GWA will try to adhere to the schedule when completing the work plan. However, it is subject to change. All amendments to times will be published in the GWA Work plans once competition entries are received, communicated to all relevant Schools and placed on the GWA website. 3 COMPETITIONS - WAG, MAG, RG, AEROSKOOLS AND CHEERLEADING Event Entry All schools wishing to enter a GWA event are required to supply participant details on an official entry form. Each Gymsport has a unique entry form and can be downloaded from the GWA website/insidegwa/forms/interschool Challenge and should be ed to info@gymnasticswa.asn.au EVENT ENTRY COSTS Entry Closing Date The entry closing date for this event is Monday 27 th July 2015 Event Entry Cost $15.00 per student TICKETING AND SPECTATOR COSTS Volunteers As schools are required to provide volunteers for the sessions in which they compete, each volunteer will receive free entry to their rostered session. It is the responsibility of the school to supply a list of volunteers prior to the commencement of the event. This is so we can ensure that entry is provided to all competition volunteers free of charge. Please note it is important that you notify GWA of any changes to your school list because if a volunteer is not on the list, they will be charged the standard spectator fee to enter the competition. Technical Members (coaches and judges) that want to view the competition during a session that are not registered to coach or judge at, are able to enter free of charge. Spectator Costs All spectators- Gold coin donation on entry

5 FLOOR MANAGERS, SCORERS AND ANNOUNCERS If you have someone who might like to volunteer as a Floor Manager, Scorer or an Announcer for this event, please contact Paula Dick at the GWA Office or by services.development@gymnasticswa.asn.au Results will be available on the Gymnastics WA website- GYMSPORT MUSIC GWA will supply all compulsory music for AER and RG. Music for WAG is optional; however, GWA can supply music for Divisions 2, 3, 4 and 5. If you would like to use the GWA music please contact us on to request a copy. If you are not using the GWA WAG Schoolgirls music, it is the schools responsibility to supply GWA with the optional music prior to General Warm-Up. Music requirements should comply with each Gymsports Technical Regulations. All music must be cut. The person in charge of the music cannot be asked to stop the music when the athlete finishes the routine. A spare Audio CD copy of music must be readily available at the event in case of technical difficulties. It is also the schools responsibility to collect all music at the end of each session. Music not collected will be placed in the lost property box located at the Registration Desk.
6 Men s Artistic Gymnastics Competition Attire: The school physical education uniform should be worn, with the t- shirt tucked in. If this is not available, form fitting pants/shorts and a singlet may be worn. Age Groups: Divisions 1 3 Juniors Years 4-7 Seniors Years 8-12 Division 1 Division 1 is for boys with some gymnastics experience Floor and Vault are based on the Gymnastics Australia MAG National Levels Program (NLP) Level 2 routines Mini Tramp is based on the Gymnastics WA MAG Club Level 2 requirements Gymnasts in Division 1 will compete compulsory routines on Floor, Vault & Mini Tramp. Please see the GWA office for a copy of the routines. Division 2 Division 2 is an ability based competition Floor and Vault are based on the Gymnastics Australia MAG National Levels Program (NLP) Level 1 routines Mini Tramp is based on the Gymnastics WA MAG Club Level 1 requirements Gymnasts in Division 2 will compete compulsory routines on Floor, Vault & Mini Tramp. 7 Men s Artistic Gymnastics Team Requirements: First and foremost, this competition is a team event. This is to encourage boys who may not wish to compete as individuals to be able to participate and represent their school. The Team Competition however, will run parallel with an individual event for all divisions. Please make sure team members are clearly marked on the entry forms A gymnast that is a junior may compete in the senior division, providing they are not already part of a junior team. If the school can fill a senior team, they must do so before a junior is allowed to compete in the senior division. A senior gymnast may not compete down in a junior division. Team Sizes: Division 1: A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 boys attending the same school, with the best 3 scores on each apparatus contributing to the team total. Divisions 2 3: A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 boys attending the same school, with the best 4 scores on each apparatus contributing to the team total. A school may enter 3 teams in Divisions 1 (Junior) and up to 2 teams in Division 1 (Senior). In an effort to encourage participation in Primary School Gymnastics, an unlimited number of teams will be permitted into Divisions 2 & 3.
8 Women s Artistic Gymnastics Age Groups: Divisions 1 3 Juniors Years 7, 8 & 9 Seniors Years 10, 11 & 12 Divisions 4 5 Years 4, 5 & 6 Division 1 Girls who have reached a high level of Women s Gymnastics. The following schoolgirls must compete in this division: Girls currently participating in WAG NL Level 6 or above Girls who have participated in WAG NL Level 7 or above in the past 3 years Girls in this division will compete optional routines on vault, beam & floor Division 3 This division is designed for girls with little or no experience in any form of gymnastics, or those entering the competition for the first time. Gymnasts of any level may compete in this division Girls competing in this division may not hold a WAG ALP Level 4 or above badge within the last 3 years at the close of competition entries. Division 2 Girls who have reached a reasonable level of Women s Gymnastics. The following schoolgirls may NOT compete in this division: Girls who hold a current WAG NL Level 5 badge, or Girls who have competed in WAG NL Level 6 or above in the past 3 years at the close of competition entries Gymnasts in this division will compete compulsory routines on vault, beam & floor Division 4 An ability based competition for Year 4 6 students only. Gymnasts in this division will compete compulsory routines on vault, beam & floor Gymnasts in this division will compete compulsory routines on vault, beam & floor Division 5 An ability based competition for Year 4 6 students only. Gymnasts in this division will compete compulsory routines on vault, beam & floor Stations Challenge A stations based Team event for Year 2-4 students. Gymnasts in this division will perform specific individual skills on vault, bench, beam and floor Please check the WAG School Girls Routine Manual for division requirements.
