Dinner is by Reservation in the Dining Room Prior to the Tournament Start Music, Complimentary Munchies and a Bar by Signature will be Available in the Ballroom During the Tournament WHAT IS CORN HOLE? Corn Hole is a popular game (similar to a bean bag toss) played in backyards and at sports tailgates around the country. Check out WHO CAN JOIN IN? EVERYONE! Men, Women, Friends and Neighbors This is an adult-only event; no children allowed. Please sign up your 2-person teams as soon as possible so that we may begin the bracket preparations. Creative team names encouraged! Prizes will be awarded at the end of the series to the winning teams. Denim is permitted for dinner and the tournament. Babysitting services will NOT be available for this event.

The staff at Hillendale Country Club is very excited as we begin the 2015 season. As I reflect back on 2014, there are many reasons to be excited about all the activities and events which made last year one of the best in years. Pristine golf course conditions, excellent service at the Pro Shop, fabulous Club events, a vibrant House/Social Committee, the Junior Committee, Gabby Forte in Membership, all the great tennis and pool activities and our restaurant staff, especially Gregg Morrison our Head Bartender and Renee Murphy, Private Event Sales. It may seem like I am bragging about all of our accolades for 2014, but I would prefer to say that I am very proud of the effort that the staff gave last year. We will not rest on our past success; we will continue to build on them and keep HCC moving on an exciting and positive path. Now that the holidays are behind us, it is time to begin sharing our wonderful Club with friends and colleagues as we look towards the Spring and another great Membership drive. Last year we were able to add fiftyfive new families to our Club. As important, our normal Membership attrition was less than we budgeted and less than in year s past, as only a few Members resigned last fall. The Membership Committee will continue to investigate ways to add new members to the Club. The reality is, we need your help as well. Please keep the Club in mind for your friends and colleagues, and Gabby Forte is always available to give Club tours or answer questions. We will continue to offer incentives to those Members who sponsor new members. The Club is now operating under our winter hours of operation, so please review this newsletter for a complete list of days/times we are now open. Here are several key things to remember over the next three months: Thursday Night is Pasta Night with Chef Mark Cala Friday Night is our Happy Hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday Nights feature our Dinner Menu with New Specials each week - look out for the Club s including these. 3 Membership Report Hillendale Members, Gabby Forte I hope everyone had a wonderful start to their New Membership Marketing Director Year! We at Hillendale are eager to make 2015 just gabby@hillendalecc.com as successful for our Members as last year. We will begin hosting our Prospective Member Happy Hours again in the coming months, so look out for those dates to bring in any friends, family, co-workers or neighbors that may be interested in Membership at Hillendale! We will also be hosting another Spring Open House, which is a great time for those that have never been to Hillendale to experience a day at the Club! These dates will be out soon - so make sure to mark your calendars. It is important that our Members CONTINUE to spread the good word about the Club. I say continue because so many of our Members proudly brought friends and family on as Members in We are still running the internal incentive of bring on & sponsor a new Member, and your debt service will be eliminated. This will END come the Spring, so make that final connection if you have anyone interested in becoming Members! On another note, I m proud to announce that Hillendale is in the midst of a website re-design. We will keep the Members updated on the progress, but it should be live and ready come March. The new design will not only look updated and more in the Hillendale style, but will have easier accessibility from your smart phones and tablets with the new Mobile Version. Look out for the date the re-designed site goes live, when you will be able to enjoy an improved online Hillendale experience. I m urging Every Single Member to think of someone in 2015 they can invite out to play golf or tennis, swim at the pool, dine in the Clubhouse or attend one of our great events! It is through these Member connections that we welcome long-lasting Hillendale Members! Blake & Lisa Harper Event-Dining Members Blake and Lisa were married at Hillendale in September of 2014, and had a wonderful experience! They have just moved to the neighborhood and are eager to meet new people. Blake is also an avid Golfer! Joseph & Linda Hoffman Social Members Joe is the Assistant V.P. of McLean Contracting Company, and Linda is a Senior Associate at JMT Consulting. Together they have three children: Ashlyn, 8; Tara, 6; and Brayden, 4. They look forward to attending Hillendale events and using the pool in the Summer! Page 3

We are excited to be entering the 2015 calendar preparing for another great season on the course. We just purchased our chipper to help with the efficiency of our tree removal program. Our first stop this year with tree work was on number 3. We took out three sick ash trees that were between 3 green and 4 tee. The added benefit to these trees being gone is the fact that the large oak tree next to the green is now a more prominent accented feature. When we begin work with our tree service on the difficult to remove trees, instead of them chipping the debris, we will do the chipping saving us about 50% of the cost. The third tee is coming along well. The back tee is ready for drainage but the front tee is extremely wet and won t get its final grading until it s dry. I still anticipate opening these tees in mid-may. The eighth tee is in need of more soil to help with proper grading of the tee surround. We are currently considering options to acquire the amount of soil needed to complete this project.
