4 MASTER/YBC PROVINCIAL BOWLING TOURNAMENT To bowl in this event you must be a member in good standing of the Master Bowlers Association of Saskatchewan. This can be an associate or full participating member. To be a member in good standing, you must be a certified community or competitive coach, and pay an annual membership fee. $20 for an associate membership, $40 for a full membership, prior to our established deadline. They must also be a current member, in good standing, of the Canadian 5 pin association, have a current league average with a minimum 12 games, a current MBAS tournament average or they will be assigned an average, 180 for men, 160 for women. The Master also must wear a Masters shirt at these events, if they don't own one, they can purchase one from the association. This tournament is a pins over average tournament where a Master bowler bowls with a team of two YBC bowlers within the same age group but of any gender. If there is only one YBC member in their division another may be promoted from a LOWER division to complete the team. Each house or zone runs a qualifying event at the time of their choosing, prior to Dec 31st of the current bowling year. The winners are then eligible to proceed to the provincial event. The house/zone rounds are usually 3 games. The provincial tournament is held on the first Sunday of Feb. each year at either Regina or Saskatoon or a combination if we have to do a north/south split. The provincial tournaments are 5 games for the senior and junior divisions and 4 games for the bantam division, using their current league averages for the YBC and Master bowlers. The cost of entering this event at the house round is $5 for the Master bowler, per division, per entry. Lineage is extra and is established by the host bowling centre.

5 One winning entry from each division in the house/zone qualify to advance to the provincial event. If a bowling centre has five or more teams participating per division, the centre automatically advances their top POA team to provincials. If a centre does not have 5 teams, scores are compared and they have to win the zone to advance, or they can pay $25 and send a team directly to provincials. The top POA team in each division in their zone are awarded medals. There is a minimum of $25 per team, per house, per division to advance to provincials. All averages used are your current, highest league average. This tournament is formatted towards allowing our coaches to participate with their YBC counterparts in a tournament setting for the benefit of both. Any questions, or misunderstandings can be directed to our Zone representatives, who are listed in our executive list on our website. Any disputes or interpretations of the rules will be forwarded to our Master/YBC Coordinator Dianne Smutt, whose decisions will be final. Dianne Smutt Box 2267 Kamsack, Sask. 8 YBC Chair Report I would like to thank everyone for allowing the privilege to serve in this position. I don t have much to report now. We have approximately half of the centers currently registered, only one that has not ordered chocolates at this time. We will see some changes this season with the early provincial for singles, as well changes to the teams going from a 4 person to doubles format. Nationals will also be providing some format changes, those will be finalized later. I look forward to working with all of the zones in making our program as successful as possible. Yours In Bowling Leesa Cunningham

9 President Report Bowl Sask. AGM September 24, 2017 Another season has started this week. Welcome back to everyone and I hope you have a great season. I would like to congratulate the teams that attended the National Open Championships in Sudbury this year; special congratulations to the mixed team out of Regina for bringing home some hardware. I would also like to take this time to thank Heather Lawrence for taking on the manager role for the Open when I could not. There is more talk regarding changes to the format of the Open yet again. As previously discussed with you in 2018 the only change will be no banquet at the opening ceremonies. A new motion is on the table regarding the number of bowlers on the team for the open. There is discussion regarding 5 player teams for the men s and ladies and 6 players for the mixed. By going down to 5 player teams which includes one sub for men's and ladies and 2 for the mixed (1 man 1 lady double pull system). This will be further discussed at the January SAGM. Please express your opinions on this and take it back to your zones to discuss with your bowlers. Their opinions are very important to the process. The agreement made with the Special Olympics comes to an end in September 2018 and all ties will be cut at that time. In order to make up for the loss there will be an increase in membership fees by $700/year per member (province). Dave Post did not seek re- election at the AGM; Annette Bruneau is our new president; with Allan Clark as the 1 st Vice for 1 year; Daniel Lamarche remains as 2 nd Vice; Chris Henderson is Treasurer.

18 Treasurer's Report - Sept 24th - Annual Meeting BOWL SASK I will run thru the changes since the June Meeting report for the Audited Report - We received the dues from Weyburn and from two sponsors - J.D. Bowling and Strikers. I wrote off the dues from Watrous and Spiritwood as well as the two other sponsors that I had billed - Buffo and Peterborough. Then on Thursday I received an from Spiritwood wondering why their cheque dated March 20th had not been cashed!! They had not replied to any s that I sent out so I assumed that they were not renewing but they are as is North Battleford. Expenses - the Director's expenses increased mainly because of the inclusion of the Bowl Canada Annual Mtg. held in June which were rather high due to the fact the meeting was in Nashville and the exchange rate killed us. I split the cost between the two organizations as Shelley was representing both. We also spent a lot more on our annual meeting than we usually due but I think everyone had a good time and appreciated it. We still had a slight profit of $ Any questions? We can now do the year-end motions to pass the audit. SASK YBC The changes for Sask YBC - as I mentioned I transferred the expenses for Shelley and 10% of the June meeting costs as well as a portion of the income from the points used to fly Shelley to Nashville. There were also some expenses left over from the YBC Nationals. The loss for YBC was $ which was more than I expected but mainly due to the exchange rate on the Nashville Meeting. Any questions? We can now do the year-end motions to pass the audit. Current & Projected Financial Statements Bowl Sask Income Statement - I tried to estimate expenses for the coming year but Bowl Canada Cup is an area that I am very concerned about - if our entries drop we won't receive any funds and we could owe money if we don't reach $ The new Bowl Canadsa Cup Singles will only pay for itself if we get 48 entries in total. The rest of the figures should be fairly accurate. MAP Funds are reduced as we contributed $ towards the Winter Games. Expenses - I feel that these are reasonable other than the question mark on the Bowl Canada Cup events. Any questions? Sask YBC Balance Sheet - The Accounts Receivable and the Accounts payable are mainly for the Bowling School which were received and paid in September. Prepaid Accounts are the Bowling Bags for the Nationals and a Banquet Deposit. Income Statement - this year I took our all of the income and expenses pertaining to the Bowling School so we would have a clearer picture of the Sask YBC. Since most of the expenses are totals I did an extended version of some of these expenses. The figures show what I hope will be close for estimates. This shows the breakdown of the expenses that will be covered by MAP and then the rest will have to be covered by our Income. I figure that our chocolate rebate may drop, also we are no longer getting a membership rebate from Nationals but we increased our Provincial membership and we will be getting a $5.00 rebate for each singles spot purchased so some of that loss will be recouped. Our excellence Grant drops because we are hosting this year - had I know that the 10 Pin were still travelling I could have bid for more funds. Since our total grants dropped this year our membership fees for the Federation also drop. The figure for the Four steps National includes their uniforms, bags and travel to Regina. It was very difficult trying to estimate amounts with all of the changes so bear with me if I am out on these figures. Bowling School - As you can see the school made money this year - mainly due to an increase in registration and a huge drop in the Hotel Charges from $ to $ Any questions on the report? Will someone please move my Current Financial statements as presented?
