1 Sports Snippets - Term 1 Week 9 Wednesday 28th March, 2018 We would love to share information about your child s special achievements across all sporting areas, so please detailed information and a photograph if available to: skellett@arm.catholic.edu.au Bmx australian championships Last week Zac Whalan travelled to Bunbury, Western Australian to compete in the BMX Australian Championships racing against 71 other riders from all over Australia. He rode really well all day having to complete 7 races to make it through to the final and then coming away with a 4th place in the final. This means that he will now ride with an 4A plate for the next 12 months and has the opportunity to compete in the BMX World Championships in June in Baku, Azerbaijan. Well done Zac!! 2 Polding Swimming Trials Sienna Marzato and Lily Androutsos from St Edward s represented our Armidale Diocese at Polding Swimming Trials at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in Homebush. The carnival is very much like a state carnival with the best swimmers from the Sydney Harbour to the Queensland border. The girls both swam well even though Lily was unwell. Sienna made a couple of PB s which was excellent.
