The Tournament Coordinator responded that they could be found on the NSW website. So far the only invitations received have been rep carnivals. Clubs may be interested in attending the carnival at Mudgee. Item 7 Memo from Netball NSW regarding Fast 5 Netball. Will consider this for Summer Night Comp if enough interest. Orders for Fixture Books, Rule Books and U for Ump books due in by rego day. Request for training courts also due in by rego day. Barden Ridge N/C have been in contact with Netball NSW, who have advised that Netball Australia may not be reprinting the U for Ump book. St Patricks NSW REPORT: Excavation on the new Netball Centre at the State Sports Centre has commenced. AGM will be held 23rd March voting for 3 Directors M Bettini has been appointed to the Rules Committee. Sylvania Heathcote

5 EXECUTIVE: Kristy Ferguson to run over 50 s and post-natal fitness classes. To commence end of March. More information to follow. Sharks Executive REGISTRARS: Reminder that team sheets must be in by 5.00pm on Friday 1 st March. Money can be paid on rego day. Yellow cards can be dropped off to the stadium the week before rego day or on rego day. Spread sheets are due in on registration day no exceptions. Jenny and Vicki to attend a session on 27 th February, to trial the new online rego system. Heathcote UMPIRES CONVENOR: No nominations received for the position of Umpires Convenor. Please talk to your club members. Di Maclachlan introduced as the Assistant Umpires Convenor. Di is receiving assistance from the Umpires Committee and Anne Keir. Umpires last week attended carnival at Manly. Di would like to see all National badges attend carnivals. It is important to give back to the association. Badged Umpires forms to be submitted ASAP Nominees for beginner umpire practical course to be submitted by 2 nd March Nominees for Level One (beginner umpire theory course) must be submitted by the 17 th March. 6 TOURNAMENT: Rotating timeslots to be run again this year. Please keep requests to a minimum. Requests must come in on one page for each club. 20mins between each timeslot. Netta rule changes:- Players to be substituted into either only attack positions or only defence positions for the duration of the game. 5 seconds to pass the ball Players may defend a shot at goal The initial centre pass will be taken by the team that won the toss and all other centre passes shall be taken by the team that did not score the last goal. 7 Working on a recruitment program for younger coaches and those willing to update. A mission statement was given to all State Age Coaches to alleviate over training and to avoid overuse injuries. This ensures all teams are operating under the SSNA banner with the same goal in mind. A diary of activities will be formulated to ensure there is no overtraining. State Age coaches to meet with their respective club coaches to ensure there is open communication regarding the players. Keep your eyes on the website for further details. Storm N/C expressed concern over the cost of the coaching courses. Many new coaches may not be able to afford to attend these. The President explained that presenter s fees need to be covered. The President to discuss cost of courses with the Coaching Coordinator. Executive SELECTION & REPS: Final selection for juniors:- Tues 26 th March 13yrs 4.00pm to 5.30pm Tues 26 th March 14yrs 6.00pm to 7.30pm Thurs 28 th March 12yrs 4.00pm to 6.00pm Thurs 28 th March 15yrs 6.00pm to 7.00pm Six State League Teams entered and only four players have withdrawn. A meeting was held fitness trainers and physio to discuss overuse injuries. Another meeting to be held with physio, fitness trainers and State Age Coaches. Players to complete training diaries, which coaches will need to monitor to ensure coaches and managers are aware of outside fitness commitments. Sutherland State League 1 Team was nominated as one of the Leader s 2012 top 15 Sporting Achievements. We have had 7 players selected in the 2013 State Teams. We congratulate all of these players and are very proud of their achievements. 8 All State Coaches are from Sutherland being Under 21 Maria Lynch Under 19 Joanne Macdermid Under 17 Lenore Blades And once again we are very proud of the professionalism and knowledge that our coaches have and the acknowledgement they have received from Netball NSW. Thank you to the umpires who have attended selections. All selection details are on our website Representative Selections. If you have any questions please contact Jenny Macpherson in our office on or If she requires clarification she will contact me. Barden Ridge N/C asked what players should wear to JNR rep trials. They would like to see player s trialling in their own clothes, so selectors are not aware of what club they come from. L Woodham from Storm N/C advised that selectors do not look at a player s uniform, however she agrees it would be a good idea. The Rep Liaison Officer to discuss this with the selection panel. Taren Point VICE PRESIDENT: Sponsorship has been obtained from Sydney Airport to advertise on post pads. Battery World, Gymea Lily, Goodbuddy and Menai Indoor to return as sponsors. Pontifex Jewellers and Stevie and Me approached. Senior and Junior rep uniforms have arrived. Umpire shirts and black pants to be collected. Uniforms to be handed out and team photos taken on 04 th April. St Catherines Sylvania

9 RETURNING OFFICER: Committees Nominations and qualifications attached Vote Junior Grading Convenor GENERAL BUSINESS: Working with Children session held on 31 st Jan. Run by Commission for children and young people. New working with children checks to be implemented this year. Until the date is announced the existing check is to continue. Handout attached. Reminder that no dogs, scooters and skateboards are allowed on the grounds on play days. Smoking is not permitted within 10 metres of children, equipment or spectators. Storm N/C would like everyone to think back to the AGM and how unpleasant it was. R Clark spoke of her position as Vice President and how difficult the previous month had been for her. Storm found Renae to be dynamic, keen and doing her best. Storm would like to thank Renae for her efforts, and would like to wish Judy M all the best in her job. Storm was disappointed that at the AGM heckles were heard from the back of the room when Renae was trying to deliver her report. The same people were overheard after the meeting congratulating each other. Storm believes everyone should be given their time to speak. Bullying is not welcome in the schoolyard, or in sport.
