2 APRIL IS NATIONAL LIBRARY MONTH! School Library Week: April 10-14, 2017 Friday, April 7 the Free State Library every day next week to check out a book and get a special treat. Stop by the library we have a lot to offer! Monday, April 10 special treat. Did you know that the library is open Monday-Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM and F from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM? It is a great place to study before and after school. In addition, we offer tutoring in the library. The math department offers tutoring every Monday and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 AND there is general tutoring every weekday from 3:30-5:00. Stop by the Free State Library we have a lot to offer! Tuesday, April 11 special treat. Today is National Library Workers Day. Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Everett are always happy to help you find the resources you need to get your work done! 3 HEY FIREBIRDS! Are you a sophomore or junior interested in welcoming our incoming Freshman to Free State? Do you have energy, accept others from all backgrounds and have a supportive attitude? If so, consider being a Link Leader for the school year. Sign up forms are in the library. There is an application and contract and you'll need two teacher recommendations. Selected Link Leaders will be notified before school ends. Consider being a part of this silly, energetic, welcoming group of Firebird Leaders! Applications for Senior Class, Junior Class and Sophomore Class Leadership Team representatives will be available on Wednesday, April 12th. The applications are located in Mrs. Rock's and Ms. Wright's room and will be due on Wednesday, April 19th. 4-11/4-18 STUDENT BODY ELECTIONS. Student Body Elections will be held this Wednesday during lunch. Juniors, Sophomores and Freshman are encouraged to vote for their choice to serve as Student Body Co- Presidents, Secretary and Public Relations. 4-11/4-12 HEY FIREBIRDS. It's time for the last play of the year! The Annual BBTF-our school's student written and directed plays! We have plays from Colton Smith, Chris Pendry, Elizabeth Zollner, Ryan Leibold and our Improv team will be performing!!! Tickets will be at the door for only $3 for students!! Luke Bosco received 2nd place in the Manipulated Illustration category, and Elizabeth Mullins placed in the Typography category s Top 5. If you see either of them, give them a high five for their awesome work! IMPROV AUDITIONS! IMPROV auditions-after school Monday in the Black Box Theater!! Congratulations to the Girls Swim and Dive team for their win last night at the Free State 6 Team Invitational. Ava Cormaney won the 200 Individual Medley and Claire Campbell won the 200 and 400 Free. The team finished strong with a 1st in the 400 Free Relay team with Janet Stefanov, Kasey Dunn, Ainsley Krug, Claire Campbell. The individual 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishes contributed to the team points that gain our title! CONGRATS TO THE FREE STAT BAND STUDENTS and their success at Regional Solo & Ensemble Music Festival on Saturday.
