2 2 Moose Family Center No L.O.O.M. Lodge No W.O.T.M. Chapter No Clay Street, Woodstock, IL Office Phone: Lodge Phone: Moose Call: Website: Governors Message December is here and the Holidays are upon us. It seems like just a few months ago we were breaking from the cold and waiting for warm weather to come our way. But the Holidays are great times to relax from the hustle and bustle, and spend some time with our family and friends, both inside and outside of our lodge home. We have many Holiday events coming up between now and the New Year, and many events following that in January. We do hope you will try and enjoy these events with us, but we do ask that you try and make your decisions as early as possible. Many of these events are ticketed events, and even though we are all guilty of waiting until the last minute to get our tickets, it does make it that much harder for those planning the events, and for our chef to prepare the food for these events. So this year consider signing up as soon as possible. It will help a lot! Many of you have decided to take part in our 2 for 1 membership campaign running through the end of the Month. You can sign two members for the price of one; get free dues from Moose International next year, and one new addition. Moose International has added their own special campaign. Everyone who signs a member gets their name in a drawing for a Daytona 500 trip and some $500 gift cards. Check out for more information. Last and probably most important. Remember that many people across the nation are going through some tough times right now. The holidays that should bring joy, may also be more worrisome for those thinking of the extra cost for presents, etc. Let s all try and do our best to help where we can, give when we re able, and remember that a kind word everyday to someone can go a long way to making someone s day more bearable in these tough times. Most of all though, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my fellow Moose members! Governor, Randy Tipps From the Desk of the Administrator The Holidays are here and with all the hustle and bustle, shopping, people coming over and for you maybe its a trip through the woods and over to grandma s house. Whatever the case may be, the board of officers and myself wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The lodge is open through the Holidays with the exception of Christmas Day and an early close on Christmas Eve at 6:30pm so you and your love ones can enjoy the holiday together in the comfort of your homes. We ve had a good year - down some what from years past but the future is looking brighter as we head into Our 94th year - not many lodges can say that. My thanks to our forefathers who worked hard and gave a lot to make enjoying this lodge and fraternity possible over the years. Not to take away from the present boards, Men & Women, they are a hard working bunch also and with help from all you volunteers who make it possible - I, along with the board thank you for every thing that you do. We may not have a new lodge building with new furniture but we are working towards remolding projects all the time, that s why it is so important that when you receive those tickets in the mail about 4 times a year to send them back to support our lodge for We urge all our members to visit at least weekly, for the latest news on Mooseheart, Moosehaven, Moose Charities plus updates on fraternal activities, sporting events and other breaking news from around the Moose fraternity! In the Members Only section (password - nashville you can also pay your dues instantly, and change details about yourself in your individual member file. Everyone will pay $5.00 with desserts provided by our members. We will meet at noon on December 8th. Birthdays for the month were Roger Close and Mary Kiefer. Door prizes went to Loretta, Doris and Glenn. Attendance was won by Peg Stock. Motion was made by Doris at 1:40 to adjourn. Second made by Len. We will be collecting dues for the year 2011 at our December and January meetings. Nominations for next year s officers will be held at our January meeting. Bingo and cards were played. Submitted by Secretary Peg Plimmer Bingo This is a plea to all of our members. We need your help. Our ability to give donations to the many community and Moose Charity needs in past years have been funded by our Bingo profits. Because of our economy our Bingo attendance has declined greatly which means very small profits. We need better support from our members in order to continue our Community Service image of the past. For $20.00 you can play all of our games which will help our cause but can also give you an opportunity to win some money. Our games pay out is according to our attendance so the more people we have the better the payouts will be. As I write this article on the 11th of November, next week our coverall could put $ in your pocket in time for the holiday buying. Every week there are at least 3 games that pay out at least $ We now have some very good options for food while you are here. Dave has a great menu and we all know that the food is excellent. So the bottom line is, please come on in on Wednesday nights and help us out. We start playing at 7:00pm and are usually done by 9:30pm. For questions please give me a call. Bingo chairman - Peg Plimmer Hats, Gloves and Scarves There is a box set up in the lodge lobby to collect these items to be donated to the Woodstock Xmas Clearing House. Please bring your donations by December 14th so I can take items on the 15th. Keep in mind if you would like to donate toys (unopened) or food, boxes are always set up for your donations.
