1 Senior School Head of Sport Mr Gordon Welcome back to term three. I hope you all had an enjoyable and restful break. At the end of last term we had our Athletics Carnival and it was great to see students participate and involve themselves in the different events on offer. Mr Robinson has written a report on the day found later in the Sports Scene. THE WEEK IN SPORT Congratulations to Natalie Otten who was selected as a member of the AICES Netball Team. We look forward to tracking the progress of that team. Inter-House Sports Cup Competition is Netball and is coming up in Week 2, Term 3. Our Girls should already be well practiced with many playing in the HZSA Afternoon Sports Competition. Arndell As mentioned earlier, the InterHouse Sports Cup continues this term with the sport of Netball for the Girls. Who will be the winning house in this inaugural competition? Athletics Coaching Squad is an opportunity being offered to students who have made it to Hillszone Athletics. Interested students will have the opportunity to be coached by a specialist in either throws, jumps, sprints or distance. Spots will be limited to 6 students per coach and will work on a first in, first served basis. Priority will be given to students who can make all 4 Monday afternoon sessions from 4-6pm at Blacktown Olympic Park starting Monday 22nd July SASC Netball Gala Day Thursday 1st August. All Girls who put their name down for the SASC netball Gala Day on Thursday the 1 st of August must come to the gym at lunch today for an important meeting about trials. Unfortunately due to numbers the boys division will not be running. Grading for the SASC netball gala day will be taking place this week. 3 Photos Arndell Athletics Carnival Mr Craig Robinson The Senior School Athletics Carnival was held across two days - Tuesday 18th June (High Jump) and Thursday 20th June (full day track and field carnival). It was an amazing day that saw the highest participation rates of any carnival at Arndell. Records were broken, spirits were high and the atmosphere electric. Arndell students are commended on their fine behavior and involvement in the carnival. Thank you to all staff and parents who helped out on the day. Without your involvement, the day would not have been possible. Please see Arndell Anglican College s Facebook page for a snap shot into the Carnival. Broken records, the age champions presentation and the winning house will be revealed early in Term 3.
