2 OUR MISSION Our mission is to provide our athletes with the skills necessary to succeed both on and off the competition mat. By providing a safe and positive environment, they can learn dedication, team work and discipline while participating in a sport that they love. WHAT IS ALL-STAR CHEERLEADING? All-Star Cheerleading is a fast paced sport that combines gymnastics, dance, jumps, stunting and more. It is broken up by age and skill level starting at level 1 to level 5. At Champion we have all age groups and levels available as well as additional programs that help athletes become the best that they can be. All-Star cheer is unlike any other sport is that every athlete plays a vital roll to the team. There are no bench warmers. Everyone is important and plays major parts in the routine. SCHEDULE *Age is based on athletes age as of august 31st. Example: if 8 years old on August 31st and turns 9 on September 1st, their competitive age for the season would be 8 years old. 3 COMPETITION SCHEDULE Competitions are mandatory for all athletes. Failure to attend will result in dismissal from the team. Please try to not book other events on competition days as some competitions run early/late and we only get the days schedule a week or two in advance. FAILURE TO ATTEND PRACTICE THE WEEK BEFORE A COMPETITION WILL RE- SULT IN THE ATHLETE BEING PULLED FROM THAT COMPETITION. Tiny, mini and youth athletes require a chaperone at all competitions. When you arrive please find the athletes only area to meet your team. You will be given a wrist band at some events. If it is a two day event please leave this on for day 2. Please make sure to arrive in full competition hair, makeup, no nail polish and no jewelry. Please make sure to not walk around in your crop top as there is a cover up rule in effect. Please attend all awards ceremonies in full uniform including cheer shoes. Please be respectful of other teams, clubs, uniforms and coaches. No negative comments please! If you have any questions on the day of competition please text sometimes calls will go unanswered as it can get really loud back stage. The only excuse for missing a competition is a death in the immediate family or a sickness that puts the athlete in the hospital. All other illnesses please still attend and leave after they compete. Parents and fans can sit in front while any CC team performs! Help us cheer them on! Try not to walk in front of people while performances are happening Thank you and have fun! 3

5 PAYMENT POLICIES There are no refunds on any payments including tuition, choreography, competitions fees, uniform fees and more. All payments are paid out immediately and can not be refunded. Tuition fees are due on the 1st of the month. All other payments are outlined in our handbook under payments. If paying online then payments will automatically go through. If paying by cheque then please provide post-dated cheques for the entire year made out to Champion All-Star Cheerleading 3 months notice is required to stop tuition payments. This includes FIT program and competitive. There is a $25 NSF fee and late fee for any payments that are returned to us or paid after the due date. ATTENDANCE POLICY Because Competitive cheerleading is the ultimate team sport, we are very strict about our attendance as it becomes a safety issue if not upheld. Please understand that we do not allow absences for homework, appointments, family dinners and other activities and reserve excused absences for extreme illness and family emergencies. We allow 3 excused absences from August to December and 3 from January to May. Even though we allow those absences we highly encourage perfect attendance. We also may change athletes out of certain positions of the routine if absent. Any athletes absent the week leading up to a competition will be removed from the competition. GYM RULES Failure to abide by these rules will result in dismissal. Please respect the gym equipment and clean up after yourself (no food or drink allowed unless okayed) Please respect coaches, other athletes and parents. Verbal or physical abuse is not tolerated. Practices are closed to spectators (parents and friends included) Please practice good communication and ask questions when confused. Information is usually released through . Please give us a call or if you ever need clarification on anything or feel free to swing by the gym! We will try to make ourselves available during the first and last 5 minutes of practice for any questions. Please be on time, wear hair up and no jewelry Please do not check your cell phone at practice. Cell phones must be put away in a bag. Please refrain from taking tumbling at other cheer gyms and instead attend gymnastics facilities. We have had issues with the quality of instruction and athletes getting injured at certain facilities. Please do not post anything inappropriate on social media (refer to social media contract) Please do not approach judging officials at competitions and be polite to all competition staff Please practice good sportsmanship at practices and competitions 5

