2 Mississippi Press Release 2008 Mississippi s Beauties of America Pageant CELEBRATING BEAUTY ACHIEVEMENT AT EVERY AGE 2008 event to be held May 10 & 11, 2008 At the Clarion Hotel & Suites in Jackson, MS. A CONTESTANT SEARCH IS ON!!!! This event sets itself apart from other competitions because women compete with other women in their own decade. Categories are custom designed for their age group. Women compete in Physical Fitness, Photogenic, Evening Gown and Personal Interviews. In Mississippi, FIVE state queens will be chosen; a Teen, 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s and Up. Contestants may be single, married, divorced or widowed. This year s pageant will award over Thousands of dollars in cash, prizes, and trips to the national pageant. Titleholders will also have the opportunity to make appearances throughout the state for one year. 5 Good Afternoon, As per our telephone conversation I will give you as much of the details I can. The pageant system is Beauties of America. The actual local pageant consists of ages 13 years to 59 years. My tentative plans since this is still in the infancy stages are as follows: 1. I would need a ballroom or meeting room with a T-shaped stage and seating for approximately 150 theatre style. 2. I would like a smaller room connecting or just adjacent to the main room to use for a dressing room. This should have tables all around the walls for rollers, make-up etc. and maybe 2 or 3 bellman carts to hang their clothing on. 3. Saturday, I would do Orientation & Registration in my suite/room (depending upon the turn out unknown at this time.) 4. Saturday evening about 6:30p.m. I would like a small room for a cocktail party for the contestants and my staff only. A rough estimate would be people. The food would be light such as finger sandwiches, fruit, vegetable, and cheese tray(s), and maybe chicken wings with dipping sauce possibly. The beverages will be iced tea and non-alcoholic champagne. 5. Sunday morning 9:30 a.m. I would like the pageant room to be available with maybe a small continental breakfast or bagels, donuts, cookies etc (and beverage is not certain at this time) set up because they will be rehearsing for the opening number and getting familiar with the staging. 6. For myself and my staff, I would like a ( complimentary) suite or adjoining rooms that may have like a living room to do interviews in. 7. I'd like a block of approx. 15 sleeping rooms, probably Saturday night and maybe Sunday. It will depend on number of contestants to figure time factor. Also need to know check out time and if any extensions can be made. Dates that are available are 04/26-27/200/ or 05/24-25/2008. If absolutely necessary, I could also go 4/19-20/2008 or05/03-24/200/ or 05/24-25/2008 I think I have covered everything. My head is spinning so I am not certain.
