Riley, Jr. Park Charleston, S.C. 7:05 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 RHP Kelvin Vasquez (0-1, 2.84 ERA) Today s Starters RHP David Palladino (0-1, 5.06 ERA) Last RiverDogs Game: May 3 RiverDogs Bounce Back, Silence the Dads 3-0 Charleston shakes off Saturday s loss and earns second win of series against Hickory South Atlantic League Lefty Jordan Montgomery fired six scoreless innings and the Charleston RiverDogs recovered from last night s loss to shut out the Hickory Crawdads 3-0 Sunday night at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Charleston got on the board early against Hickory s starting pitcher Collin Wiles. The RiverDogs loaded the bases and then Connor Spencer walked to drive in Ty McFarland from third base. The RiverDogs added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth. Devyn Bolasky hit a double with one out in the fifth, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a base hit by Jorge Mateo. The RiverDogs loaded the bases again in the sixth and scored on another RBI walk. Brandon Thomas drew the walk and picked up the RBI as Angel Aguilar came home to score. Sean Carley and Joe Harvey slammed the door on the Crawdads in relief of Montgomery and preserved the shutout. Hickory left runners in scoring position in each of the last five innings and left 11 men on base for the second night in a row. Montgomery snapped his two-game losing streak and picked up his third win of the season. Today s Starters: HIC: RHP Kelvin Vasquez took the loss in his last start at Greensboro despite only giving up one run in the outing. The Crawdads offense was quiet and gave him no runs of support in the first five innings of a 3-1 loss.
