The Tri-City Corvette Club (TCCC) newsletter is published monthly by volunteers and members of the TCCC. Subscription rates are free for members. Membership lists and financial data are not published. For change of address and all other TCCC inquiries, write to: Tri-City Corvette Club, P.O. Box 636, Nederland, TX, TCCC is An Unincorporated Non-Profit Association, which raises money for and participates with various local children s charities and high school college scholarship programs. Dues and donations are not tax deductible. We strive to promote exciting, safe & fun ways to enjoy our Corvettes. We hold business meetings on the first Tuesday of each month. Our monthly business meeting usually incorporates a social time before and after the meeting. Our socials are always fun and are focused on getting to know one another. We have cookouts, day trips and weekend trips, and TCCC caravans to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We participate in tours, holiday parades, and homecoming events at various high schools. We also participate in various car shows. Club dues are $35 per person per year and are paid annually by the June business meeting. These dues cover the cost of running the club. Club officers, board and committee chairpersons serve as volunteers.

4 September 2016 Issue Page 4 Presidents MESSAGE Mike White The September meeting opened with 42 members and 4 guests in attendance. Our guests: Harry and Lajaunda Williams, (their third meeting) and Kevin and Leslie Shephard from Mauriceville. Kevin and Leslie joined us for the Galveston Run last month. News: Lynn & Judy Snowden s daughter developed a blood clot in her lung and in her arm. They just got her back from the hospital to recover. Coach had to have a stint in his heart to help clear up a blood clot in his leg. Coach is now home recovering. Buzzy was back in Houston for his checkup after his back surgery. He should be home today. We need to keep them all in our prayers. John Decker was not present, so Pat Francis VP and Rose Hall reported that the club has been invited to the October 1st performance of the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at the Kirby Hill House in Kountze. See details in the upcoming events. John Berry reported that at the August 23 board meeting, we are anticipating adding more classes to the judging of our annual corvette show, namely, Z06 and ZR1 classes, Charlie Buteaud has the club flags for sale to our members. They are 2' X 3' and are $30.00 each. You can contact him at , at charlesbuteaud@yahoo.com, or on Facebook. As of now, there are 14 flags left. What a great trip to Galveston, Thanks to John Decker and the Activities Committee. Last month the Big Boys Toyz held their 4th annual Corvette Show at Sombrero s in Mid-County. Tri-City Corvette Club Members took 7 trophies. Congratulations.

Thanks Mike White President Matilda Report John Berry presented Matilda to Bonnie McLaughlin who drew the lucky ticket. She is now the keeper of Matilda for two months. Matilda is the TCCC Mascot and has traveled extensively throughout the world and she is back! At a monthly meeting we will draw a ticket to see who gets to travel with Matilda for two months and after two months they will report at the meeting where Matilda has been. Once you get Matilda. You must 1. Treat her as a member of the family and bring her to ALL TCCC meetings and events. 2. IF THE TCCC travels, you must take her with you and provide a pin or some sort of indication of where she has been.

