1 NEWSLETTER 2017 Edition 12 Oakhill Drive Netball Club were all smiles on Saturday! UPCOMING EVENTS Round th July Not only were the girls obviously full of Milo goodness on the weekend, we were all beaming with smiles ready for our club photos. We have already seen some of the team photo proofs and I must say we are a good looking bunch at Oakhill Drive Netball Club! Thank you to Kath Geale, our Club Vice President, for organising everyone and attempting to keep us all on our photo schedule. We now have a two week break from netball, so ensure you check with your Coach and/or Manager to see if you are training or not. Happy Winter Break Enjoy your two weeks off and stay warm and safe. We have a couple of weeks off now so enjoy the break. Round 12 is on Saturday 15 th July which is the last Saturday of the school holidays. Please ensure that you notify your coach and/or manager as soon as possible if you will be away for this game so that they can plan accordingly. We know that many of the Oakhill girls have registered for this clinic which is great to see. Have fun girls, we love your enthusiasm and love for netball! Club Photos We are currently in the process of approving photo proofs (Coaches and Managers please check your inbox). Once this has been completed the photos will be printed and distributed to coaches to hand out. Please come along and enjoy the Presentations! 2 Seniors Presentation Dinner 2017 Players, Parents & Partners are invited to come along to our Seniors Presentation Team Dinner 2017 Teams: 13C1, 14A, 14D2, 15C, 15D1, 17C2, 21B, MASTERS B, MASTERS C, OPEN B4, OPEN C1, OPEN C4 Venue: Phoenix Room, Castle Hill RSL 77 Castle Street, Castle Hill Date: Saturday 9th September 2017 Time: Arrive at 6.30pm Presentation: From 7.00pm Registered Players: $20.00 per head Family/Friends: $40.00 per head Money needs to be collected by each team and paid as a whole. Individual payments will not be accepted. Please provide Anita Brading or Zoe Nicholls with the team payments together with a list of attendees. Please note: RSL policy states that all people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the RSL. RSVP and Payment to be received by 19 August 2017 Congratulations to Alexis Masterton for umpiring her first TDP carnival Alexis Masterton attended her first representative Carnival as an umpire on Sunday at Manly. The feedback received was that she represented Oakhill beautifully and all the coaches commented on how much she had improved by the end of the day. Alexis wrote: "I was fortunate enough to be able to umpire 7 games at the TDP carnival on Sunday the 25 th June held at North Curl Curl. Besides the early start to the day, the carnival was such a great experience as I was mentored by some of the best umpires in the BHSNA association. The feedback I received was also great, it was a big eye opener for what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong for example, I was taught how to properly position myself on the base line to have the correct view. At the end of the day my confidence as an umpire grew and I am thankful to Kiri for giving me this opportunity." Umpiring Update Congratulations to Kiri Bowcock who is moving up the umpiring ladder and is now umpiring Division 3 & 4 for Metro League on Monday nights at Netball Central Homebush.

3 9 Green have spades of enthusiasm! What 9 Green lack in final game scores, they make up in spades with enthusiasm and commitment! This season has seen a huge improvement from the first game to the most recent, and with a draw under our belt from last week combined with some new tactical manoeuvres, we're sure to see success sometime in the next four games. This week's game against Baulkham Hills saw Milenna, Harine and Shruthi pull off some beautiful intercepts in defence, preventing numerous attempts at goal by the other team. Kirrily had a super strong game in centre, keeping up with her opposition and providing a steadying influence down the middle of the court. Meanwhile in the wings, Ava, Amelia and Emily worked hard on breaking, sticking with their players and keeping to their sides of the court just as we had practiced at training. Selina and Gemma kept moving in the circle, ensuring lots of opportunity to pass to each other to get to a better position under the post. A few great shots by both girls early on set us up nicely for the game; unfortunately Baulkham Hills managed a few more goals this time round. Keep up the great work 9 Green, you're an absolute pleasure to coach. 5 A rebate to encourage participation in sport The NSW Premier visited Kellyville Netball Courts to discuss the recently announced rebate for kids participating in sports.
