they will be entitled t tw wristbands. Each cach must sign fr his/her wristband and is nt part f the Swimming cach s wristband alltment. 2. If a cach r an fficial is listed as part f a schl s caching staff, they are crssed ff the sign-in sheet. Thse peple nly get the Officials wristband that will be supplied in their fficial s packet. 3. On Swimming Sign-In Sheet, the Diving Caches are crssed ut. This means they need t sign in n the Diving Sign-In Sheet. 4. If yu are a cach fr multiple qualifying schls, yu are entitled t ne wristband. 5. Participant and cach passes shall nt be transferable and shall entitle thse persns wh receive participant passes nly t the seating assignment in the pl deck area. IHSA has the authrity t revke a participant and/r cach s wristband at any time. Certified caches wh are listed in the IHSA Schls Center and n the List f Participants will be issued a cach s wristband (in accrdance with the abve frmula). Hwever, thse caches must meet all IHSA Caching By-law Requirements and its subsectins (By-law 2.070). Caches wh d nt meet By-law are nt eligible and cannt be entered n the On-line List f Participants and are nt eligible t receive a wristband. Only legitimate caches and authrized meet persnnel wh have been issued wristbands and stamped cntestants shall be allwed n the pl deck at the Sectinal and State Final meet. 6. In an effrt t ensure that nly apprved persnnel are n the pl deck, meet management and/r IHSA fficials will secure the required wristband n caches as they enter the facility. Any band that appears t be tampered with at any time during the champinship will be cnfiscated and the individual in pssessin will nt be allwed entrance withut the purchase f a ticket. If n tickets are available fr purchase the individual will nt be allwed admittance. There have been numerus instances in the past tw years invlving caches prviding an extra caches band t individuals ther than the certified cach fr which the band was apprved and intended. Schls invlved in the transfer f caches bands will have themselves and their prgram placed n prbatin fr the fllwing year. 7. The IHSA will eliminate the diving cach s wristband frm the number f allwable cach s wristbands as calculated by the number f qualifying swimmers and divers. The qualifying divers will be remved frm the list f qualifiers used t determine the number f cach s wristbands. The number will determine the rder f team entry t the pl deck fr the purpse f reserving bleacher seating fr their team. The actual schl entry list will be psted n the IHSA Swimming & Diving Webpage after sectinal cmpetitin is cmpleted. Friday Teams and caches are t gather in Gymnasium (G170) n later than 1:30 p.m. in Entrance Order number fr the purpse f initial team entry nt the pl deck. Meet Officials will lead teams t the Pl deck n later than 1:40 p.m. The Gym will pen at 9:00 a.m. but entrance t the Pl Deck will be slely n the basis f Entrance Order number. The Entrance Order number will be the same fr Friday and Saturday. Saturday Teams and caches are t gather in Gymnasium (G170) n later than 9:00 a.m. in Entrance Order number fr the purpse f initial entry nt the pl deck. Meet Officials will lead teams t the Pl deck at 9:15 a.m. The Gym will pen at 7:30 a.m. but entrance t the Pl Deck will be slely n the basis f Entrance Order number. The intent f the Entry Order is t prvide the fllwing; 1. A cntinued emphasis n safety in regards t deck entry fr participants and caches 2. A unifrm methd t enhance the efficiency team seating by seating larger grups first. 3. A reductin in the wait times required fr teams t get n deck, allwing later team arrivals and better use f time by caches and athletes. The Entrance Order Number will be assigned based n the fllwing criteria and psted n the IHSA website by Mnday f the week fllwing the sectinal meet. 1. Hst schls will be first r have their area reserved in advance. 2. Teams will then be rdered by the number f cntestants they have qualified; a. Relays equal fur. b. Each individual qualifier including divers equals ne. i. Multiple event qualifiers will cunt as ne fr each event i.e., swimmers in tw individual events cunt as tw. 3. Ties will be brken by awarding the next number in rder f the team s place at the previus year s state meet. 4. Remaining ties will be brken by randm draw frm the teams that are tied. Admissin: N ne will be allwed in the building unless they have a ticket r pass. Upn entering the building, all spectatrs will be required t wear a wristband and keep their ticket stub number which crrelates t their rder f entry int the pl balcny at the designated time. N spectatr will be allwed t leave the building and re-enter nce they arrive (cncessins are available). Please make cnnectins ahead f time and get this infrmatin t yur parents and spectatrs. Children: N children will be allwed n the pl deck r in the cmpetitrs area at any time. Children are nly allwed in the spectatr areas, with a spectatr wristband. Cat/Bag Check: Due t the limited seating