2 WELCOME TO AUSTCHAM 10KM CHALLENGE 29 th September 2018 Dear Singapore and Overseas Dragon Boat Teams, PULL HARDER, LONGER AND DEEPER! Introducing Singapore s only 10 Kilometres dragon boat race! The race that be sure to test your team's endurance and teamwork. This September, close to 30 international and local dragon boat teams will be making a splash Austcham 10km Challenge at the beautiful water of Marina Reservoir. The ultimate Austcham 10km Challenge is back on Saturday, 29th September 2018 at Marina Reservoir/Kallang Basin. For new paddlers who wish to get a feel of the 10km challenge, the brand new 5km Challenge is the perfect option for you. IT S. ONLY. 10KM!! ARE YOU IN?!

3 1. RACE SCHEDULE This race will be governed by the International Dragon Boat Federation s Disciplinary Code and Rules of Racing found on the SDBA s website: sdba.org.sg. Please refer to: i. RACE CATEGORIES 10km Challenge: DB19-crew Mixed 5km Challenge: DB11-crew Open 3. AWARDS Cash Prize will be awarded to the top 3 teams of the 10km challenge. Trophy and Medals will be awarded to top 3 positions of each category The winning team s name will be engraved on the 10km Challenge Plaque & 5km Challenger Plaque and will retain possession of it until the following year when the next AustCham 10km Challenge is again held. In the event an overseas team comes in as champion, the teams name will be engraved on the plauque and SBDA will hold possession of the Plaque.

4 4. RACE BY-LAWS Please refer to the AustCham 10km Challenge Entry Rules for more details. In general: - 1. Team must be led by a Team Manager. 2. DB19-crew Mixed 10km Challenge composition: 18 paddlers with minimum 6 ladies, 1 steersperson; total = 19 athletes 3. DB11-crew Open 5km Challenge composition: 10 paddlers, 1 steersperson; total = 11 athletes 4. Wearing of ISO Standard or equivalent Personal Floatation Device (PFD) or lifevests is compulsory by Singapore law. Overseas club teams may bring their own ISO Standard or equivalent PFD. 5. Only the IDBF Spec.202a paddles (wood or carbon fibre) are permitted. Overseas club teams may bring their own IDBF standard paddles. 6. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry at its sole discretion. 7. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the race program at its sole discretion. 8. ENTRY FEES Entry Fee (including 7% GST) Affiliate Non-Affiliate / Overseas Team Boat rental fee will be waived for overseas teams. 5 6. ENTRY REQUIREMENT Racing age limit: Minimum 12 years old as of 30 September 2018 This event is open to all club team, school teams or corporate teams. However, overseas team may only participate in the DB19-crew Mixed 10km Challenge.. Priority of entry for DB11-crew Open 5km Challenge will be given to below teams: - All School teams (non-tertiary teams) CSC teams Corporate teams Public Services teams 7. REGISTRATION Registration will be open on 1 st July 2018, Overseas teams may to race@sdba.org.sg to indicate your interest, by 30 April ENQUIRY Please drop us an at race@sdba.org.sg. 9. ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORTATION FOR OVERSEAS TEAM a) Overseas teams will have to pay for their accommodation and transportation costs. b) Overseas teams may exercise the option of booking their own accommodation and/or transportation.
