Weighing in at 4.17kg and being 55cm long it shouldn t be too long before he ll be on the hockey field chasing his brothers and sisters around. Pleasingly mum is well, unsurprisingly rather tired. Hockey however will still be a part of their lives with Skyla already signed up in the local grass competition. I am also assured that visitors will be most welcome.

2 CAVANAGH UPDATE It s Done. The new surface is finally down Hooray! As you can see from the photo there is sand on the surface. It will settle below the surface with use so we need to get down there and have a run around often! Especially over the next 4 to 6 weeks so if you have time, contact me and I ll organsie some keys. There still needs to be work done on the fencing. Hopefully the when and what of that will be resolved with Council over the next few weeks. But for now we have; A hybrid surface Removable posts with caps yes, all four come out and Permanent line marking including a full size D or as much of one as could fit

3 2016 SEASON INFORMATION With a new surface at Cavanagh and The Ponds on the go 2016 should be a good one. Online registrations will open on February 1 st. If you d like to register in person come to Cavanagh; Tuesdays, 6pm to 7.30pm February 2, 9, 16 and 23 Saturdays, 2.30pm to 4pm February 6, 13, 20 and 27 If you have some friends who are thinking about joining us but who d like to have a try first let them know they can come down to any of these sessions and have a go. Hopefully they too will be hooked. 4 HELP NEEDED contact Lyn , Each and every year our club runs because volunteers, ie mums and dads and now senior players put up their hands to help out. If they didn t; we d fall apart and you d either have to join another club or just not play. This year we have been fortunate enough to have Simon take on the treasurer s role, Louise take over KLHC s Facebook page and Updesh take over the chocolate fundraiser. There are still a number of roles however that we need help with. If you think that you can help please let us know; President Kate has remained on the committee but stepped down from this role so is there to provide guidance should anyone think they d be able to take on the leadership of the club. Committee Member With Lynda leaving for the Bay there is an additional vacancy on the committee. Committee members are expected to attend monthly meetings and help out where they can. Meetings are held the 4 th Monday of the month commencing at 8pm. Delegated Roles Registrations This role presently involves ensuring that the HNSW rego portal is set up correctly, that all KLHC members are registered and player information is distributed appropriately. Jnr Comp Manager / NHA Delegate This person oversees KLHC s involvement in the North Area Competition including attending North Area meetings which are usually held on the 3 rd Monday of each month at Ryde Equipment Officer goalie gear This role involves ensuring that keeper s kits go out to teams clean and in good order at the start of the season and then checked on return before being put in to storage for the off-season. They will also organise repairs and or replacements as required. Equipment Officer- general This role involves looking after all other club equipment; keeping an up to date record of stock, organising the distribution and return of team gear at the start and end of the season including the coach and manager s gear and replacement and repairs as necessary. Uniform Co-ordinator This role involves maintaining an accurate record of stock levels and providing the committee with purchase recommendations. It also involves being on hand to sell stock to players particularly at the start of the season. Fund Raising-Bunnings BBQ The person taking this on will be responsible for the BBQ on the day. Bookings, food and drink orders, rosters, floats, etc can be done by the committee if help is needed in this area. Fund Raising-Trivia Night As with the BBQ the person taking on this role will largely be responsible for activities on the day. Help can be provided by the committee with things such as hall bookings, prizes, promotions if needed. Coach and Manager Hats These will be finalised as teams are formed.