9 Women s Artistic Gymnastics Technical Requirements: Division 1 Optional routines with the requirements as written in the WAG Schoolgirls Technical Information. Music must be non-vocal and between secs in length. If any school is unsure if a piece of music is suitable, please submit a copy to the WAG Technical Committee (TC) for approval. To contact the WAG TC, volunteers.events@gymnasticswa.asn.au. Please ensure coaches submit a copy of their athlete s music to the music operator prior to the start of competition. Divisions 2 5 Compulsory routines with the requirements as written in the WAG Schoolgirls Technical Information. (Note: When coaching the routines, you should always adopt the written text, rather than the videoed routines) For beam and floor, all poses and dance are optional. Copies of the routines and music are available from the Gymnastics WA office. Where there is an option of skills (e.g. tuck handstand / handstand), each team member does not have to compete the same skill option. If a gymnast completes all of the elements/skills in the routine the Start Score will be Stations Challenge Compulsory skills as outlined in the WAG Schoolgirls Technical Information. The skills can be taught as a mini routine or as individual skills starting and stopping between skills. The skills will be judges out of 5 (but not shared/displayed). Scores will be averaged to form a team total and the appropriate medal (based on their team total) will be awarded. A school may enter 3 teams per division in Divisions 1 3 (Junior) and up to 2 teams per division in Division 1 3 (Senior). In an effort to encourage participation in Primary School Gymnastics, an unlimited number of teams will be permitted into Divisions 4 & 5 and the Stations Challenge. Please note: The technical content to Divisions 1-5 hasn t changed, only the alignment to the new ALP judging structure and competencies.
11 RG Skools Competition Area: The competition area is a standard of 8m x 8m for all RHYTHMIC Skools events. The performance area will be clearly marked by a line of contrasting colour that shall be between 5 centimetres and 7.5 centimetres in width. Competition Attire: Females can wear a one-piece leotard or a two-piece outfit that includes bra top/singlet and bike pants. Males can wear a form fitting pant/shorts and a singlet. A school physical education uniform can also be worn by males and females. Loose fitting clothing is not permitted. Competition Categories Athletes can only compete in a maximum of 2 categories of competition at a RHYTHMIC Skools Event. Age Division Category Level Sub-Junior Pair (2) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (7-9 years) Trio (3) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Group (4 6) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (any combination of males and/or females) Junior Division Pair (2) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (10-12 years) Trio (3) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Group (4 6) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (any combination of males and/or females) Intermediate Division Pair (2) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (12-14 years) Trio (3) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Group (4 6) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (any combination of males and/or females) Senior Division Pair (2) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (15-18 years) Trio (3) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Group (4 6) Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (any combination of males and/or females) Please note: There is additional information on the following page
12 * The age is determined by how old the student will be turning in the year of competition Note: Students can only compete in a maximum of 2 categories (pair trio group) per competition, but not more than once in one category. Students can only compete in one level (Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3) per category and per Skools competition. For example: a student forms part of a Trio in the Intermediate Division Level 2. Ball The student cannot compete as a member of a Group in the Intermediate Level 1 Ball. Having competed in the Level 2 division, that student can only remain in Level 2 or move through to Level 3. The student cannot compete in Level 1. The teacher or the RHYTHMIC Skools Instructor determines the decision as to when the student can move through to the next Level. This decision is based on performance and results. Please check the Rhythmic Schools Manual for division requirements.
13 AEROSkools Competition Area: The performance area is 7m x 7m. This area will be clearly marked with tape; the tape being part of the competition area. The floor surface will be confirmed closer to the competition. Level 1 - Compulsory Routines - Age Groups: age determined in the year of competition o Primary School o Secondary School - Music Length: 5 minutes 30 seconds (or 6 minutes depending on the bpm used). Competition will be 2 minutes and the music faded. - Categories o Groups (5-20 members) Level 3 - Compulsory Routines - Age Groups: age determined in the year of competition o Senior: (16+ years) o Intermediate: (12-15 years) o Junior: (9-11 years) - Music Length: 1 minute 30 seconds (+/- 5 seconds) - Categories o Pair (2) o Trio (3) o Groups (4-6) Level 5 - Compulsory Routines - Age Groups: age determined in the year of competition o Senior: (16+ years) o Intermediate: (12-15 years) o Junior: (9-11 years) - Music Length: 1 minute 30 seconds (+/- 5 seconds) - Categories o Pair (2) o Trio (3) o Groups (4-6) Level 2 - Compulsory Routines - Age Groups: age determined in the year of competition o Intermediate: years o Junior: 9-11 years - Music Length: 60 seconds (+/- 5 seconds) - Categories o Pair (2) o Trio (3) o Groups (4-6) Level 4 - Compulsory Routines - Age Groups: age determined in the year of competition o Senior: (16+ years) o Intermediate: (12-15 years) o Junior: (9-11 years) - Music Length: 1 minute 30 seconds (+/- 5 seconds) - Categories o Pair (2) o Trio (3) o Groups (4-6) Please note: There is additional information on the following page
14 Competition Attire: o Aerobic/fitness shoes are required. These are defined as shoes with adequate shock absorption, lateral support, flexible mid sole and rigid heel counter. o A school physical education uniform can also be worn, with their shirts tucked in. For females they can also wear a one-piece leotard with tights or a two piece outfit that includes bra top/singlet and bike pants. For males they can also wear a unitard or form fitting pant/shorts and a singlet.
15 Cheerleading Divisions The following Scholastic divisions are offered at other Cheerleading events. Please check with GWA for the Scholastic categories offered at each competition.
