1 Sports Bulletin #27 Thursday 5 April Sports Bulletin Sport Report and Key Dates Hoping that everyone enjoyed the Easter break and the week off sport before the winter season begins this weekend. Our Football Club starts their season this weekend with the majority of teams playing at Hills Grammar. s are into regular training and we look forward to seeing their development as the season gets underway. Our basketball season is coming to a close and we have seven teams playing in semi finals this week. The Hills Grammar Basketball Presentation is this coming Monday 9 April and we look forward to seeing all of our teams attending the evening. Our Netball s are also training and some teams are playing in a Gala Day this Sunday as a lead-in to the season. We now have over 50 players attending the Pre season Training Camp to be held April 16 and 17 and we look forward to some more registrations this week. A special mention to Lucy Wallace who represented NSW at the National Baseball Championships over the Easter long weekend. Lucy and the NSW BlueSox team picked up the silver medal going down narrowly by two runs in the final. In between her baseball, kite surfing and numerous other sports Lucy competes in she is definitely one of our busiest students. Commonwealth Games Rugby 7 s Silent Auction The school has been fortunate to obtain a ticket and accommodation package to the Commonwealth Games. This includes three tickets to the Rugby 7 s and a night s accommodation at the Star Resort staying in a two bedroom suite on the Gold Coast. 7 Tennis In conjunction with Max Tennis, the School is looking for new players to join the tennis program. Next term will mark the start of the winter competition. Students are encouraged to register interest in playing in the Saturday morning competition representing Hills Grammar. Max Tennis coaches will grade our players and will look to place them into the appropriate grade. 8 Cricket To further promote our cricket program the school will be offering a winter training program. This is available to all students across all ages. Cricket is a sport that requires continued practise and we encourage all students who might be interested in playing next year to attend these sessions. We have acquired the services of a private cricket coach to run these sessions and we look forward to our students furthering their skills and love of the game. Please see flyer on how to register. 9 Football Wednesday 11 April 6.00 pm at Hills Grammar T3 Australia is excited to announce internationally acclaimed grassroots coach Tom Byer will be visiting Australia. In a roadshow themed Football Starts At Home, Tom will present an enthralling presentation on development and coaching. Hills Grammar School has been chosen for the only Sydney event and it is one that cannot be missed. This night is essential for all parents with children in our T3 program from Under 5 to Under 11 and anyone who is interested in learning from this world-renowned expert. You must register for this event there is no charge for Hills Grammar parents and as a bonus all Hills Grammar parents who attend will receive a free copy of Tom Byer s best selling book Football Starts at Home (one per family). Tom's philosophy has recently incorporated into custom design grassroots programs and strategies for countries and global brands such as Adidas, Volkswagen, AIA Insurance. Tom is the author of 4 books, and has written numerous articles and produced 5 DVD's on grassroots football development which are best sellers in Asia.
