Barkman (part) Public Present: 4 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 9:02 a.m. 2. ADOPTION OF MINUTES.1 Minutes of the April 24, 2017 Meeting ( ) Moved by R. Chard, seconded by E. Garry, that the minutes of the Transportation Advisory Committee meeting held April 24, 2017, be adopted. TAC DELEGATIONS 1. P. Withers, # Yale Court, regarding traffic concerns on Old Yale Road and Yale Court The delegation provided information regarding traffic and pedestrian concerns on Old Yale Road and Yale Court. The information included the increase in traffic volume, residential densification, road classification, posted speed signage, vehicles and/or cyclists attempting to make a left turn when exiting Yale Court onto Old Yale Road and more pedestrian cross walks. The Committee discussed the traffic calming request highlighted by the delegate. Staff will review the requests provided by the delegation and present a report to the Transportation Advisory Committee at its next available meeting, based on priorities and resources, and prepare a report to Council. Moved by C. Schafer, seconded by D. Miller, that the delegation of P. Withers, regarding traffic concerns on Old Yale Road and Yale Court, be received for information. TAC

REPORTS Gas Tax Strategic Priority Fund Application for Fraser Highway Corridor Improvements ( ) (ENG I ) The Senior Transportation Manager reported on the 2017 Gas Tax Strategic Fund Application for the Fraser Highway Corridor Improvements. If the City is successful in receiving the Gas Tax Strategic Priority Fund Grant staff is recommending that four signalized intersections, west of Mount Lehman Road, new right-turn lanes and extensions of existing left-turn lanes, be constructed. Additionally, the installation of centre-turn lanes in strategic locations along the corridor will reduce the impact of turning vehicles and allow cross movements of farm vehicles accessing lands across Fraser Highway. These measures are estimated at $7 million and will improve the existing conditions along the Fraser Highway Corridor until the year Staff will be working to make the submission to the Gas Tax Strategic Priorities Fund by the June 1, 2017 deadline. Moved by D. Miller, seconded by B. Friesen, that the Report No. ENG I , from the Senior Transportation Manager, regarding the 2017 Gas Tax Strategic Priority Fund Application for Fraser Highway Corridor Improvements, be received for information. TAC NEW BUSINESS.1 Plan200K Committee Workshop Invitation The Senior Transportation Manager gave an overview of the Plan200K Committee Workshop Invitation on May 25, The invitation is for all Council Committee members to attend the World Café taking the opportunity to go to each department and discuss the Master Plans that are being developed within the City. The Transportation and Transit Master Plan representatives will include Urban Systems, BC Transit and the Senior Transportation Manager. Moved by R. Chard, seconded by B. Friesen, that the Verbal Report and PowerPoint Presentation regarding the Plan200K Committee Workshop Invitation, from the Senior Transportation Manager, be received for information. TAC

4 Minutes of the Transportation Advisory Committee meeting held May 15, 2017 at 9:02 a.m. in Room 530 of Abbotsford City Hall Page 3.2 Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) May 2017 Follow Up Items The Director, Infrastructure and Planning, updated the Committee on the Fraser Highway corridor; Mount Lehman roundabout (High Street); and the Old Yale Road and DeLair Road intersection. Future developments would require a traffic study, including a review of the Mt. Lehman roundabout operations and a review by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI). Engineering staff will prepare a report regarding the Fraser Highway corridor for future Council meeting. The Old Yale Road and DeLair Road intersection and the Whatcom Road to Marshall Road corridor traffic counts require analyzing and warrants are under review. Moved by C. Schafer, seconded by R.