It s homecoming time for the local high schools and Lamar University, so please check these dates and try to participate in their parades. Great advertisement and good community relations for our club from the local communities. Thanks Charlie, I got my flag (what a neat flag it is) and now I need a stand. Corvette museum or buy locally? What you say Charlie, are you going to start producing the stands? How s that for pressure. Hope to see all of you at all the events this month!!! Sept 23, 2016 Orangefield High School Homecoming, 11 Corvettes needed. POC is Mike White. Sept 24, 2016 Silsbee Cruise n Car Show. 8 am 4 pm, awards at 3 pm with cruise to follow. Kirby Memorial Football Stadium, 1005 N. 7th, Silsbee. Information at We will meet at Cowboy Chevrolet and have our cars judged. We will register for the show at Cowboy s, have lunch and caravan to the show site with police escort. October 1, 2016 Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at the Kirby House in Kountze, Texas. For reservations call the Holiday Inn, 372 Voters Road, Slidell, Louisiana, (985) The block code for the rooms is Corvette Car Show, $99.00 per night w/ breakfast. October 22, th Annual Bayou State Corvette Club Corvette Show at Cajun Harley Davidson before Lafayette (I-10 Scott Road exit). Registration at 8 am with judging at 11 am. Entry fee is $40. POC is Mike White with caravan to the show. October 22, 2016 Sam Houston Corvette Show at Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, Texas. Entry fee is $35. October 29, 2016 Lamar Homecoming Parade, will need approximately 21 cars. Parade begins at 1 pm. POC is Cathy Long. November 13, 2016 TCCC picnic. 9 September 2016 Issue Page 9 ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE REPORT Hello TCCC members from the Activities Committee We had a great turnout for our Galveston Fun Day on August 20th. 45 people were able to make the event with a total of 25 beautiful Corvettes making it to Galveston. Turned out to be a really great day! October 1st will be the date for our "Mystery Dinner Theater Night" at the beautiful Kirby Hill House in Kountze. The cost is $64 per person and reservations are required by Friday, September 9th. It will a great night of dinner, friends and mystery. You don't want to miss it! The activities committee is hard at work planning our 1st Annual TCCC Picnic. We are hoping to have this in November. Stay tuned for details... Our annual club banquet will be held January 7th at the Pompano Club. Andrea is working up some really special things for this years event. We are planning an El Toro (Baytown) run in February. 15 September 2016 Issue Page 15 Tri-City Corvette Club Meeting Minutes Date: September 6, 2016 Meeting Location: Rockin A Cafe, Beaumont, TX President President Mike White opened the meeting at 7:00 PM. He began the meeting with a moment of silence for our fallen officers, service personnel and all that serve us in uniform today. He asked that we all keep them in our prayers. Mike welcomed our guests: Harry and Lawanda Williams to their third meeting and Kevin and Leslie Shephard from Mauriceville. Kevin and Leslie joined us for the Galveston Run last month. Vice-President/Activities Director See the VP report included in the VP comments section of the newsletter. Treasurer Chip presented the financial report that all is well and also reminded everyone that if you need to pay your dues to check in with him. Secretary Cathy was not present but Mike White reminded the club that the minutes are on our website. He also presented the birthdays and anniversaries for the club for September. Membership Director Linda Buteaud reminded everyone that if you have a change in contact information to let her know. Sponsorship/Marketing Committee Report Brad Metz reported all is well with sponsorship. Scholarship/Charities Committee Report Cathy was not present. Mike had nothing to report at this time. Car Show Committee Report/Various Committee Reports: John Decker was not present so Pat Francis, VP, and Rose Hall reported that the club has been invited to the October 1 st performance of the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at the Kirby Hill House in Kountze. See details in the upcoming events. John Berry reported that at the August 23 rd Board Meeting we discussed looking at adding more classes to the judging of our annual corvette show, those being Z06 and ZR1. John also gave up Matilda our Mascot to Bonnie McLaughlin for the upcoming 2 months.

Brad Metz reminded everyone that the Metz s Crystal Beach Corvette Club Party Run is October 8 th. National Corvette Museum Report Glenn and Andrea just got back from a Board Meeting at the NCM and said the Museum is moving to a higher level to bring in younger members into the NCM. Glenn is tracking the Tri-City Corvette Club membership to the Museum and said for a club our size that we are doing well and also doing well on the Lifetime Members and thanks the club for that. Glenn thanked the club for participating in the NCM Parking Lot Banner Program again this year. This year the Club Banner has been hung in the Winners Circle in front of the NCM. The TCCC banner that Ronnie Jones designed won 2 nd place. Glenn presented Ronnie with the banner and the plaque at the meeting. Glenn also announced the dates of the 2017 caravan which will be 7/21/17 thru 7/30/17. The National Corvette Museum, located in Bowling Green, KY, is a world class facility that showcases the world famous sports car called the Corvette. My purpose, as your NCM Ambassador, is to provide our club with a two way communication link to the NCM. My mission will be that of receiving and disseminating the most current and correct information from the NCM and to convey that information to our club. I will be acting as the Museum representative and will be promoting and soliciting support for the NCM through promotional activities and encouraging other club members to join the NCM. Finally, I will serve as the voice of our Corvette club to the NCM Communicating concerns, ideas and suggestions our club may have to the NCM.
