1 New York City!!! Forward: Well here it is. An amazing trip for an amazing group! Please note that all times listed are a best case scenario. By this we mean we plan our times and events carefully, but we re always at the mercy of things we can t control; things such as traffic and weather. Keep this itinerary with you at all times! It is your guide. And be cheerfully adaptable to any adjustments to our timing that may be needed as the trip progresses. Enjoy! (Tuesday, April 13 th ) Our Final Spring Concert and Awards! Students please be here at 6:30pm in full performance clothing. Concert begins at 7:30pm. Wednesday, April 14 th ***PUT YOUR PASSPORT IN YOUR CARRY-ON BACKPACK, NOT IN YOUR SUITCASE*** 7:00am Arrive at CCI. You are allowed one suitcase and one carry-on backpack. ***NOTE TO ALL STUDENTS: You MUST travel on the bus that you have been assigned to AT ALL TIMES. Under NO circumstances are any students to transfer to a different bus at any time, as this will cause all kinds of problems with our head count.*** 7:30am Leave for New York. Note: We will be changing drivers somewhere near Niagara. These new drivers will be with us for the duration of the trip. We will be watching movies enroute. If you have a movie that you would like to bring/show (DVD only) please bring it along. We will be getting out of the coach at Central Park to view the John Lennon Memorial. It`s hard to believe, but 2010 marks the 30 th anniversary of John Lennon`s death and undoubtedly many John Lennon fans will be paying tribute to his life at Strawberry Fields. Strawberry Fields is located in Central Park near The Dakota Apartments where John Lennon and Yoko Ono lived (John Lennon was shot right outside of this apartment) and was one of their favourite places in Central Park. The 2.5 acre tear-shaped area features the famous Imagine Mosaic, inspired by a similar mosaic in Naples, Italy. 11:45am-3:30pm Arrive at NBC Studios at Rockefeller Centre! These are the actual studios of NBC, and we`ll be taking a tour! See the sets of familiar NBC shows such as Saturday Night Live. The tour lasts for 1 hour. We will be taking this tour in groups of 30. Please refer to the tour chart at the end of this itinerary for YOUR specific time. You need to be ready for YOUR tour at the time listed. Things get worse when Christine meets back up with her childhood acquaintance Raoul and the two fall in love. The Phantom decides to kidnap her and imprison her with him in his lair. 6 The Rules The following rules are mostly issues of common sense and basic respect for each other. By following these simple guidelines the whole trip runs MUCH more smoothly! Thank you for adhering to these flawlessly. 1) When we are travelling to and from New York we will have the opportunity to watch movies on the coach. Your may bring a movie (DVD) if you wish, but DO NOT bring a movie that has inappropriate content or language. 2) Always be polite and respectful to our drivers, and make sure all garbage on the bus gets up to the front of the bus and into the garbage container. 3) Our chaperones have kindly volunteered their time to be with you. At all times be polite and respectful to these people. 4) Staying in a hotel with your friends is a lot of fun. Having said that, you need to follow all basic rules of the Hotel, and absolutely respect that there are other guests there as well. We operate on the principle that you and your room mates are fully responsible for each other. If there is a problem with one person in your room we fully expect that the others in the room will immediately address the given issue before it needs the attention or intervention of a teacher of chaperone. Rooms that do not follow basic guidelines of respect in any manner will be subject to a loss of privilege of further sharing this room. 5) We are running some very long days with a VERY large group. It is absolutely imperative that everyone follow the times in the itinerary EXACTLY. Do NOT be late for anything. In fact be 5 minutes early for everything! 6) In the evening you will see two times listed. One is to be ``back in your own room.`` The second is for ```lights out.`` Please make no mistake as to what each of these sentences mean! 7) Everyone needs to read through the crew duties carefully. If you are listed on a crew, make SURE it happens, and do not leave the duty until the captain verifies that you are done. 8) Make sure you have set a time to phone your parents during the trip. Phone calls cannot be made from your hotel room. And finally, ALWAYS keep a positive spirit about you. It`s contagious

10 Some things to think about Money: The cost of your trip includes the following: 1) All transportation by motorcoach 2) 4 nights accommodations at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers 3) 3 Broadway shows 4) Statue of Liberty 5) Museum of Natural History 6) Madame Tussaud`s Wax Museum 7) Backstage tour of the Gershwin Theatre 8) NBC Studio Tour As discussed, you will need money for meals. (We do not cost in meals due to the huge variance in eating habits of teenagers.) The following is a guide. Please adjust as you see fit. NOTE: Please do any currency exchanging before you leave for this trip. Debit cards are also readily accepted at some bank machines in the States. MEALS: 4 $8.00 each 5 $10.00 each 5 $15.00 each Again, this is only a guide. Please adjust to your own eating habits. MUNCHIES: If possible, it s good to plan for $5.00 to $10.00 each day for muchies. Again, remember to think in terms of US Dollars. Many people also pack a bunch of munchies to bring for the trip. This is certainly fine. SPENDING MONEY: This amount is totally up to each individual. Again, please think in terms of your needs in US currency. PACKING LIST: CHECK THIS CAREFULLY!! 1) ORIGINAL PASSPORT! YOU MUST CARRY THIS WITH YOU ON THE BUS!! 2) THIS ITINERARY! 3) Everything in one suitcase. (You can bring a small carry-on backpack if you want.) 4) Digital camera 5) Canadian and US $$ 6) Raincoat 7) Enough clothing to get you through the trip 8) DVD s for viewing on the bus 9) ipod/mp3 player NOTE: The weather in New York at this time of year is hard to predict. The temperature can typically range from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius! Their spring temperatures are a lot like ours.
