1 SACA PROGRAMS AND COMPETITIONS PROGRAM/COMPETITION EXPLANATION MILO in2cricket Skills 4 week program run during PE lessons. Teaches fundamental cricket skills. Programs available from reception-year 9 level. Runs all year round. ACHPER PE Week Equivalent to MILO in2cricket Skills, but schools register through ACHPER PE Week. Runs term 4. Sporting Schools SACA Primary School Competition SACA Primary School Competition Lightning Carnivals 10 week program that schools register for and run themselves after school hours. Suitable for receptionyear 7. Runs all year round. Term 1 and Term 4 competition played on Friday nights or Saturday morning in metropolitan zones. Suitable for year 2-7 through Kanga, C Grade, B Grade, A Grade. Modified format competition where SACA Primary School Competition participants play a 4 match carnival over 1 day. Runs term 1 and term 4 SAAS Primary School Competition Term 1 and Term 4 competition for independent schools. Caters for year 2-7. SAAS High School Competition Term 1 and Term 4 competition for independent schools. Caters for year SAPSASA/SSSSA KO Competition Knock out competition for primary schools and high schools. Runs term 1 and term 4. SAPSASA Carnival Competition 4 day carnival where SAPSASA zones compete against each other in Adelaide. Runs term 4. MILO T20 Blast School Cups Intra-School Cups (Primary School and High School) Lightning Carnival for schools who come together at a central venue to compete against each other where participants play a 4 match carnival over 1 day. Suitable for year 6-7. Runs term 1, 3 and 4. Lightning Carnival played internally within a school where participants play a 4 match carnival over 1 day. Suitable for year 4-7 and year Runs all year round. Year 8/9 Secondary School Cups Equivalent to MILO T20 Blast School Cup, but for year 8-9 students. Runs term 1 and term 4. Milo in2cricket Centre 8 week program for children aged 5-8. Teaches fundamental cricket skills. Runs term 1 and term 4.

4 EVIDENCE BASED RESEARCH HELPED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM Examination of optimal equipment modifications and game formats for the foundation stage of the Australian cricket pathway PHASE 1: Skill Testing PHASE 2: Match Play PHASE 3: Research Interpretation Examined the effect of bat sizes, ball types and pitch lengths on batting, bowling & throwing performance Investigated a series of modified games to explore the equipment & scaling from phase 1 in a match play context Taking phase 1 & 2 results and tempered with current community practice, make decisions on the formats to align with the evidence 4
