1 Of Dreams And Nightmares Dear Ice Show Families, The following packet contains important information for our annual Ice Show. This will be an exciting and busy 5 weeks as we prepare and practice for the big event. Enclosed you will find the group number(s) your child will be skating in along with the Ice Show Practice Schedule, Picture Day Schedule, and Show Week Schedule. Please read carefully! We would like to share some requests regarding the ice show and the practices: The week of ice show, April 17-22nd, practices are closed to spectators. Unless you have volunteered to help, parents are asked to bring their children and then leave the arena. We will have room mothers to ensure the care and safety of the children. If you feel you must be with your child, volunteer sign-ups for room mothers will be available. Volunteer information coming soon. No food or drinks are allowed in the locker rooms. One spill could ruin someone s costume! Skaters are not allowed in the stands during the half of the show they are skating. Skaters are encouraged to sit in the stands for the half of the show they are not participating in. During the show, skaters are to remain in the locker rooms with their groups. If a skater is performing in both halves, they must remain in the locker rooms for the whole evening! This is for their security and the smooth running of the show. Please have the skaters bring a bathrobe. Once in costume they should wear the robe if they venture to the restroom. Please NO PEANUT PRODUCTS! We have skaters who are highly allergic. You will need to purchase your child s Over the Boot Tights before pictures March 28 th : Option 1: Group order with the club by March 10 th and avoid any last minute shopping. Please make checks out to GCFSC ($13 for child sizes, $15 for adult sizes).money is due at pick up on March 23 rd and 24 th.to order; please gcfsciceshow@gmail.com with the skater s name, size, and quantity. Option 2: Go to Bee s Costume Creations, Inc N Wayne Rd, Westland, MI ( ) and purchase Chloe Noel over the Boot Tights with Buckles in Light Tan ($15.95+tax for child sizes, $17.95+tax for adult sizes). ************************ NOTE: By signing up for the Annual Ice Show parents and skaters have agreed to the following: Skaters are expected to treat all skaters and guests with respect at all times. Any deliberate harassment of a skater or guest may result in punitive action up to and including expulsion from the ice show. Processes will follow the conflict resolution that is stated in the Garden City Figure Skating Club bylaws. Thank you in advance for following these recommendations. 7 TUESDAY April 17, 2018 Technical Rehearsal (NO COSTUMES TODAY it s just a run through) 3:30 4:30 p.m. SOLO PRACTICE 4:30 5:45 p.m. FIRST HALF SHOW RUN THROUGH 5:45 6:30 p.m. GRAND FINALE PRACTICE (All Skaters) (Ice Make) 6:40 8:00 p.m. SECOND HALF SHOW RUN THROUGH ALL skaters are to be dropped off/picked up at the doors on the south side of the Arena (facing Cherry Hill road). It is required that you sign your skater in and out. NO SKATERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER OR EXIT WITHOUT A PARENT SIGNATURE. ALL FIRST HALF SKATERS must be in their locker rooms by 4:15 pm, and will be ready to be picked up around 6:30 pm. FIRST HALF GROUPS ARE: Opener, Like the Living Dead, She Wolf (Coaches), All I Have to do is Dream, Wildest Dreams, Daydreamin, When you Wish Upon a Star, Sweet Dreams- Beyonce, and Daydream Believer. ALL SECOND HALF SKATERS must report to the locker rooms by 5:30 pm, and will be ready for pick up around 8:00 p.m. SECOND HALF GROUPS ARE: Lights1 &2, More Than Just a Dream, Dream-Imagine Dragons, Dream Girls, Oogie Boogie, Once Upon a Dream. NOTE: ALL DRESS REHEARSAL/RUN THROUGHS WILL BEGIN ON TIME. THE FRONT DOORS TO THE ARENA WILL BE LOCKED, SO THE SKATER MUST ENTER/EXIT VIA THE ENTRANCE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ARENA FACING CHERRY HILL ROAD. They will be ready to leave around 9:30 pm. --IF SKATER S ARE ONLY IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE SHOW, they are permitted to leave the arena at the end of the first half.