6 SOCIAL MEDIA CONTRACT Due to an increasing number of social media websites we are implementing a social media contract. Social media can be a great tool for communication as well as a place to highlight photos and offer encouragement to team mates however it is also a place where poor sportsmanship is sometimes promoted and bullying is acceptable. We as a gym are taking extra measures to stop negative social media posts and ensure that the gyms online presence is a safe space for athletes. Please remember that all posts are permanent once it is out there it can do permanent damage. ATHLETE PLEDGE: I, pledge to keep all of my social media posts positive. I pledge to never post any mean, negative, unsportsmanlike comments, videos, pictures about my team mates, coaches or about the gym or other gyms. I understand that any inappropriate comments, photos, videos or other posts may result in dismissal from Champion (including videos/photos/comments about drugs/alcohol or other illegal activities.) I pledge to not use social media as an outlet for online bullying and will do my part to keep it positive. PARENT PLEDGE: I, pledge to keep all of my social media posts positive. I pledge to never post any mean, negative, unsportsmanlike comments, videos, pictures about my team mates, coaches or about the gym or other gyms. I understand that any inappropriate comments, photos, videos or other posts may result in my child s dismissal from Champion. I pledge to remind my child that inappropriate posts may result in dismissal from the gym. Please read and fill out the following Liability release I,, as a parent or legal guardian of hereby grant the permission necessary to allow Minor to participate in any Champion All Star Cheerleading Academy LTD programs. I, in my own behalf and on the behalf of the Minor, further agree to release of all liability and hold harmless Champion All Star Cheerleading Academy LTD., the hosting site, on whose premises the practice will occur, the affiliates of Champion All Star Cheerleading Academy LTD. and the location and respective directors, officers, representatives, members, agents and employees of Champion All Star Cheerleading Academy LTD from any and all liability for negligence or any other claim judgment, loss, liability, cost and expenses (including, without limitations, attorney s fees and costs) arising out of or connected with the practice/competition, including any claim arising out for connected with any illness or injury (minimal, serious, catastrophic and/or death) that the Minor may incur or sustain during the clinic/ practice/competition, all activities associated with Champion All Star Cheerleading Academy LTD while traveling to and from the site for clinic/practice/competition. I further expressly agree to indemnify and hold harmless Releases and Releases' heir, successors, assigns, executors and administrators against loss from any further claims, demands or actions that may subsequently be brought by Minor or by any other persons on the account of damages of any character resulting to Minor in any way from the foregoing activities. I further agree to reimburse and make good to Releasees any loss, or costs Releasees may have to pay as a result of any such action, claim, or demand. I, in my own behalf and on behalf of the Minor, hereby warrant that I have read this Liability Release in its entirety and fully understand its contents. I, in my own behalf and on behalf of the Minor, am aware that this Liability Release releases Champion All Star Cheerleading Academy LTD from liability and contains an acknowledgement of my voluntary and knowing assumption of the rinks of injury or illness. I, in my own behalf and on behalf of the minor, further acknowledge that nothing in this Liability Release constitutes a guarantee that the clinic/practice/competition will occur. I, in my own behalf and on behalf of the Minor, have signed this document voluntarily and of my own free will. Medical Release: I, in my own behalf and on behalf of the minor, acknowledge and agree that such participation subjects Minor to possibility of physical illness or injury (minimal, serious, catastrophic and/or death) and that I, in my own behalf and on behalf of the Minor, acknowledge that the Minor is assuming the risk of such illness or injury by participating in the clinic/ practice/competition. In the event of such illness or injury, I authorize Champion All Star Cheerleading Academy LTD to obtain necessary medical treatment of the minor and hereby, in my own behalf and on behalf of the Minor, release and hold harmless releasees in the exercises of this authority. I further acknowledge and understand that I will be responsible for any and all medical and related bills that may be incurred on behalf of the Minor for any illness or injury that the Minor may sustain during the clinic/practice/competition and while traveling to and from the site for the clinic/practice/ competition whether or not the event actually occurs. 8 BC CHEERLEADING ASSOCIATION PARTICIPANT'S INFORMED CONSENT FORM (Under 18) PLEASE READ CAREFULLY Risk: I, give my consent for my child (Parent's Name) (Child's Name) to participate in cheerleading which may result in personal injury (including but not limited to: injury to bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, internal organs, and other aspects of the skeletal system and potential impairment to other aspects of the body, and in rare occurrences, death, complete or partial paralysis or brain damage) and property damage or loss. The definition of participating in a cheerleading program includes but is not limited to: it is an activity that uses organized routines made up of elements from stunting, gymnastics & dance to cheer on sports teams at games and matches or as a competitive sport. I fully understand these risks and give my son / daughter permission to participate in a cheerleading program. Rules: I understand that the rules and regulations are designed for the safety and protection of participants and hereby agree to inform my son/daughter of the importance of abiding by the rules and regulations set down by the club/team I am training with and the BC Cheerleading Association rules & regulations. Media Release: I hereby grant to the BC Cheerleading Association the right to use, without payment of any fee or charge, any written information, photograph, video tape or other visual media of my son / daughter taken during a BC Cheerleading Association sanctioned event for the purpose of furthering BC Cheerleading Associations objectives.
