Thank You, Lynn Hawk- Finance Director Club Hawthorne Council Golden Fifty/Eighty Club the Event will be held January 22, 2019 This special event was started by Colonial Penn in the late 1970 s and has continued on every year since. The officers and Steering Committee want to be sure you are honored. How is this done? First you MUST have registered your birthday and Anniversary with the PROGRAM OFFICE so the committee has this record. For you to be honored in 2019 your 50 th Anniversary must have been in 2018(married in 1968).80 in 2018 (born in 1938). PLEASE let the program office know these dates before December 1, 2018 so our committee can have the records. You can call Debbie Provost at the Program Office at to be sure you are on the list. Once you have reached either milestone you are automatically a member of the Golden Fifty Eighty Club and should be part of the yearly celebration. Any questions contact Gil Schleweis or Dorothy Fournier The Hawthorne Players Say Enough! Enough dancing mice, twittering prima donnas and overgrown toy soldiers! The real drama takes place after the final curtain comes down. The Hawthorne Angel is a spirited Christmas performance of song, crises and surprises presented by the Hawthorne Players. Just skitter into the auditorium following the Tree Lighting event. Fran Courchesne and Ralph Chavez are cast in the leading roles. Jane Lichtenberger is the writer and director of this clever play. The free performance is the Hawthorne Players gift and thanks to our Hawthorne community for its continuing support all through the years. ATTENTION- ALL CLUBS TREASURERS Page 4 of 5
5 After the Club Hawthorne Group Meeting in October interest was expressed in having a seminar just for treasurers with info that is pertinent to their role in the club. To address that request we now have a seminar for new and veteran treasures in the works. The goal is to provide all of you with the knowledge needed to easily fulfill your responsibility with stress free confidence. It is scheduled for Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Marina at 10:00 AM. This seminar will focus on all things Treasurer related and will last approximately 1 hour. We encourage all treasurers, regardless of whether you are new or a seasoned keeper of the funds, to attend. There is always something new to be learned, and for those of us that seem to have been doing it forever, a refresher course is never a bad thing. Of course, true to Hawthorne tradition, refreshments will be served. Please mark the date on your calendars and if can t attend, please send a representative in your place so they can bring the info back to you. Please RSVP to Debbie in the Program Office as soon as possible. Looking forward to seeing all of you on the 7 th. Lynn Hawk Club Hawthorne Finance Director MESSAGE FROM THE HRCA BOARD We wish you a safe, healthy and happy holiday season. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! MANAGER S MESSAGE While visiting or using Hawthorne s clubhouse, marina and sports areas please note where emergency buttons are located. Do you in an emergency know where the closest emergency button is located? Seconds count in emergencies. Knowing the button locations could save a life. AARP Weekly Health Tip Studies say sitting for long periods may lead to obesity, high blood pressure, cancer and heart disease. Try using TV commercials to get up and walk around.
