MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING The minutes of the General Meeting held 15th February 2017, were accepted as a true and accurate record. Accepted by: Karen Frost Seconded by: Kerri Roberts 2. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MINUTES State Age Representative Teams have been named. Training has started and there was a BBQ for all players and family, which was held on Friday afternoon, 3 rd March. The Coaching Development Course set down for 12 th March unfortunately has been cancelled. There will be another Development Coaching Course to be held during the year and there will be a Foundation Coaching Course held at PLC on Monday 13 th March. This course will be run through the Department of Sport and Rec and not Netball NSW. Please PLC if you are interested as there are still vacancies. Seating has now been erected near the play space. The play space has been very well used.

4 Umpires Convenor s Report At this stage we have very limited number of umpires for the season. There are only a few Div. 1 umpires. Jo and Sophie Sozou and myself can umpire if need be this year as we are not playing, however we need more volunteers to umpire this season. I have sent out requests for umpires for the rep carnivals, however as yet there haven t been any responses. The question was raised about paying umpires. This has been looked at in the past, however there are issues with workers comp and GST etc. I have the names of 2 UNE girls who have just moved to Armidale and they have said they may be available to umpire this season. I am running a 4 hour umpire session at the UNE on Saturday (1pm-5pm). There are no costs involved. If you are interested please come and see me. Week 1 umpire allocations, for the start of the season, will be up early next week. The carnivals have all been organised for the girls to attend. We need umpires for both the Rep carnivals and for State Age. State Champ teams are still open if anyone is interested in trying out. 5 Registrar / Recorder s Report As at 9am this morning we have 456 players registered which is 173 down on last year. We have 49 teams registered which are only 3 down from last year. Our NetSetGo registrations are down by around 50 at the moment so please spread the word in your club or school and let s try and boost those numbers. Primary registrations close this Friday the 10 th March and NSG registrations close on the 1 st April. We are hoping to run a Go program this year as well as Net and Set. To play Go you will need to be turning 10 this year and have played NetSet for a minimum of 2 years. These games will be played on the hard courts with lower posts. It will run in conjunction with Net and Set starting on the 29 th April. If you would like more information about this please contact me. The draw for the first 3 rounds has been done for Divisions 1 to 6 and the primary draw will be finalised on Monday. I am hoping to publish the draw by no later than Wednesday 15 th March. The rest of the draw will be done in the holidays once grading has been completed. If you have any questions please don t hesitate to contact me. I met with Ray Dufty from Council regarding the divots in courts A & B. Ray is going to organise to get these fixed. Ray also noticed the gutter on the clubhouse needs fixing and one of the toilets was leaking, so he is going to organise for the repairs to be done. The Netta courts have been redressed. I will speak with Jo Sozou to find out how many grassed courts we will need to get marked for this season. 6 Publicity Officer s Report: It was moved by Jude Hansen that Sophie Sozou be nominated as Publicity Officer. This was seconded by Kerrie Roberts. Sports Council Representative s Report Emily Allom has formally resigned from the Sports Council. Therefore Netball does not have a representative on the Sports Council. 7. GENERAL BUSINESS Kathy has met with a third builder to get another quote for the upgrade of the clubhouse. As soon as the third quote has been submitted, Kathy will contact Council to get the renovations moving along. The season will commence in two weeks time, starting at 12 noon. Julie Gates has borrowed some of the equipment from the clubhouse for the Armidale Show. The Commonwealth Bank have offered ADNA the use of their shades, as they have several which are available. The Schools Cup will be held in Armidale on 16 th May, The Schools Cup is open to Primary and Secondary students, from grades 5 to 10.
