7 WQLGA 2019 Wild Quail Ladies Golf Association The Wild Quail Ladies Golf Association (WQLGA) is gearing up for a season of golf, camaraderie and fun times we have some exciting things planned and we invite you to be a part of it! By joining the WQLGA 9-Hole group, you can participate in any of the events planned this year, including (but not limited to) Opening and Closing Days, Member/Guest, Ladies Day, and other tournaments. You will be eligible for any prizes or awards. 8 Wild Quail House Committee Meeting Highlights Mug Club -- Discontinued until further notice -- Management is working on a program that works for the house, its members, accounting, and the staff. Dining Reward Program -- Management would like to show its appreciation for your patronage, so effective 04/01/2019, we will be implementing a reward program: If you spend at least $550 in a quarter, you will receive a credit of 5% back on your member account. Pool & Tennis -- Management is currently working to repair the pool area including restroom remodeling, pool repainting, and new lighting. -- Management has a job posting for a Full-time pool manager in Indeed.com -- Management is currently working to repair the tennis courts including resurfacing, designating a pickleball court, and fence repair 2019 Entertainment -- Management is currently lining up this year s events including Cigar & Bourbon Night, Crab Feast, live music twice a month, along with holiday celebrations. -- Open events will have a member price and a non-member price Make sure you Follow & Like us on social media!

9 The Wild Quail Golf Committee held their monthly meeting on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 6 PM. The following agenda items were reviewed/decided upon Golfing News The Committee welcomed our new Golf Professional Grayson Rossi GAP matches begin mid- April, the club will be represented by two teams, awaiting schedule The Committee shared their thoughts regarding the adoption of any club rules associated with the new rules of golf. Focus was on the penalty areas on the 7th and 17th holes. Greyson will tour the course and provide his recommendations to the Committee at the March meeting. May 3rd will welcome 4 golf manufacturers to our club for what has been called Demo Day. It is being planned as an event this year so mark your calendars! Course Maintenance/improvements We will be organizing one or two Divot Days for members to spend a few non golfing hours on the course filling divots, other course care activities and of course partying while we work! In an effort to allow the course to thaw out & provide our Maintenance team adequate time to prepare it during the off season (January March 31st), the first tee time will not be before 9 AM starting in It s important to know who is on the course, Checking in with the pro shop is required and communication regarding that process will be forthcoming. The course will be closed for two days in late March to allow the Maintenance team full access to complete green aerification. Greyson has multiple opportunities for play on other area courses during this period. Fairway aerification will begin in early March & require the closing of one hole at a time during this process. Please skip this hole allowing our Course Superintendent & his crew full access to it as they prepare us for excellent conditions this season. To assist with mowing operations & minimize the damage to our bunker rake handles, we are asking members to modify the bunker rake process from last year. Rake handles are to remain perpendicular to the bunker edge but the end of the handle is now to be placed just into the sand. A photo will follow next month. We are purchasing 50 new rakes & will convert to an aluminum handle. The Committee is also exploring putting bunker rakes on carts & a few strategic areas on each hole. Tee play has been from the front of the boxes as requested during this off season thank you. Various low lying water collection areas are targeted for drainage improvements the area in front of #2 tee is complete Wet weather has delayed the schedule for lime application but it will be completed as the weather breaks. Green surrounds remain on the schedule to be aerified & seeded this spring Our Head Professional & Course Superintendent will go on course with our owner over the next few weeks to further evaluate the Committee s recommendations for Projects that will improve fairness of play & enhance course appearance (hole #11 focus).
