5 The Amazing Rec Race Event collateral: 5x7 clue card design 5x7 clue cards created with same logo/style; given to participants during the race Ensures that participants are participating in The Amazing Rec Race and that they received an official clue card 1 Clue: This former Buckeye won four gold medals in the 1936 Olympics and is recognized at many places around campus; head south to the building which is named for this athlete. 2 Each team member has one minute to complete the following tasks: 3 Clue: This building on Ohio State s campus bears the same name as the University of Illinois main campus recreation building. Once here, head by the railroad tracks and you will find your next clue. 6 DETOUR: DOWN a. Junk in your trunk empty all of the ping pong balls out of the shoebox strapped around your waist. Here, you will find your next clue. b. Suction cup transfer 3 pieces of candy onto 3 separate straws on a table using the provided straw and your suction power. *Each team member must complete each activity in one minute. You can switch tasks, but each teammate must successfully complete an activity before moving on. 4 In this challenge, your team is responsible for gathering items in your canoe. You must carry the canoe with your partner over your head each direction. Start with an empty canoe; at each end you carry the canoe to, bring back ONE item. You must continue to do this until all items are in the canoe and at the finish line. 5 Clue: This person works for the Department of Recreational Sports. Putting challenge One partner must make a putt from the designated location. If anything falls out at any point, you must start over. Find his office and you will receive your next clue. 7 Clue: Head to this spot on 11th Avenue where roller hockey is popular. 8 ROADBLOCK: The partner who sat out the last activity must complete this challenge. Standing behind the designated line, make a goal through the cutout on the hockey goal. 9 Clue: Bill and Mae are the husband and wife whose last names appear on this campus building. Once here, head to the north side for your next clue.