capacity, spectatrs Must check their cats, large bags and any hard seat back chairs. There will be a cat check n the first flr, immediately after yu enter the building. There will be n charge fr this. Persns with cats, large bags and hard seat back chairs will nt be admitted t the spectatr area. Declared False Start: In accrdance with Rule any declared false start must be given t the Meet Referee n later than 15 minutes prir t the start f the race. Diving Caches and Cmpetitrs Prcedures fr Friday Diving: All cmpetitrs will use the Girls Pl Lcker Rm n Friday. NEW: Yu must enter the building at the pl entrance at Dr 51 ff f Ddge Avenue. Drs pen Friday mrning at 6:30am and clse at 8:30 a.m. The swimmer entrance will pen at Dr 46 n Church Street near the tennis curts at 10:00 a.m. Prcedures fr Saturday Diving: If yur diver qualifies fr the finals n Saturday, tickets will be n sale immediately fllwing the diving prelims at the spectatr main entrance in the Beardsley Gym Lbby. Yu may purchase up t tw (2) tickets fr the Saturday Finals. The cst f each ticket is $10.00 and is due at that time. If yu qualify t cmpete n Saturday, yu must use the lcker assigned in the Gym Lcker Rm. Please be advised that Flash Phtgraphy is Prhibited! Hspitality: Caches Hspitality: There will be a hspitality rm fr caches and vlunteers in Gym G175. Fd will nly be served at 5:00 p.m. n Friday and 12:30 p.m. n Saturday. Water will be available in the Mle Hle. Officials Hspitality: There will be a hspitality rm fr fficials and IHSA guests nly in Rm G180. Lanes: Lanes 1-6 will be used fr the Prelims and fr the Finals. Lcker Rms Caches/Officials: The Bys pl lcker rm will be reserved fr use by Male Caches and Officials. The Girls pl lcker rm will be reserved fr Female Caches and Officials. These persns must enter the deck area via the entrance frm their respective pl lcker rms. Lcker Rm Assignment: Yu will receive yur lcker rm assignment when yu pick up yur schl packet at packet pick-up. Divers will use the Girls Pl Lcker Rm n Friday and they will dress with their teammates n Saturday. Lcks/Twels: Cntestants, caches and fficials must prvide their wn lcks and twels. These items will nt be furnished by Evanstn. Officials Meeting: The fficials meeting will be held in the Rm G180 n Friday at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Parking Spectatrs Spectatrs will NOT be allwed t park in schl parking lts until 3:00pm n Friday. All schl lts are pen t the public n Saturday. Street parking is permitted n the suth side f Church Street and in frnt f ftball stadium. Street parking is permitted n the west side f Ddge Avenue. Street parking is nt allwed n Davis Street and is limited n the east side f Ddge Avenue. Friday nly, the ftball stadium driveway ff Church Street will be pen beginning at 11:00am fr spectatr parking until it is full. ETHS will nt prvide parking supervisrs s please d nt leave valuables in yur vehicle. Once full, this lt will be lcked until 6:00 p.m. Patrns are reminded t heed all lcal parking rdinances. Spectatrs May Nt enter the lcker rms at any time. Participant Pass Seating fr Swimming Prelims and Finals: Participant passes are fr pl deck seating nly during the Swimming Prelims n Friday and the Finals n Saturday. N participant stamps will be admitted t the spectatr seating areas at any time. Participant Pass Pl Deck Seating: Cntestants will nt be admitted t the pl deck area during the State Final unless they are in cmpetitive attire. Glass bttles, metal cans, fd, large gym bags, street shes and street clthes are NOT permitted n deck. Bare feet are nt permitted in the lbby. Cntestants Wh D Nt Qualify fr the Finals: Swimmers and divers wh are eliminated n Friday will be admitted t the pl deck n Saturday nly by having a New Participant Pass. They will be included in the packet picked-up n Thursday/Friday. This will allw them t enter the lcker rm and they must be in cmpetitive attire. Under n circumstances will they be allwed in the balcny. Nn-qualifying cntestants are asked t stay ut f the water prir t the Finals. Glass bttles, metal cans, fd, large gym bags, street shes and street clthes are NOT permitted n deck. Bare feet are nt permitted in the lbby. Phtgrapher: A phtgrapher will be available t take pictures f the winners f each event while the winners are n the blcks t receive awards. Immediately after the meet, they will take pictures f the winning team and runner-up. When cntestants have their pictures taken by the IHSA Official Phtgrapher, nly a swimsuit r warm-up is t be wrn. N extra headgear r cstume is permitted. Press Rm: There will be a Pressrm in the Beardsley Gym Cnference Rm near Cncessins. Results will be psted. Phne lines will be available in that ffice. Press Interview Rm and Pictures: We will use the Bys Pl Lcker Rm as a Press Interview Rm after each event n Saturday. Rub-Dwn Tables: They are nly allwed in the center f the rped-ff areas in G170 and G160. N rub-dwn tables will be permitted n the pl deck r in the lcker rms. Caches are asked t be