8 . nvestment in transport improvements is an essential part of irmingham s future growth and prosperity. he redevelopment of aradise will not only generate thousands of new jobs but will also help to improve access across the city for both road users and pedestrians. aradise will deliver: ew road layouts to ease traffic flow. ide, level pedestrian routes making it easier and safer to move between the Jewellery uarter, road treet, olmore usiness istrict and the city centre. n addition, aradise will support proposals to extend the etro tram network to entenary quare and to develop the first irmingham print bus route between the city centre and uinton. aradise is part of a city-wide programme to transform the way people and goods move across the city. hrough the long-term irmingham onnected strategy for transport, the city will benefit from an unprecedented level of investment. n addition to aradise, work programmes being delivered in 2015 include essential repairs around Junction 6 of the 6 (paghetti Junction/ravelly ill) and lay-out changes to improve traffic flow at several important junctions on the ring road. he scale of the improvement programme will place pressure on irmingham s road network. he first advice is to use public transport, walk or cycle whenever possible. lternatives include car sharing with friends and colleagues or avoiding peak morning and evening periods by staggered work times. f you do need to use your car, avoid the aradise area if possible by choosing alternative routes. f you need to drive and cannot avoid the aradise area, please allow more time for your journey. pdates will be posted at: birmingham.gov.uk/connected or public transport journey planning, visit networkwestmidlands.com
