This is a special time of the year with Christmas and New Years a time to celebrate and a time to give thanks for this great lodge and the members that support it. We have a busy month ahead with such events as Kids Christmas, Shop w/santa, a 50th wedding anniversary, a couple of birthday parties, the Bears vs. Packers on Christmas Day and then it will be time to bring in the New Year and the 94th year of the Woodstock Moose Lodge. 7 Volume 93, Issue 12 Continued from page 4 going. Without all of your help the Moose would not be able to have bingo. I know our current economy has hurt our attendance but we have gotten through this year with some very loyal players. To those people I say thanks. You still have time to attend and try to win the $ coverall or the Crossfire which is over $ as I write this article. What a great Christmas that would be for someone. Both games can be played for as little as $7.00. Come in for a night of fun and try for the big pots. Submitted by Bingo Chairman Peg Plimmer Woodstock Moose Partners with the Adopt-A-Highway Program The Woodstock Moose Family Center has recently partnered with the City of Woodstock by agreeing to a 2 year commitment in the cities Adopt-A-Highway program We have signed an agreement with the city to clean up a mile section of Washington Street that runs from the train station to the west side of the Woodstock city limits at least four times a year. The responsibilities of the Lodge are set forth in sections 25 and 30 of the Illinois Adopt-A-Highway Act. This clean up activity can be reported to Mooseheart to help with our community service obligations for our lodge. This is an opportunity to show what our members can give back to the community, as this is a non-court ordered community service event. Our thought is to have a clean up in the fall, spring, and two summer events. Watch for sign-up sheets and notices in upcoming Moose Call s throughout the year, to sign up and take part in this Community Service Activity. Should you have any questions feel free to contact Dave Zimmerle or Randy Tipps. We are attempting to bring back this introduction to the Fraternity s history, purpose and obligations. Joining the Ritual staff will require a commitment of an hour or two a week, memorization of an approximately 150 word speech, and a commitment to excellence. Formal enrollments were dropped from the Fraternity 2 years ago, presumably due to sloppy and unprofessional enrollments from the Lodges. This is not the attitude or commitment we are looking for in reforming this staff. We are seeking dedicated people who are willing to commit to excellence. The Woodstock and Harvard Lodges have a long tradition of Ritual excellence. If you remember your enrollment, and appreciated the dedicated Members who were committed to bringing you a professional ritual enrollment, and would like to offer that experience to our newest Members, please contact the Office of the Woodstock or Harvard Moose Lodge during regular business hours.
