MEET DIRECTOR: The 50-meter cmpetitin pl with bulkhead ffers a ttal f eight 50-meter cmpetitin lanes with a depth f Seven feet and Seven inches at the sides and Eight feet and Tw inches in the center. FORMAT: Individual events EXCEPT the 800 M Freestyle and the 1500 M Freestyle will be swum as trials and finals. The 1500 M Freestyle will be swum fastest t slwest as a timed final event, alternating wmen and men. The 400 M Individual Medley and the 400 M Freestyle will be swum as trials and finals. In trials, the fur fastest wmen s heats will be swum first fllwed by the fur fastest men s heats. These heats will be swum slwest t fastest. The remaining heats in trials will be swum fastest t slwest, alternating wmen and men. The 800 M Freestyle will be swum slwest t fastest as a timed final event, alternating wmen and men. The event seeding will be distributed fllwing the clse f the psitive check-ins. The starting time fr the first heat will be scheduled s that the secnd fastest heat f the men s event is cncluded at the start f the finals warm-up sessin. The fastest wmen s and men s heat will swim in the finals sessin. 1

2 Finals Sessins: The tp 32 qualifiers in the trials f each event will cmpete in each day s final sessin in the fllwing rder: D-Final (18 and under nly Bnus heat) C-Final (Bnus heat), B- Final (Cnslatin heat), and A-Final (Final heat). D-Final, C-Final, B-Final and A Final heat will reprt directly t their assigned starting blck. Relay events: All relay events will be timed finals. The fastest 2 heats f the 400 M Freestyle relay, the 800 M Freestyle relay, and the 400 M Medley relay will be swum during the finals sessin with any ther heats swum during the trials sessin. WARM-UPS: Thursday afternn sessin: Warm-ups at 12:30 1:50pm; cmpetitin starts at 2:00pm. 12:30 1:20pm: All lanes designated fr general warm-up 1:20 1:50pm: Lanes 1, 2 and 8 designated fr pace. There will be specific lanes designated fr PACE ONLY in the warm-up/cl dwn lanes. Meet Referee has the right t change lane assignments based n the needs f the swimmers. OME RELAY ENTRY PROCEDURES: ENSURE RELAY ONLY ATHLETES ARE INCLUDED IN THE TEAM ENTRY ROSTER. If entering a B relay, be sure t select an entry time that des nt have a duble asterisk (**). The ** signifies that at least ne athlete frm the entry time f the A relay was a member f the relay that achieved that time. Select anther listed time r enter an aggregate relay All entries fr 200 Medley relays must use the exact same time entered fr the 400 M Medley relay. If n 400 Medley is entered yu must use prvable aggregate times. NT entries will nt be accepted. ATTENTION TEAMS WITH UNATTACHED ATHLETES: Teams may enter athletes with an unattached status. When building the rster in OME, select the Add Unattached/Unregistered Swimmer link. ATTENTION INDIVIDUAL UNATTACHED ATHLETES: Unattached athletes that are nt awaiting attachment t any team must enter individually. Access the OME system at the address - lg in and select Enter Individual. These individuals may send a text file f their entries t the Meet Entry Officer t be entered manually. Unless ther arrangements are made payment must be made by check prir t the first sessin f the meet (Thursday, July 21, 2016). ENTRY LIMITS: Individual Events: Athletes may enter all events which they qualify, hwever they may nly cmpete in Six (6) individual events fr the meet, and n mre than Three (3) individual events per day. Swimmers wh have the qualifying time in either the 800 Freestyle r the 1500 Freestyle may swim bth events. Bnus Events: Maximum f ne (1) bnus event. Swimmers qualified fr the meet will be permitted t enter a bnus event in which they have achieved the bnus qualifying standard. Bnus swims fr the 400 Individual Medley, 400 Freestyle, 800 Freestyle, and the 1500 Freestyle are nt available. Relays: Tw (2) per team per event. The Meet Directr reserves the right t cmbine heats and events, which actins may require reseeding. The Meet Directr reserves the right t eliminate heats f any event if necessary. Prf f entry times is required fr individual and relay events. Entries nt prven by the scratch deadline will be scratched. N Time relay entries will nt be accepted. Entries which imprve the time f an earlier entry will be accepted nly while OME is pen. LATE ENTRIES: Entries desired after the Entry Deadline and prir t the start f the meet, must be sent t the Meet Entry Officer fr input. Late entries at the meet must be made t the Admin Referee and will nly be accepted fr events fr which the scratch bx has nt clsed. All late entries must be submitted with prf f time. Late entries may nt be used t imprve the seed time f an earlier entry. 3

