3 March 31, 2016 Hello Team Captains, On behalf of the Junior Golf Association of Northern California, I would like to invite you and your team to Modesto, California to participate in the! The host site for this event is the located in the heart of California. Hotel accommodations have been arranged for Team Captains at the Double Tree in Downtown Modesto. Enclosed is additional information regarding travel arrangements, accommodations, general tournament information and a schedule of events for the week. 5 General Tournament Information Host Course: 801 Stewart Road Modesto, CA (209) Head Golf Professional: Fred Rodriguez, PGA Team Eligibility: Dress Code: Players must be 14 years of age at the start of the tournament and have not reached their 18 th birthday by the last day of the tournament. Please review the dress code in your Handbook when making plans for team dress. Proper golf attire is required for all tournament events, including the practice round. Teams are asked to dress in matching attire for the Opening Ceremony, practice round and official tournament rounds. Casual wear is okay for social activities. Spike-less or soft spiked golf shoes are mandatory. Team Photos: Weather: Team photos will be taken during the practice round. Players will have time to change and freshen up after the practice round and when the group photos are taken. The Opening Ceremonies will begin after the group photo is completed. Weather in the heartland of central California during July can be hot. Temperatures can reach the high as 105, but can drop to low 60 s. The golf course does provide shade from large old Oak Trees and there will be drinking water throughout the course. 5

The hotel is located minutes from. We encourage all captains to book their stay here. The room block is for Captain s & Co-Captain s only. Parents, spectators and college coaches will need to make arrangements at other local hotels. Airport(s): Sacramento International Airport (SMF) Oakland International Airport (OAK) There are 4 major airports to fly into when coming to Northern California; Sacramento, Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose. SMF and OAK are the closest to Modesto. Sacramento Airport is a very easy in and out with traffic being less of an issue when flying in and out of. Oakland Airport will tend to have cheaper flights although traffic in the Bay Area can often cause missed flights during heavy commuter traffic times. Ground Transportation: Rental cars are available at all major airports. If you do not want to rent a car, we will have the ability to shuttle you from the Double Tree to. 6

8 Guidelines for team captains Each team will be accompanied by an adult Team Captain that is 21 years of age or older and preferably not a parent or relative of one of the players. There will be the same Team Captain for each team throughout the Tournament entirety and the only one allowed to be communicating with the players. The role of the Team Captain is to support, encourage and attend to the needs of the team. A Team Captain may give advice to members of her team in accordance with USGA Rule 8. Note: Team Captains must keep in mind the importance of maintaining pace of play when advising team members, undue delay could result in a warning and/or penalty. (Rule 6-7) (Revised 02/03) Team Captains will be issued official badges for identification by the players and officials. Co-Captains are under the direction of the Team Captain. They may assist by taking care of errands, supplying refreshments, towels and general tournament support; but they cannot give advice to team members. Each team will be given one golf cart. Attendance is mandatory for Team Captains at all GJAC matches, scheduled meetings and social functions. Any special requests deviating from the Rules of the GJAC Handbook must be proposed in writing to the GJAC Executive Board no later than sixty (60) days prior to the GJAC Tournament. 9 Responsibilities of the Team Captains Must be 21 years of age or older. Respond to Host Committee by returning the Entry Form acknowledging receipt of tournament invitation along with the Team Captain Signature Form and a check for $700. Arrange hotel reservations. Arrange air and ground transportation for the team and notify Host Tournament Committee of arrival time. Arrange departure transportation after 6:00pm on the final day. Arrange for team uniforms and insure they conform to the GJAC dress code for all functions. Proper golf attire is required for Registration and all Tournament events, including the Practice Round. All other tournament information will be ed along with the Tournament Acceptance Packet in May. 10 Dress Code Information Proper golf attire is required for all tournament events, including the Practice Round. The GJAC Dress Code shall be observed for all tournament events, including the Practice Round. requires that players and spectators wear shirts of a style appropriate to golf; with shorts, skirts, culottes or slacks of appropriate length. The GJAC Dress Code excludes tank tops, halter tops, bare midriffs, short shorts, running shorts, denim and unhemmed cutoffs. Also, exercise wear and swimwear are prohibited by. Thank you for respecting the rules set by our Host Facility. Spike-less or soft spoke golf shoes are mandatory. No Team Captain shall contact any other team member concerning a dress code problem. All discussion should be between the Team Captains only.
