1 Thinking hockey 2018 yet? It is time! Stand up; grab your sticks, your mates and get on down to Cavanagh during February for a pre-season hit around or two; 6pm to 8pm Tuesday February 13, 20 and 28th 6pm to 8pm Thursday February 15, 23 and March 1st Not sure if hockey is for you? Then come and have a try, gear supplied. No bookings required. Just turn up; 6pm to 8pm Tuesday February 13, 20 and 28th 6pm to 8pm Thursday February 15, 23 and March 1st Season 2018 some things you need to know; Kings Langley Hockey Club registrations will open in mid-february The $ Active Kids Rebate may be put towards hockey registration for eligible school aged children 2018 fees are as follow; Age Group KLHC Fee NWSHA Fee HNSW Fee U7s TBA U9s U11s U13s U15s U17s Open Men Payments must be made to all 3 bodies, ie KLHC, NWSHA and HNSW to complete your registration for 2018 Training commences the week beginning Monday 5 March at Cavanagh Training commences Wednesday 4 April at The Ponds 7s/9s - Cavanagh Tuesday 6.00pm to 6.45pm Tuesday 6 March 7s/9s The Ponds Wednesday 6.15pm to 7.00pm Wednesday 4 April 11s/13s - Cavanagh Tuesday 6.45pm to 7.45pm Tuesday 6 March 15s/17s Cavanagh Thursday 7.00pm to 8.00pm Thursday 8 March Men - Cavanagh TBC Women TBC - If numbers warrant we will enter a women s team in to competition in 2018 Games for 11s, 13s, 15s, 17s commence early April Games for 7s, 9s commence early May Nominations for coach and manager roles should be sent to; klhcsecretary@gmail.com

2 Introducing KLHC s 2018 Club President Chris Swadling Chris and his family joined us from the Central Coast last year. Playing goal keeper in the men s side and overseeing his oldest son s participation in U7s it was pretty evident to the rest of us that Chris had plenty of hockey experience; Chris started playing at age 3 as part of a hockey family. He has since gained level 1 and 2 umpiring and coaching qualifications and his level 1 umpire coach qualification. He has also been on the Central Coast Hockey Association Board of Management. Chris is keen on seeing the club develop this year, particularly in the areas of coaching and umpiring. If you d like to catch up you can contact him on his mobile; Things we ll hope you ll notice at Cavanagh this season; Fencing improvements, an amenities building upgrade and a new awning funded with club and government monies; Work Club Funding Government Funding Amount Fencing Upgrade $7, Federal - Building Stronger Communities Grant $6, Amenities Building $5, State Community Building Partnership Grant $10, Upgrade Awning $6, TBC $6, Blacktown Council is overseeing these projects and completing any additional works required including electrical works. 3 Catching Up KINGS LANGLEY HOCKEY CLUB NEWS UPDATE Summer Hockey About 20 juniors joined last term s summer programme at The Ponds. Ranging in age from 5 to 14 and assisted ably by a number of parents and older siblings most seemed to enjoy their Wednesday evenings.
