1 Safe Operating Procedure Mini Golf Personal Protective Equipment Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times. Gloves may be worn when handling the equipment. Trolleys should be used to move each section Pre-Operation Checks Driver is to inspect load, paying attention to the load restraints, prior to departure as per the Driving and Towing Safe Operating Procedure. Driver to briefly inspect the roadworthiness of the vehicle prior to departure as per the Driving and Towing Safe Operating Procedure. Driver and Supervisor (may not be the same person) to be briefed on site details/plan prior to departure, as much as is possible. Supervisor to have contact information for security, first aid and event manager. All Street Hassle Events Employees/Contractors supervising the minigolf are to have read, understood and signed this document. All persons assisting with the loading/unloading must understand correct manual handling techniques and all persons assisting with the installation/set up of the mini golf must either have read, understood, and signed this document or be supervised by a person who has. Customers who have hired the Mini-golf activity and have elected to have their own personnel supervise/install/remove or otherwise operate the Minigolf do so at their own risk and Street Hassle Events does not accept liability for the operation, transport, or safety of the minigolf as per the Hire Contract. Installation refer to accompanying Risk Assessment Park vehicle as close as possible to the location of the minigolf Using either Bollards, traffic cones, pigtail posts or other barrier, install the perimeter fencing around the play area. Using either two people or a trolley, unload each section and position them within the play area. Refer to example Set up plans and Risk Assessment if needed. Adjust/reposition fencing as necessary. If necessary use the provided packers to level each of the sections. Ensure that each section Is no higher than 100mm. Install instructional signage at the entry point, prepare putters, golf balls and score sheets. Double check installation, pay attention to; The stability of each section, ensure that each section does not slide freely/easily The room between each section, each section should be a minimum of 1.5m from the nearest section Open minigolf to the public at the appropriate time, ONLY if safe to do so There should be no more than 5 people per group. Only one group per hole, allow the new groups entry once the first hole is empty and the last group allowed entry has moved to the second hole.

2 Only one right handed adult putter, one kids putter and one left handed adult putter to be issued per group. This reduces the risk of play fighting with the putters Only one golf ball to be issued to each group. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised. Speak to anyone who is breaching the course rules, evict if necessary. While Supervising Minigolf pay attention to each group, look for unsafe behaviour/breach of rules Collect each groups Putters, ball, and clipboard (used for scoresheet) upon exit. Return any stray balls to the course and speak to the group. Eject from activity if necessary. Removal refer to accompanying Risk Assessment Stop permitting patrons entry a few minutes prior to the closure of the mini golf. Allow all patrons to finish playing before packing up the activity Put away the golf balls and putters first, then load the holes/sections into the vehicle, then pack away the perimeter fencing. Double check area prior to leaving. Ensure the driver has inspected the load restraints prior to departure. Course Rules Listen to the supervisor at all times. Only use the putters for putting the golf ball. Do not stand on the mini golf course. Do not throw the golf ball. Do not lift or move the mini golf sections. Be patient with other groups on the course. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult. Groups should not have more than 5 people. Footwear must be worn at all times. Issuing putters and golf balls Each group should not have more than 5 people. Only one golf ball per group. A maximum of one children s putter (hollow plastic) and one right handed adult putter and one left handed adult putter to be given to each group. Only issue left handed putters if requested. Small children can use an adult putter if they are being supervised. Offer each group a scoresheet, they can refuse if they like. Remind each group of the rules prior to entry.

Restrain sections/holes with 2 x ratchet straps (lashing capacity must equal or exceed 100kg) Driver to check load restraint prior to departure. Set up perimeter using bollards/pigtail posts and bunting around job site prior to unloading the mini golf holes/sections. Remain alert for intrusion by public into job site while installing the minigolf. Politely instruct members of the public who enter worksite to leave and walk around. Signage at entry and instructions on score sheet to instruct players to putt softly. Supervisor to speak to players who are putting forcefully and remove from play area if needed. Appropriate putter to be issued to players. Children under the age of to be supervised by an adult. Maximum of one adult putter and one children s putter to be given to each play group. Additional putters to be given only if players are left handed. Each play group to be given one golf ball upon entry. If possible position sections/holes so that golf balls are not hit in the direction of pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Supervisor to collect stray balls as soon as possible and speak to players about correct putting if necessary. Instruction to stand behind or to the side of the player putting to be given to players by signs at the entry to the play area. Players to be instructed to adhere to the rules of play by supervisor if seen to be breaching them, players are to be removed from play area if necessary. Children under the age of 12 to be supervised by an adult. All nails/screws/staples to have their points facing away from player (downwards or inwards) and have a minimum of 5mm of Supervisor. 8 Players standing on mini-golf sections or in front of player putting. - Trip hazard - Risk of being struck by golf ball 3 4 Supervisor.

Supervisor to stop mini-golf immediately, play to resume once supervisor has assessed risk. Provide first aid for minor injuries, Contact onsite first aid or other staff if necessary. Contact security if injury caused by an assault. Supervisor to have read, understood and signed this document and the accompanying Safe Operating Procedure prior to supervising mini golf. Sides of mini-golf sections/holes to be made from composite decking that poses no splinter risk. All wooden surfaces that player can come into contact with are to be sanded down to minimise risk of splinter. All obstacles higher than 300mm to have no sharp angles/corners. All obstacles higher than 300mm to be painted bright colours. All obstacles to not extend past the edges of the mini-golf holes/sections. Damaged obstacles to be removed from use. Obstacles to have no moving parts, no water/liquids and no electrical components. Supervisor to speak to persons climbing/playing with obstacles. Supervisor to instruct players to use putters solely for putting. Signage on entry and scorecards to instruct players to only use putter for putting. Players to be evicted from play activity if they continue to use putters incorrectly/in a safe manner. Security to be contacted immediately if player refuses to leave play area. All nails/screws/staples to have their points facing away from player (downwards or inwards) and have a minimum of 5mm of wood/composite decking between the point and the edge of the wood/composite decking. Head of each nail/screw/staple to be level with or below the surface of the wood/composite decking. Persons installing mini golf. Supervisor of activity. Supervisor to inspect for protruding nails/screws/staples. Manufacturer to build to standards to the right.

Supervisor is to be given a 15-minute toilet break for shifts longer than 4 hours. Supervisor is to wear appropriate clothing, such as a hat when working outdoors. Two supervisors may be used for busy/long shifts. Rules to be displayed on sign located at entry and on each scoresheet. Supervisor to tell patrons rules prior to play.
