4 FROM THE PRO Upcoming events RICK MC CALL, JR. ARE YOU THE NEXT PLAYER OF THE YEAR? With April comes the start of our tournament season and the race for the Men s and Women s Player of the Year. The Men s Opening Tournament and Gonzalez Opening Breakfast will be held on May 19 th and the Ladies Opener will be held on April 30 th. Please check the website ( for all of the tournament dates. The tournament signup sheet is currently in the shop. LADIES FUNDAMENTALS CLINICS Ladies at any level of play will enjoy getting their game off to a great start this season by working on fundamentals and the short game. The clinic consists of a series of 4 classes. $90 Member MISGA WANTS YOU! Are you a golfer, age 50 or older? Join MISGA, if you haven t already! Here s why: Play many other Delaware and Maryland courses, as often as once a week. Enjoy the company of other golfers from other courses. For $45 or less, you get a continential breakfast, range and green practice, a round of golf (with cart), and lunch. If your 4-some wins or places, you get prizes! Count on a that pays nicely when you win. Interested? Initiation fee is $30. No annual dues. Look for the application forms on the MISGA bulletin board in the golf shop. 5 THURSDAY QUOTA POINT GOLF I would to invite all members to play in the Thursday Night Quota Point Golf beginning Thursday, April 3, We will be teeing off at 3 PM; however, if you would like to be part of the Quota Point and cannot make it at 3PM, you are more than welcome to play anytime during the day (Thursdays only) and turn in your score card to the golf shop. You may also bring guests, as everyone is welcome. The Quota Point Club is a weekly event with scoring based on a modified Stableford System. The scoring is as follows: Greater the Double Bogey: Double Bogey: Bogey: Par: Birdie: Eagle or Better: -1 Point 0 Points 1 Points 2 Points 3 Points 5 Points The first time you play is based on your handicap deducted from 36 which gives you your quota. For example, 10 handicap has a quota of 26 points (36-10=26). Your quota is adjusted on a weekly basis, changing based on your quota the week before, not your handicap. Your quota is based on how many above or below you scored. For every 2 points you are above your quota, your quota the following week will be 1 point higher for every 2 points over and if you are under your quota, your quota will 1 point less for every 2 points you were under your quota. There are prizes every week for first, second, and third place, closest to the pin front and back and for birdies and/or eagles. There is an entry fee of $16 per week to play. This will be our fourth year doing the Quota Point and we would love to have a large turnout every week. We will run the Thursday Quota Point until time changes in the fall. There are also beer, wine, and taco specials when we are finished. This has become one of, if not the best, gaggles at Wild Quail and we would love to make it even bigger and more fun. We have a year-end party in the fall which is a cost to anyone who has played at least 5 times during the year. DEMO DAYS MEET WITH A VARIETY OF TOP GOLF CLUB COMPANIES ON THE DRIVING RANGE!
