4 REGISTRARS: Swap Night abandoned as many 2010 pink cards had not been returned. Please ensure these are returned ASAP. Registrations commence next week. Registrars will be in attendance at office Tuesday to Friday 10.00am to 2.30pm. Must send through 1 team rego form, and treasurer s summary sheets. SSNA to acknowledge receipt of all team sheets. All info available to be recorded on team sheets. Sharks Taren Pt UMPIRES CONVENOR: Beginner Umpire Practical Day Saturday 3 rd March start and finish time will be confirmed after nominations finalised. Possibly 9am to 12:30pm Practical session in conjunction with 10 s grading. Umpires will meet in the stadium for a short discussion one hour before starting time. Umpires will meet their umpire coach who will then take umpires to their allocated court. I realise clubs are still in the process of finalising registrations so will take nominations up to Wednesday 29 th February - $15 per umpire SSNA will invoice clubs Netball NSW National C Umpire Camp 10 th and 11 th March. All details can be found on the SSNA or Netball NSW website Level One Umpire (education) Accreditation Course 17 th March 10am to 2pm Bellingara Rd Stadium. $35 per umpire. This is a theory course endorsed by Netball NSW For beginner umpires and all umpires who have a goal of attaining a National C Umpire Badge. Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for a National C Badge. All umpires will need to complete the Section One On-line exam and achieve a pass mark of at least 70% Club convenors or people not wishing to be accredited are very welcome to attend - no cost

5 2012 Rule Changes An updated rule book will be available in Most of the rule changes do not affect our local competition. Summary of rule changes on the SSNA or Netball Australia website SSNA Umpire Committee Dianne Ward, Anne Keir, Hayley Burgess, Bronwyn Moar, Dianne Maclachlan, Nicole Greene & Joanne Goudie (assisted by Duncan Lang (badging) and Robin Glennan (modified netball) The SSNA Umpire Committee welcomes all feedback & innovative ideas on how to improve our programs and what courses you would like offered Umpire Log Books Available for sale to club umpires to maintain a record of their games. - $5 per book Given to all umpires in the SSNA Development Program National B Umpire Camp 6 umpires will be attending the Netball NSW National B Camp Emma Watts & Claire Darby (Barden Ridge,) Anna Agius (Menai), Vicki Johnson (Cronulla RSL), Brenda Richardson (Thistles), Lauren Cremona (Magpies) SSNA Shirts for National Badged Umpires - available for sale first play day - $40 per shirt St Caths Bosco TOURNAMENT: Tournament requests must be in writing required by Rego Day. 6 Prelude to coaching Fri 02 nd March Coaching Conference date to be advised Coach mentoring to begin this year Holy Family Fatima SELECTION & REPS: State League Sutherland has selected 6 State League Teams. The selectors went to great lengths to accommodate all Sutherland players of State League standard and turned away players from other districts to ensure our players were included even though the points numbering system used by NSW is to the detriment of the larger associations. State League teams have been submitted to Netball NSW and provisional gradings have been announced. Once gradings have been finalised the teams will be placed on the website with their final grading and coaches and managers names. Fitness has commenced for all teams with Justin Lang and Kristy Ferguson. State Age State Age team selection will be finalised this month. Names will also be placed on the website. The 12, 13 and 14 years attended a twilight gala day at Manly in their squads which assisted selectors. Clubs are reminded that if a representative player wishes to transfer from another club a letter detailing why has to be submitted to the Sutherland Executive prior to registration. Championships State Age this year will be held at Wyong on weekend of 30 June 2012 and State Championships will be held at Penrith on the weekend of 9 June Other News Carla Dziwoki from State League one has been selected to play with the Sydney Swifts Our undefeated 2011 under 17 State Championship Team has been nominated for a Leader Sports Award. Isabella Keogh, Kaitlyn Bryce and Madeline Hay have been selected to play in the Under 17 State Team and Emilee Lang and Teisha Ojeda have been selected to play in the under 19 State Team. Congratulations have been sent to all of these girls.

7 We have a number of players selected in Academy Teams. Congratulations to Tara Liley, Zoe Liley, Eliza Nelson, Chloe Ojeda, Kealey Pennell, Elyssa Pierce, Roslyn Walster and Madeline Woods. 8 GENERAL BUSINESS: Pre-season Competition. To run for 5 weeks commencing Mon 27 th Feb. For up to 16yrs. $100 per team. Clubs have until Wed 22 nd Feb to give expressions of interest. Clubs may also like to consider the possibility of a Monday night comp throughout winter. Connells Pt presented their new uniform Jannali to present new uniform at next meeting. Jannali raised the issue of traffic chaos at Bellingara on a Saturday and suggested the possibility of paying someone to manage the traffic exiting the grounds. The President advised that any sort of traffic control needs to be approved by the RTA, and it could be quite costly. She is to discuss at the Council meeting next week. Clubs please indicate if any requests for over 35yrs teams. Jenny to enquire with council if RTA Carpark at Seymour Shaw can be utilised this year.
