5 DEVELOPMENT OFFICIER (Erica Beggs) report *We re very excited to let you know that following the success of our Lane Ropes to Leadership camp last year, we re now in the planning process of expanding the program. This year we plan to offer a number of camps in regional locations. With tentative dates of September 15/16 & September 22/23. At this stage the camps will be held at Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Coffs Harbour and Dubbo/Orange. We are looking for swimmers who are potential young leaders to take part in these camps, they might be your Club Captain or likely to be in a few years. We want them to be keen and enthusiastic and want to help improve swimming in NSW for their peers! Expressions of Interest close March 31 - so make sure you pop your child s name down asap. With 30 coaches from SISA that attended. *In process of getting locked in an MC information day then to follow a classification day. DEVELP0PMENT CONVENOR REPORT TECHNICAL CONVENOR (Kayleen) Working with children Checks will be starting to be renewed Attending lots of school carnivals Two technical officials Kayleen and Chris officiating at 2018 National Age championships in Sydney (IOT, Computer, Check starter, JOS) MURRAY ZONE REPORT (Phil) Pretty quiet now Corowa at the moment trying to get a 25 m indoor pool at the same cost as fixing the 50m outdoor pool Pool booked for Wodonga SISA 2018 winter speedo Championships RIVERINA ZONE REPORT (Craig) Riverina have their AGM on the 5 th May James Brophy went well Swimming carnivals completed for the summer season

6 SOUTH WEST ZONE REPORT (Stephen) Swimming carnivals completed for this summer season, entries still up and James Brophy went well, everyone seemed to have a ball, and only seven lanes Young Jack Miller from Yanco swam up two age groups during the Brophy meet While swimming one of his events in the 10 yrs boys, he took around 10 seconds off his best time & when this time was checked against the 8 yrs boys results for the same stroke his time would have placed him third apparently, I approached John Skene from Swimming ACT with this information to see if we could find a spare medal for Jack.John said he would arrange one for him either before the end of the meet or have it sent during the next week. I presented Jack with his medal just before lunch after John gave me the medal. Both Jack & his mother were beside themselves Stephen was able to speak to president of Swimming NSW and had a good discussion All reports moved Merv Penny/ Phil Evans GENERAL BUSINESS Wagga Wagga Nomination for hosting 2019 NSW country regional Has been endorsed and sent to Swimming NSW (27 th January 2019) Motion SISA Committee confirms all that was discussed re suggestions for speedo sprints for next year Speedo Sprints SISA Championships to be implemented for 2019 I. Speedo sprints SISA championships to start at 9.30am (Speedo heats 2019 Sunday 3 rd February) II. Parents need to let SISA know on the day that swimmers are attending the Speedo Finals III. Discussion re 2018 speedo Entries issues with parents not letting SISA know that swimmers will be attending IV. Parents also not understanding the RULES of Speedo finals Top 4 eligible swimmers only go through to Speedo finals V. SISA Speedo & Championships Program to have morning session on one page followed by rules like wise afternoon session followed by rules of selection for speedo finals Merv Penny/ Stephen Mawbey Motion: SISA to purchase more representative 50 shirts Stephen Mawbey / Craig Tilston carried carried Have enough SISA caps for the next season Item re clubs hosting SISA Championships to increase from $1 to $2 for host club this to be put to clubs at the AGM Speedo coaches and Mangers $600 between them to be reimbursed: Speedo Finals Kevin Dodds and Stephen Mawbey and coaches Jill Mawbey and Kristi Knight

7 James Brophy coaches and managers Stephen Mawbey and Karyn Flanagan for South West zone and for Riverina Marrie Mott was in charge, Peter Della Franca and Margaret Devries were managers and Gennadiy Labara was the coach Pete Della Franca and Marg Devries ($50 each) Zone AGM South West Sunday 29 th April, Murray Zone 27 th May and Riverina Sunday is 5 th May Proposed date for AGM is to be Sunday 20 th May 2018 SISA COMMITTEE NEXT MEETING Tuesday 1 st May pm, TERMINATION There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.14 pm.
