Welcome Jackson Welcome to the newest little Celt in town. His name is Jackson McGregor and his folks are John & Jacquie McGregor. The word is that he is super cute...naturally since he's John & Jacquie's boy! Can't wait for him to come to events. In 2010, The Way, a film about the pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago, also known as The Way of St. James, was released. Starring Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez (who also directed), this is the story of a father s journeys both physical and emotional in claiming the ashes of his son who died in a storm while trekking the same route. In addition to the profound changes the journey makes on a human level, the film portrays the majesty of the geographic region of Galicia.

Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain Original Virtual Visitor Posting from April, 2002: Today I m in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia in the northwest corner of Spain and the year is 1565 A.D. This bustling cosmopolitan city, with its new university, is a magnet for young people from all over Galicia. The city has been a mecca for the religiously devout for the past 700 years since the discovery in the 9th century of the remains of the Apostle St. James. I have walked from the city of Lugo, founded in the 3rd century by Celts. Lugo, with its well-known thermal springs, is a welcome rest stop for pilgrims making their way here via several well-established roads from the east. On my journey I have passed countless horreos, the traditional grain storage sheds made of large stones, and I have seen a wide variety of storks, and teal and mallard ducks along the rias or estuaries. Wild boar have provided succulent meals and the wine has been plentiful. Percussion Recital NACHS member and Knockabout, Julianne Layton will be presenting her Junior recital at NAU on April 15th. Her recital will feature world music and the Knockabouts will be a part of it. The recital is free and starts at 7:30 at Audry Auditorium Knockabouts in concert at the Irish Culture Center The Knockabouts will be presenting a concert at the Irish Culture Center in Phoenix on June 2nd. The Knockabouts will be performing a concert of mostly Scottish music and gives the band an opportunity to perform some of thier more "relaxed" music. Contact the ICC for ticket information
