1 FC Board Meeting Minutes - Wednesday March 12 th, Attendance: Randy, Martin, Hassan, James, Anthony Regrets: Juha, Joe, Eero, Brett, Simon, Barbara Meeting called to motion at 6:07 PM Motion: Approval of meeting minutes from the month of February (Randy) Seconded: Hassan Abstain: Anthony Motion passes unanimously 1. President s Report e-sportsdesk Updates o Follow up with Ben was conducted to address the issue of multiple transaction costs for a single transaction (multiple convenience fees) for the Ottawa club, and the issue has been addressed and resolved. Addresses Ron o No update to date IFF Grant MHG Program and renewal o Switched Minor Hockey Association to Minor Hockey Group to expand the scope of the project o See Appendix B for the Application Form contains benefits and requirements for the minor hockey group o Two groups, possibly 3, are ready to capitalize on the new initiative o Renewal message from the IFF contacted FC and requested a full report of accomplishments over the past few years (to include the MHG project) o There may be a residual balance remaining, but will attempt to allocate for promoting Hockey Canada Elementary School program by attending phys-ed conferences across Canada o Disappointment due to 10 months of no activity with the Hockey Canada Program due to key staff moving on, but this has been reignited o Anthony: use of the grant money to spread the word directly to the schools as opposed to relying completely on Hockey Canada to promote the sport at the elementary school level o Martin: approximately $3,600 of remaining IFF funding that can be used for this effort

2 floorballcanada.org Action Item: Anthony to communicate with Juha to scope potential provincial and national conferences for phys-ed programs that can be attended for floorball representation o Martin: question regarding status of the Hockey Canada program o Hockey Canada: Kevin Bathurst was the champion of the Floorball Canada/Hockey Canada partnership, but he left his position, and the individual above him did not continue to foster the program. Once a new employee was hired to replace Kevin, he was not informed of the program, but has now been made aware of it, and is keen on building the partnership. o Martin: membership numbers have constantly been rising, and can be used to promote our results to the IFF, and allow us to campaign for an IFF grant for a third year Randy: to submit a report and proposal for a third year of funding from the IFF 2. National Team Program Director s Report (no updates) 3. Secretary s Updates: Website o CFL: content is not up-to-date o More information about the league o Working towards creating a more structured process to gather information o Progress being made through communication with Derek from esportsdesk Newsletter o Suggestion: Board member position to be responsible for communication o Current secretary position ideal for this role o Updates remaining for two parts (CFL and National Teams) and it should be ready to send. 4. Treasurer s Report See Appendix A National Team Tryouts encouraged to collect money through Esportsdesk or paid through cheque. This leads to a potential for bad debt (Anthony). Martin: prior to 2012, the major risk of the organization was that the proper amount was never received by FC, but through the online system, more accurate funds can be received Martin to work with Brett to provide support to the National Teams in terms of standardizing financial responsibilities, processes and expectations Page 2

Officiating Director s Report (James) Online course development o Committed to delivering the online course and to have it ready for Ottawa Blizzard Floorball Tournament o Continued conversation with IFF to align the program with their expectations o Minor Hockey Group Funding Program noted that mandatory coaching and refereeing certification is required. Atlantic Canada Update Delivering 20 th school floorball clinic 3 rd kit to be introduced to schools Flooball will be represented at the next Hockey Nova Scotia Conference Partnership to be established between Floorball Nova Scotia and Hockey Nova Scotia (AGM in May) Recreation program that brings sports to schools has included floorball into their fall program Approval for a full time gym, which will include floorball (to be opened in June) 9. 12 floorballcanada.org MINOR HOCKEY- FLOORBALL LEAGUE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Overview: Over the past several years, Floorball Canada (FC) has discovered more and more minor hockey groups are interested in Floorball but are commonly stopped from establishing a league because of the risks involved in newly starting a program. In addition to the resources FC has developed to help minor hockey groups successfully get started (based on our work with the Markham Minor Hockey Association) we are launching a pilot funding program. Minor hockey groups across Canada can apply for an $800 start-up grant that can be used to help offset the costs of launching a new floorball league. The following are the benefits and requirements associated with participation: Benefits of Participation: Minor hockey groups that successfully apply to participate would receive the following benefits: - A one-time $800 cash grant - 15% discount on all equipment purchased through FloorballPro or a local FloorballPro retail partner (if available) - The facilitation of a four-hour demonstration event (not including mileage beyond 100 kilometres) for only $300 ($500 value) - All FC Member League benefits: o Recognized as a Recreational League Member of FC o Receives one vote at Floorball Canada Annual General Meeting o Access to comprehensive insurance coverage for organization and events ($5 MM) o Recognized on FC website o Access to a template website including an online, credit card-based member registration platform and league management tool o Use of FC logo on their website and the tagline, Officially Recognized by FC Participant Requirements: In exchange for the aforementioned benefits, minor hockey groups would need to meet the following requirements for a minimum two-year period: - Minimum of one paid Referee and Coaching Certification Clinic annually with a minimum of three participants attending each - All players, coaches, referees and administrators register as Regular FC Members ($15) - Competition employs International Floorball Federation rules and equipment - All floorball-specific equipment and supplies purchased by league only is secured from FloorballPro or a local FloorballPro retail partner (this does not include players) Page 12