cnsiderate. Unifrm/Suits Cach Verificatin f Legal Unifrms and Attire: When the cach signs fr the team r diving packet, the cach is verifying t the Meet Referee that the team s suits and attire are legal as required by Rule Will Call: Any tickets yu want t leave fr spectatrs must be left at Will Call, lcated at the Main Entrance f Beardsley Gym n the east side f the building n Ddge Avenue. New: Ticket Lttery System fr the IHSA Swimming & Diving State Final The IHSA has established a ticket distributin prcedure that is intended t reduce spectatr wait times prir t their entry int the spectatr seating in the pl area. These prcedures nly impact spectatr entry fr the swimming spectatrs as the prcedures fr ticket sales and entry fr diving nly spectatrs has remained unchanged. The prcedures fr ticket distributin and venue entry fr the swimming spectatrs are as fllws: 1. Each State Final ticket will include a number ranging frm On the Sunday fllwing the IHSA Swimming & Diving Sectinals, the IHSA will cnduct a spectatr entry rder lttery. The lttery cnsists f a randm selectin f schls t determine the rder in which schls will be allwed entry int the pl seating area. The number f lts that each schl will receive in the lttery will be equivalent t the number f qualifying swimmers (excluding alternates) that they will have cmpeting. a. Example: Schl A has ne relay (4 swimmers) and 4 individual event swimmers qualify fr the State Meet and Schl B has 3 individual event swimmers qualify fr the State Meet. In this case, Schl A wuld receive 8 lts in the lttery and Schl B wuld receive 3 lts in the lttery. This methd increases the chances fr spectatrs frm schls with the mst qualifiers t gain access t pl seating earlier in the entry rder. 3. Spectatrs frm the tw hst schls (Evanstn & New Trier) will nt be entered int the lttery as they will autmatically receive the first sets f tickets that they are entitled t as indicated in the ticket alltment spreadsheet. a. Example: The State Finals are being cnducted at Evanstn Twp. High Schl and bth Evanstn and New Trier each have 10 swimming qualifiers. In this case, Evanstn wuld autmatically have access t tickets numbered 1-20 and New Trier wuld receive tickets numbered This example wuld wrk the ther way arund when the State Final is held at New Trier. Of curse, the number f additinal tickets determined by the IHSA Office (as indicated in the ticket alltment spreadsheet) wuld be added as well. 4. The first set f tickets fllwing the numbers allcated t the hst schls will g t the first schl that was randmly selected in the lttery, and the next set t the secnd schl selected, and s n. a. Example: Let's assume that it was indicated n the ticket alltment spreadsheet that Schl C will receive 16 tickets and this schl was randmly selected first in the lttery. Using the hst schl ticket alltments frm example 3a., Schl C wuld get ticket numbers The next schl randmly selected wuld receive 57-?, and s n. 5. The week fllwing the Sectinals, the hst schl will sell the tickets (with ticket numbers that crrectly crrespnd t their randm place in the entry rder as determined by the lttery) t each qualifying schl's fficial representative r authrized designee. Each schl's fficial representative r authrized designee can then sell the tickets t their spectatrs. 6. After the lttery has been cnducted, the IHSA will pst a spectatr entry schedule s that spectatrs can determine the time that their ticket number will be allwed entry n Friday and Saturday. 7. Spectatrs will be allwed entry int the gym/hlding area at 12:30p.m. n Friday and 9:00a.m. n Saturday. 8. Upn entry, spectatrs will hand their ticket t a ticket taker wh will tear ff their ticket number and return it t them. The ticket taker will als place a wristband n the spectatr's wrist. The spectatr will prceed t the gym/hlding area where they will check their cats and bags as usual due t limited space in the spectatr seating area. 9. When it is time fr entry int the pl spectatr seating area, spectatrs will hand their ticket number t the apprpriate ticket taker when their number grup is called. The spectatr's wristband will give them access t the spectatr seating area fr the remainder f the day. a. Nte: When a spectatr leaves the venue, they may nt regain access withut a ticket. 10. They will be presented immediately fllwing each event, beginning with the 12 th place. Head caches may be asked t help distribute awards during the awards presentatin. Since the IHSA has cnducted several events fr Athletes with Physical Disabilities. The awards will be presented t these athletes immediately prir t the award winners in the able bdy event f the same distance. The same prcedures will be fllwed as seen belw. Head caches are invited t participate in the award ceremny. Caches f champins shuld reprt t the awards area n the pl deck immediately fllwing the champinship race in each event. Cnslatin Awards Individual 12 th - 7 th The Cnslatin Awards 12 th - 7 th will be given ut immediately after the Champinship Finals are cmpleted.