4 FEES: Individual events: $8.50 Relay events: $13.00 Swimmer surcharge: $2.50 per persn (entered in the meet in any capacity) Late Entry Fees: In additin t the regular entry fee, a fee f $10 per event prir t the first day f the meet and $25 per event n r after the first day f the meet will be charged fr any entry received after the Entry Deadline. OME payments may be made using VISA, MasterCard, American Express r Discver (n line) r check. A check is the preferred methd f payment and shuld be made payable t Pseidn Swimming. Wmen s High Pint, Men s High Pint Relay: First thrugh Third Place. SEEDING: All Lng Curse Meters times will be seeded first fllwed by Shrt Curse Meters then Shrt Curse Yards, then Bnus times. All timed finals and trials events will be seeded fllwing the clse f the scratch and psitive checkin perids as listed in the RULES sectin belw. All relays require psitive check t be seeded. Relay teams failing t psitively check in will nt be seeded. TIME TRIALS: At the cnclusin f Friday, Saturday preliminary sessins, and at the cnclusin f Sunday evening finals, time permitting, time trials will be ffered t any swimmer entered in an individual event in the meet. If necessary, an additinal time trail will be held after Sunday preliminary sessin fr thse attempting t achieve Eastern Zne Qualifying times. Times achieved at the Time trials swum after the cnclusin f the meet will nt qualify fr Eastern Zne qualifying times. Times Trials will begin n earlier than 10 minutes after the cnclusin f the sessin it is fllwing. Each day s events will be ffered in rder, n the fllwing schedule (800 M and 1500 M Freestyle will als be ffered as the last events n Saturday): Thursday: 800 and 1500 Freestyle nly. Friday: Friday s events, Saturday s events, Sunday s events (excluding the 800 M Freestyle. Saturday: Saturday s events, Sunday s events, Friday s events, 800M and 1500M Freestyle. Sunday: Sunday s events (excluding the 800 M Freestyle), Friday s events, Saturday s events. Cst: $15.00 per individual event, $20.00 per relay. The Meet Referee, at his discretin, t save time, may rerder the day s scheduled events r cmbine events int a single heat. A swimmer desiring a time trial must infrm the Meet Referee, r his designee, nt later than 10:30 am f the day the time trial is desired. Each swimmer participating in these events shuld prvide a timer and/r a cunter. 4

5 PENALTIES: Penalties fr entries using fraudulent and/r nn-verifiable entry times: Swimmer shall be marked as exhibitin fr the event entered illegally and the event shall be re-scred and awarded. Club may be fined $100 fr each ffense, and a recrd f such ffenses shall be kept and published as part f the fficial meet results. Clubs entering swimmers nt legally registered with USA Swimming by the first day f the meet may be fined $100 per swimmer in each event s entered. If the swimmer is representing a club in cmpetitin, the fine will be levied n the Club. If the swimmer is unattached, the fine will be levied n the swimmer. On the last day f a VSI Senir Champinship Meet please make every effrt t declare intent t scratch t prvide cmpetitin pprtunity fr thers. A swimmer wh psitively checks-in and declares their intent t swim fr a distance event and des nt shw up t cmpete will nt be able t swim his/her next event. RULES: The current USA Swimming Rules and Regulatins will apply. A listing f any entries lacking prf f time will als be prvided t caches and must be dealt with as described in the ENTRIES sectin abve. Unattached athletes must have a supervising cach as per USA Swimming rule Athletes listed as UNAT-CLUB will be supervised by a cach frm the named club and all entry/scratch related material will be placed in the respective club cach s packet. Athletes listed as UNAT must check in at the Clerk-f-Curse and be assigned a supervising cach in rder t warm-up and t cmpete. All swimmers participating in the meet must be dive certified. Swimmers unaccmpanied by a USA-S cach must be certified by a USA-S cach as prficient in perfrming a racing start r must start each race frm within the water. Ensuring cmpliance is the respnsibility f the swimmer r the swimmer s legal guardian. The verhead start prcedure will be used fr the preliminary sessins and fr timed finals (distance) sessins. Use f audi r visual recrding devises, including cell phnes, is nt permitted in changing areas, rest rms r lcker rms. In additin, phtgraphy behind the blcks is nt permitted. The scratch prcedures listed in current USA Swimming Rules and Regulatins, Article A-E will apply with the fllwing mdificatins: Scratches frm Individual Events: Will be c-lcated at the Psitive Check-in Table Scratches fr Friday s events are due by 2:30 pm, Thursday. Psitive check-in fr the 200 M Freestyle Relay is due by 6:30 pm, Friday. Psitive check-in fr the 400 M Medley Relay is due by 9:30 am, Saturday. If a team des nt designate a preference they may be assigned t the evening finals if their team is next in line t fill pen lanes in the tw heats at finals. Athletes wanting t swim the 800 M Freestyle in the afternn and nt in the fastest heat swimming in finals must designate that desire n the check-in sheet prir t the clse f the scratch bx n Saturday evening. 5

6 All distance swims MUST psitively check-in and declare their intent t swim by the scratch deadline fr that day s event TO BE SEEDED. Swimmers failing t scratch events which if swum wuld put them in vilatin f either the 3 event per day r the 6 events in the meet, will nt be permitted t swim the event r events. The events t be eliminated will be cunted in strict numerical sequence as listed in the meet invitatin. N ther penalty will be applied. The scratch rule regarding finals will apply t all 4 evening heats D Bnus, C Bnus, Cnslatin, Finals) excluding the relays, the 1500 M Freestyle, and the 800 M Freestyle. SCRATCHES FROM FINALS can nly be dne directly with the Administrative Referee. All ther Scratches/Psitive Check in shall be made at the Scratch bx which shall be lcated at the Psitive check in table until the General Meeting, at the General Meeting and then at the Clerk f Curse table. The Meet Referee in accrdance with in the USA Swimming Rules and Regulatins will appint a Meet Jury. TIMERS: Clubs may be required t prvide timers in prprtin t the number f swimmers they have entered in each sessin. GENERAL: A Caches Meeting will be held at 8:25 am, July 22, Caches are accuntable fr the infrmatin presented. Accrdingly, please make sure that there is at least ne representative frm yur club in attendance. The meeting will be held in the Hspitality Rm. Hspitality: A light breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be prvided fr caches and fficials. Caches and fficials wh have special dietary cncerns r needs shuld bring their wn fd and beverages. All participants agree nt t use the medals r phts, prtraits r films f themselves with their medals, which participants receive fr their perfrmances in this cmpetitin, fr the purpses f trade. FACILITY RULES: Access t the deck is limited t caches, athletes, meet fficials, and event staff. Spectatrs will nt be allwed n deck unless vlunteering as timers; lap cunters, r at ther needed vlunteer psitins.
