Always point out that your fundraising benefits the American Cancer Society. ask everyone! Most people who su cceed at fun dra ising say they make a point of asking almost everyone they know. List all your acquaintances: family, friends, club members, pen pals, co-workers, business associates, vendors, clients... and businesses you frequent. Ask them to contribute. Think about people with whom you share holiday greetings, and who you d invite to a family event. Ask them to help out for a worthy cause. how to ask Address people by name if possible. Make sure yo ur sponso rs know to make checks payable to American Cancer Society, Bike-a-thon so they can receive a tax deduction. Remind everyone that thousands of companies and organizations offer matching-gift programs. Start now at and log onto the Participant Login with the username and password you set up when you registered. Clicking the Login button takes you to the Participant Center. 1 Participant Center Click on this to get to home page of participant center. 2 Personal Page Click this to set up your personal fundraising page choose a layout template, change colors, add your own story about why you take part in the Bike-a-thon, and add your own photos. 3 A d d ress Book You can import contents of existing address books from your regular provider with a few clicks. 5 online fundraising for cyclists and volunteers Setting up your address book in the Bike-a-thon Participant Center Go to and enter your username and password in Participant Login Click on Participant Center From Home Page of Participant Center, click on Address Book (with picture of open book) You can create and maintain a personal Convio* Address Book that contains the addresses of your family, friends, and coworkers and keep them handy so that, in just a few clicks, you can select and send an appeal for support or thank you . You can also log in from anywhere and use your Address Book because it is online rather than on your computer s hard drive. Importing contacts into your address book Instead of manually typing each name and address into messages you compose within Convio fundraising applications, you can easily import existing contact information from another application you are using. Then, each time you compose an , you can select your contacts from the Convio Address Book. Most applications allow you to create a contacts file by exporting the existing address book into a file that you can then upload to this Web site. If you are not currently using another application, you can build a generic CSV file and use that to import contacts all at one time. You ll find detailed instructions for importing addresses from yahoo!, AOL and other popular online sources at www. acsbike.org. Your outstanding performance brings you elite perks and benefits, and of course the pride of striking a major blow against cancer. Pacesetter Club Pacesetter Club members are a select group of cyclists who raise over $1,000 in the Bike-a-thon. Once you reach or surpass $1,000 in donations by noon on Sat., July 10, you'll be a member of the Pacesetter Club. Your Pacesetter Club Perks include: Special Yellow Bib Number indicating place in which you finished in overall fundraising (e.g. Number 1 raised the most)* Special Commemorative Cycling Jersey Pacesetter sticker on your bib number Event T-shirt will be mailed to you.
