2 P a g e 2 October Events 7 Superintendent s Revenge Texoma Sr. Championship Maxwell Cup 29 Chris Lane Memorial Tournament November Events 5 Time Change Maxwell Cup Update The players are set and the pairings party will happen on Friday October 20th at 6:30 p.m. During the event, the captains will select their players live in front of the participants for both the Four Ball and Foursome matches. DG&TC is very excited about the 1st Annual Holiday Extravaganza here at the club. On November 20 from 6-9pm we will have local merchants set up booths in the ballroom. Get a jump start on your Holiday Season. Join us for a evening of shopping! The Maxwell Cup is scheduled for October 21 & 22. Come out and witness the battle for the 2017 Maxwell Cup In order to keep the best practice area possible, we need you help! When practicing PLEASE pattern your divots LINEAR like the image on the left. This will help the range tee to grow in faster and help us provide you with the best practice facilities. Our juniors have traveled to play Oak Tree National, OKC Country Club, The Trails and Belmar thus far! The remainder of the season we will take on Gaillardia, Oak Tree CC, Twin Hills and Kickingbird. DG&TC juniors are continuing to bring in young talent to carry on the winning tradition of Duncan Golf! Rules Wizard: Q: Player A is making a practice stroke on the putting green and accidentally strikes the ball. What is the ruling? A: The player would incur a penalty of 1 stroke and MUST replace the ball to its original position. Failure to replace the ball to its original position before teeing off on the next hole would result in disqualification.

As we go into the fall and winter months we will be working on some projects around the property. These will make the course more playable and aesthetically pleasing. First you will notice we have roped off two of the driving range tee boxes. We recently over-seeded these tees with Rye grass. Rye stays green all winter and will provide an improved surface to hit from. We will open the tees after we have mowed them a few times. When we do open the driving range tees, we will have rope on the tee surface. We would ask that all golfers hit from just behind the rope. We will move this rope as needed. We also seeded some select areas down around the practice area between #16 and #17. Please stay off of these areas until they are ready to hit from. You may see a new strange looking piece of equipment in the near future. We have purchased a light weight greens roller. It moves side-to-side like the machines they use to flatten asphalt. The use of this machine will smooth the greens surface, improve the speed of the greens, and provide a much truer consistent putting surface. The roller will also help speed up recovery after aerification in spring and fall. I look forward to seeing you out on the course soon! Thank You Daniel Mills, GCS
