All 50m events had qualifiers for the Diocesan Swimming Carnival. The 25m events were well supported. It was great to see the children putting in their best efforts in all the events. The rising number of tadpoles enjoyed the activities provided by Jodie Boyd and her wonderful band of helpers. If you are looking for a great family club to join, jump on the computer and join the Collegians JRLFC. We cater for kids aged 5-13 (must already be 5 to take the field). Basketball Polding Trials - Girls On Friday 9th February Gabi Higgins, Charlotte Leonard, Mikayla Hardy & Hallie Scott participated in the Polding Basketball Trials in Newcastle.

Gabi and Charlotte were selected in the Possibles/Probables sides for final selection with Charlotte gaining selection in the Polding team to to compete in the NSW PSSA carnival at Broken Bay in May.

Polding Trials - Boys Following the Diocesan Summer Trials last November in Gunnedah Thomas Clark, Sam Morris, Jackson Lane and Aiden Lee travelled to Newcastle for the Polding Basketball Trials.

4 Basketball Polding Trials - Girls On Friday 9th February Gabi Higgins, Charlotte Leonard, Mikayla Hardy & Hallie Scott participated in the Polding Basketball Trials in Newcastle. The girls were put through numerous drills before playing 4 games for the Armidale Diocese. A number of selectors watched the drills and games to select two teams (Possibles/ Probables). Gabi and Charlotte were selected in the Possibles/Probables sides for final selection with Charlotte gaining selection in the Polding team to to compete in the NSW PSSA carnival at Broken Bay in May. All of the girls should be very proud of their efforts & behaviour throughout the day. They are a credit to not only St Edward s but the Armidale Diocese. Polding Trials - Boys Following the Diocesan Summer Trials last November in Gunnedah Thomas Clark, Sam Morris, Jackson Lane and Aiden Lee travelled to Newcastle for the Polding Basketball Trials.The day started at 9.30am at Newcastle Basketball Stadium, the stadium was heating up fast both on and off the court. Lismore, Newcastle, Bathurst and Maitland were all eyeing off the Armidale Diocesan boys. The day started with some drills and skills. Mr O Toole and Mrs Lane were walking around with the other teachers, taking notes on each of the players skills. We had to do a lot of running, bouncing and throwing to each other before we could shoot for the basket. After morning tea each Diocese played each other in an 8 minute game with a couple of minutes break between each game. It was a great day and to get to this level each boy did their school proud. We didn t make it to the next level but we gave it 110% and we got to play against some very strong schools and we all had fun. Thanks to our parents for taking us to Newcastle, and thank you also to Mr O Toole & Mrs Lane for being great teachers and looking after us on the day. 4

Cricket T20 blast T20 BLAST will be on again on Saturday 17th February at No.1 Oval (Kable Avenue). The T20 BLAST program starts at 9:30am and finishes at 11am.

7 Cricket T20 blast T20 BLAST will be on again on Saturday 17th February at No.1 Oval (Kable Avenue). The T20 BLAST program starts at 9:30am and finishes at 11am. Please move games on quickly and be at the game at least 10 minutes early. This will help us to finish on time. Please let me know if your team could take some more players. I have noticed some teams are regularly getting less than 8 players and this means some players who are on a waiting list could join the program and start playing cricket. Can you me or catch me on Saturday about this please? Kids who have already batted or who are waiting to bat need to go directly to the skills zone, except the next two batters who should wait on the sideline to keep the game flowing. All other children should be at the skills zone. This is a very important part of the T20 Blast program as we seek to help kids skill development at this time and is a fundamental part of the program. Please note that every team must have a scorer, umpire and someone to help direct the batting team on the side to the skills area. I would encourage each team to have a roster for these duties. I have attached a copy of the scoring instructions and also a sample scoring sheet as several people asked for this to be sent this week. How do I know if the T20 BLAST program is cancelled (due to weather) or if it's location is moved? The TJCA facebook website is where you can find out details surrounding wet weather etc. 7
