No reservations required. Make the day memorable... Enjoy breakfast, then get out on the course for a round of golf. Grab a tee time early before they fill up. Jazz on the Patio Every Thursday in June 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Every Thursday all summer long will be the Jazz on the Patio Series. These evenings feature live music and a different barbeque each week. This is a family event and lots of fun. Thanks to all who came and made the first night so successful. We have some great entertainers lined up so don t miss out. No reservations are required and the cost is $10 per person. Friday Night Lights Couples Twilight Friday, June 14th 5:00 pm drinks/registration ~ 5:30 start The first of these Friday Night Lights events on May 31st was a huge success. Join other members on June 14th for another 9 holes of golf in a fun format for everyone to enjoy. Open to member and guest; played in teams of one man and one woman. The entry fee is $10. Guests can play for $20 plus the entry fee for the event. Contact the golf shop to sign-up. Jim Braden Director of Food & Beverage 2 nd Annual Silver Oak Wine Dinner Friday, June 14th The dinner will feature Chef Keelan s beautifully crafted five course menu with a wine pairing for each course. The meal will begin with a Medallion of Mahi Mahi with prosciutto wrapped melon and white balsamic. We will follow that with Gazpacho and then a Summer Salad with sliced local aprums, cherries, pistachios, parmesan tulle and lemon honey vinaigrette. The entrée of Peppered Beef Tenderloin Bites with Queen Anne Potatoes and red wine gastrique will be proceeded by a vanilla ice cream with a berry compote and sugared won ton strips. We wait to have this dinner in early June so that we can take advantage of the new spring releases from Twomey Winery which is Silver Oaks sister and does the white wines. This year s Sauvignon Blanc is delightful. The dinner will start at 6:30 pm and the cost is $50 per person. Reservations are required and must be made at or at jbraden@cattaverdera.com. Sign up today! 2013 Junior Camps Spring ~ Summer ~ Fall Eligibility: Camps are open to children 8-17 years of age. -Members: Children and grandchildren of CVCC members. -Member Guests: If a member would like to bring a guest junior player to a camp they may do so. The cost is an additional $30.00 ($75.00+$30.00= $105.00) Price: All Four (4) clinics are $250 per child. If a child would like to attend less than the Four (4) clinics they may do so. *This year we are allowing children to sign up for only one, two, three or all four sessions. The cost for each session is $75.00 which includes three days of instruction, each session is 3-hour, a camp shirt and a summer BBQ. Camp Dates: June July 9-11 July 30, 31 Aug. 1 August Dress Code: Participants must adhere to Catta Verdera Country Club dress code. 3 F r o m T h e M e m b e r s h i p D i r e c t o r The Catta Verdera Member Advisory Board and Management have decided to extend the $2,500 initiation fee until we reach the #251 Golf membership number since we are so very close. Curtis Landa Membership Director I currently a few people very interested and wanted to thank every member for their support in referring potential members to me. I m hopeful that Catta Verdera will reach the #251 goal sometime in June. Catta Verdera would like to welcome the following new members: Brent Chaffee-Golf Michael & Michelle Helzer- Golf William McGillivray-Golf Brian & Kristina Hanson-Social AC Corner F r o m T h e A d v i s o r y C o m m i t t e e To: All CVCC Members Subject: Formation of Rules and Grievance Committee In conjunction with Club management, the Advisory Committee will be taking on a new additional role. One of the results of the growth of any club is an increasing number of member issues. In order to facilitate the resolution of these issues, the Advisory Committee, or a subset thereof, will serve as a Rules and Grievance Committee. This is a common practice at many private clubs and helps to ensure that the Member s experience is not compromised. The purpose of the Committee is to investigate disputes arising within the Club and to effectuate resolution. Member issues can come from a variety of circumstances but result most typically from: Violations of Club policies, and Member Etiquette and Behavior We all want to follow the rules of golf and adhere to Club policy. Likewise, it is important that we behave responsibly when at the club and interacting with one another and club employees. The rules and regulations of golf, as well as the Etiquette of Golf as published by the USGA should be familiar to every golfer. Displaying this knowledge and courtesy in every round adds to the pleasure of everyone involved. Problems occur when there is a lack of consideration by an individual or small group. Under such conditions, the Rules and Grievance Committee will act to protect the overall interests of Catta Verdera s membership. We are currently developing the process for both the submittal and review of any member issue or grievance as well as the potential consequences and outcomes from the review. If all of us follow club policies and act responsibly, it is our hope and belief that the need to pull in this committee will be minimized. We will get out additional information in the near future. In the interim, if you have any questions/concerns about this, please let one of us know. The first two matches for the CVCC Dynamite were victorious with the Dynamite coming out on top with a 7-2 victory over the host Turkey Creek GC and a 9-3 victory over Darkhorse GC. 6 Superintendent s Update Dear members and Cabrillo participants. We were honored to have your participation in the Cabrillo Classic this year. My staff and I had a fabulous time preparing the course, running double and split shifts in order to achieve the results we were looking for. We are exceptionally pleased with the outcome, and hope you enjoyed the spectacular course conditions we had and continue to have. Ramiro Sena Course Superintendent Just a friendly remainder, please keep your golf carts on the paths on all par 3 s and where we have the directional signs throughout the course. We place these signs to prevent severe compaction and to avoid unsafe driving on steep slopes. Also, please be patient with the staff spraying the hot spots during the heat of the summer. Some areas of the turf require more attention then others due to the granite soil base.
