Along with the School Review Surveys completed by Staff and Students, this will give us a good indica on of what is working well and what we can improve here at school. Ironically, the Department has just informed us that the annual Parent Opinion Survey is now ready for comple on as well. There will be a le er distributed today with this Newsle er that sets out the link and a unique school code for you to use. The ming of this DET Parent Opinion Survey is obviously not ideal considering we have just completed a survey but this is out of my control. I would like to think that we can have a high comple on rate for this Parent Opinion Survey though as it is an important annual indicator of Parent sen ment. Thank you in advance for your support. Our Spor ng Schools Badminton program has begun today and will run for the next three weeks on the same day and at the same mes each week. Our Spor ng Schools Basketball program starts next Tuesday with Shepparton Gators American import Spencer Coleman. This program will take place over four sessions as well and will culminate in a trip to the Shepparton Sports Stadium. Our Goal Se ng Conferences will take place next Monday whilst students a end classes as usual throughout the day. Please see the updated metable which is a ached to this Newsle er. Some families have made necessary adjustments with Classroom Teachers already. Please be punctual and allow enough me for students to be collected from the STEM Lab (Grades 2-6) or Library (Grades F-1) before your scheduled me. We look forward to sharing the goals that our students have set for themselves this Semester. The school finally had the chance to present the extended Fletcher family with a thank you card for all of the me that has been put into designing and repain ng our very colourful Cubby House. It was great to see Maddelyn s mother and grandparents here at Assembly last Friday to accept the card signed by all of the students at school. The Cubby House really does look fantas c and new sand has also been added to spruce up the sandpit. All of this has been made possible by a kind dona on last year by the local Phillips Family who have had many genera ons of students a end the school. We are currently in the process of checking dates and spelling to ensure the plaque being erected is correct! Please remember that tomorrow, Friday 3 rd August, is a Student-free Curriculum Day. Staff will use the day to collate our School Review Survey Results, put the finishing touches on our Pre-Review Self-Evalua on and update Student Assessment Data in our whole-school Learning Programs. 5 Congupna Cruzers Round 10 Report Under 6 s The weather was great for Under 6 s this week. Lacey was captain against Toolamba United and led the team well. All the kids tried hard and we scored some great goals. Giving out awards each week is ge ng harder as the team is working very well together. Sophie, Lacey, Ruby Caroll and Will Ludlow received the awards this week. Well done. Coach Jason Under 7 s Firstly, I d like to thank Mrs V for filling in as coach last week. From all reports she did a great job, maintaining her professionalism and containing her overwhelming excitement when seeing her son Parker kick his first goal for the year (un l they got into the car for the drive home). Secondly, I d like to thank Sco for filling in as coach this week as there was a bovine life in need of saving just before the start of the game that meant I was a few minutes late. The boys were on fire from the warm ups this week as Cooper snapped one of the goal supports with a tracer bullet shot on goal. Tate led the team in classy fashion with some great a acking and clever defending. Simmie dazzled players, spectators and the ref with some intricate dribbling, as did Carter with some silky skills to weave past defenders on a number of occasions. Carter, Reuben, Blake and Parker were all solid in defence, ge ng in the way of many a empts on goal from the opposi on. Jessie, the ul mate team player, lead the way in the smiles department as usual. The score line was pre y lopsided, but it didn t detract from the enjoyment one li le bit. Kai was my assistant award nominator and perhaps unsurprisingly his brother Tate picked up one award, not for his efforts on the field, but more so for his encouragement of his teammates from the side lines. It s something our team are working on improving over the last few rounds of the season. Carter also scored an award for his clever dribbling. We re looking forward to next week already. Coach Bre Under 8 s It was a terrific week for our Under 8 s Cruzers. We arrived to find that Wilmot Road was very under-manned so rather than play a four-a-side game with four on the bench, we asked for some volunteers from our side to play for the opposi on. Kai and Alina (Award) willingly volunteered so that everyone could par cipate and that is, a er all, why we turn up to have fun and play soccer! A er having another player arrive at half me, we then asked Bodhi to step in for the second half. Narley (Award) was terrific scoring two goals whilst Tom chipped in with one. Bodhi and Alina both did a fantas c job as both goalkeepers and opposi on players. Amaia and Lilly were fantas c in the clinches and when they found space on the wings. Kai was tenacious as usual and Jack really laid his boot into a few monster kicks and most of them went the right way. We had a very good 3-0 victory but the most impressive thing once again was the fantas c sportmanship, encouragement and the smiles on everyone s faces. We now move to our final four games star ng at 10:30am so let s hope for some beau ful sunny mornings as we edge closer to Spring. Coach Adam Under 10 s Hi everyone and wow what a game the Cruzers played on Saturday morning. All the boys locked in and the game was definitely one sided with the boys having control of the ball for the majority of the game. This was s ll a heavily contested game but it seemed at every turn the Cruzers were all over it and the team work was again amazing with Deacon once again taking control of the defence effort in the back and all the a empts by the opposi on were quickly squashed with some amazing passing to get the ball back to our goal. While the score was 7 goals to the Cruzers it could have been a lot different if a few more shots were a bit more accurate because the ball definitely spent more me at the Cruzers goal. Our goal scorers were Will with 3 goals and Hunter with 4 with an amazing goal from the corner and a back flip to match. The whole team was working together like they always do and as usual they were having fun at the same me which is great to watch. There is only 5 games le so if you haven t watched a game you need to hurry up and come and see this amazing bunch of boys playing together. Everyone in the team seemed to be in the ac on like Will and cooper were everywhere as well as Hunter, Sean,James and Darcy also had a ripper of a game also Riley who took a nasty hit from a fast moving ball off hunters boot but in true Cruzers form he was back with his team mates to help. There was also lee who done some amazing passing to get the ball back to our goal it was just an exci ng game to watch. This week the awards went to Will who took out the Macca,s award for his amazing game. Cooper who took out the sheep pizzas award, Darcy took out the go jump award and Riley took the coach s $2 encouragement award with an awesome game. Riley was also goal keeper along with Lachlan M in the second half who also did a fantas c job. The applica on form for the soccer gala day was also submi ed on Saturday with Peter from SJSA very excited to have our team entering this year as he couldn t tell me enough how thrilled they would be to have our team in as they have been taking no ce of the boys efforts and they are very impressed. As I know more I will keep you posted but he said to me you boys are definitely in so I guess I can take that as a yes. The gala day will be the weekend a er the last game and they will also require some volunteers from our team to do a shi to help with the BBQ or to set up or pack up so keep the 8th of September free. This will be an amazing day with the boys always eager to play as some boys stayed back and helped out another team a er their last game and although towards the end their second game they looked a bit red you could see they were having so much fun, I don t think they no ced.
