In order to achieve Excellency in the game of Gymnastics, more emphasis needs to be paid on the sub-junior section of gymnasts. There is famous and well known phrase Catch Them Young. It is true in order to get best results; we should strictly follow the phrase. Gymnastics Federation of India proposes to divide sub-junior competition into age group competition as is prevalent in most of the countries advanced in the game of Gymnastics. GFI proposes to hold the competition for Sub-junior group in the following age groups from the year (i) Cadet Boys Above 8 to 10 years (ii) Mini Boys Above 10 to 12 Years (iii) Sub-Junior Boys Above 12 to 14 Years Prepared & Drafted by MTC, GFI & Expert MAG, 1/1/11 Page 2 2. Cut of date for Age Group will be 31 st December. For Example Gymnasts born up to 31 st December in the following years will be eligible to participate in the Championship for the year even though the competition is organized after 31 st December, Boys 10 Years - Boys 12 Years - Boys 14 Years - Born in 2000 to 2002 Born in 1998 to 1999 Born in 1996 to 1997

3 2. Cut of date for Age Group will be 31 st December. For Example Gymnasts born up to 31 st December in the following years will be eligible to participate in the Championship for the year even though the competition is organized after 31 st December, Boys 10 Years - Boys 12 Years - Boys 14 Years - Born in 2000 to 2002 Born in 1998 to 1999 Born in 1996 to A gymnast cannot participate in two different age Groups in a calendar Year. 4. Gymnasts cannot participate in the Higher or Lower age Group then that of his own. 5. Requirement will be considered full fill if higher valued element of the same group is performed. 6. (This rule will stand for all the age groups). If a gymnast performs higher difficulty value element automatically the lower element value will replace the prescribed EGR. ii. COMPETITIONS The following 3 competitions will be conducted: 1. Competition I- (Team Competition):

21 RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SUB JUNIOR GIRLS GROUP (UNDER 12 YEARS) NAME OF THE GROUP- Girls Sub Junior Group (under 12 years) TEAM COMPOSITION A team for Girls Sub-junior Group will comprise of a maximum 6 gymnasts from one State/ Unit. COMPETITIONS The following 3 competitions will be conducted: 1. Competition I- (Team Competition): All the gymnasts would participate in Competition-I. Competition-I will serve as: -- Qualification Competition for Competition-II. -- Qualification Competition for Competition-III. -- To decide Team Championships. A team will comprise of 6 gymnasts. All the five gymnasts will participate in Team Competition Out of the five, the best 4 performances on each apparatus will be considered to decide Team Competition 2. Competition II (Individual Apparatus Finals): The best 24 girls from the results of competition I with 2 reserve gymnasts will be selected for Competition II. There should not be more than 2 gymnasts from one State/Units. A State /Unit may replace an injured Gymnast from the same State/ Unit only if the replacement Gymnast obtained a higher qualifying score than the Ist named reserve. To be selected for Competition II a gymnast must participate in Prepared & Drafted by MTC, GFI & Expert MAG, 1/1/11 Page 21 all events. 3. Competition III (Individual Apparatus Finals): The 8 highest ranked gymnasts on each apparatus will qualify for the Individual Apparatus finals with a maximum of 2 gymnasts from the same State/Unit. 2 next gymnasts in order of merit will be selected as reserve. A State / unit may replace an injured gymnast with another gymnast from the same State/ Unit if replacement athlete obtained higher qualifying scores than the first named reserve gymnast.

RULES FOR OPTIONAL EXERCISES Each exercise on all apparatuses will be evaluated on the basis of 2 factors A. D.Scores B. E. Scores EVALUATION OF D SCORE (i) Difficulty Value(DV) (ii) Compositional Requirements(CR) CR on each apparatuses are given at each specific apparatus D Value : The value of maximum 7 best elements including dismount will be considered. The value of A part is 0.2 The value of each B is 0.4 The value of each C or higher part is 0.60 Compositional Requirements: Prepared & Drafted by MTC, GFI & Expert MAG, 1/1/11 Page 22 The maximum point for Composition requirements are 2.00 A gymnast is to perform 4 Compositional requirement which are given under each Event( except value) There are 4 compositional requirements on each apparatus. A gymnast has to perform 4 CRs + 3 other elements ( Total= 7 Elements ) The value of each Compositional requirement is 0.50 point The element fulfilling Compositional requirement should be minimum of A Value. A higher difficulty will automatically replace lower difficulty requirement. For

23 The maximum point for Composition requirements are 2.00 A gymnast is to perform 4 Compositional requirement which are given under each Event( except value) There are 4 compositional requirements on each apparatus. A gymnast has to perform 4 CRs + 3 other elements ( Total= 7 Elements ) The value of each Compositional requirement is 0.50 point The element fulfilling Compositional requirement should be minimum of A Value. A higher difficulty will automatically replace lower difficulty requirement. For Example if the composition requirement on floor is backward salto stretched and a gymnast performs backward Salto stretched with 360 degree turn, it will be considered as fulfilling the requirement. The elements can be performed /joined in any order. VAULT Height of the Vault 120 cm Compulsory Vault for competition I Minimum Handspring Pike value as per FIG Rules E Score evaluation is on the basis of WAG Code edition Two different vaults i.e one compulsory vault and one other vault. The average of both the vaults will be considered as final scores for the selection for competition-iii. However for Team Competition and for the selection of competition-ii, the marks obtained in first performed vault i.e... compulsory vault will be Prepared & Drafted by MTC, GFI & Expert MAG, 1/1/11 Page 23 taken into account. A girl must perform two different vaults in competition III. The vaults may be from the same group. The D value of the vaults will be as per the WAG Code Average of the two vaults will be taken as Final Scores for the Competition-III (Apparatus Finals). UNEVEN BARS Distance 130 CM between two inside poles The following are four compulsory requirements (CRs) on Uneven Bars:

For example Salto backward stretched with 360 degree turn dismount, it will fulfill the dismount requirements. Missing each CR will lead to deduction of 0.50 points. Total value of CRs is 2.00 points. BEAM Value of CRs will be There are following 4 CRs each having value of 0.50 points degree turn on one leg. 2. Two jumps in succession one being a leap 3.
